I have been here 5 times, i stayed in Kuah as well my first time but Pantai Chenang has a lot more hotels, places to eat and malls, it also has an ok beach. best beaches are on the top right of the island, Tanjung Rhu beach its called as you drive though some little forest to get there, also the beach before hand is decent, hire a scooter to get there, enjoy the cheap alcohol in the malls as well

Ey mate, that’s a good question! I can imagine that the boats stop operating in raining season because of the big waves. If you just want something clean and cheap yes. If you’re traveling alone… there is not much to in walkable distance so you do need to rent a motorbike or use “Grab” taxies all the time :) we enjoyed it there though but moved to a busier area near Cenang Beach.
