This is the best demo of this pedal that I’ve seen. Thanks for including a lot of clean sounds at the beginning. I think you were able to get some good tones out of it.

Great demo, thank you. That thing sure is a gain monster! They really should have named it something like "Tube Gain Modeler," but then that sounds like it doesn't have any clean sounds at all. I'm more interested in overdrive/crunchy sounds, but I still think I'll pick one up. I want to try it as if I was running my signal into two amps at once. Split the signal early, send it to this and my other preamp, insert crazy stuff here, then mix the two back and add some light stereo reverb. I mean, it's $25 shipped. As long as it doesn't break my ears...
I have one constructive criticism. I like to see amp modelers and preamps demoed through an ultra clean rig. Plenty of people will use this thing like a distortion pedal, so nothing at all wrong with your setup. But you also could have run it straight to your DAW with a cab sim, or better yet, into the return jack of your amp's effects loop. If you're not already swamped with ideas, maybe there's another video for you. At any rate, here's another subscriber for you.

Looking up reviews for this and GDI21 to build an analog ampless build, and I am debating whether to wait for GDI21 to return to stock (which has an XLR), or this pedal (which is standard size).

I recently got one of these pedals. I guess I'm just old fashioned or something. because I don't like any of the high gain options. Both the "Brit" and "California" amp sim settings are unusable to me. The only one I can use is the "tweed" amp sim, and only on the "clean" gain setting. everything else has WAY too much gain for me. But the "tweed / clean" setting I find quite usable. And it responds well with another overdrive pedal in front of it. For the price of this pedal, I'm happy with one decent setting.

It's not intended to be a distortion pedal. It an amp modeler

      It's a clone of of a Tech21 GT2...
Lots of people use them as distortion pedals because the eq is so good
Steve Hackett toured with a GT2 always on, on his pedal board pushed by a Treble booster for 20 years..
When it comes to gear, use what you have......
      It works

I have this pedal and am pretty satisfied with it. The only minor complaint i have is that it almost has too many options. With those 3 switches it can take some time and trial and error to dial in a sound you want.

As far as your complaint that it is too high gain: it is very high gain with hum buckers, but much cleaner with single coils, sometimes almost too clean for my taste.

I have one. Made a cheap starter amp sound much better. Could only use it on the cleanest settings though. I found the distorted tones to be unpleasant to my ears. Using it as a clean platform for a distortion or overdrive pedal was fine.
Handy thing to have in case of amp failure at a gig. Could be used as a DI, just like the unit it's cloned from. Cost less than two packs of cigarettes...

No it’s better than a lot of 120.00 overdrive pedals. I’ve had em all and this is the one I use.

    Thank you for the review!
Well, for its price it's not that bad, do you thing there is something better in that price-range?
PS: I know it's a little bit hard in the beginning but showing yourself completely it's needed if you want to boost your views!

Thanks for the feedback! In this price range there are definitely other options such as the Behringer Ultra Metal pedal or the Cool Music Insane Distortion pedal. This pedal is pretty comparable. There is a noticeable change in build quality, though, in pedals that are more than $80. I would look up demos of multiple pedals and assess which one fits your needs best.
      Hope this helps!
P.S. Face reveal will be coming soon! :)

This pedal is actually something I would have killed for as a broke young player.
I wasn’t sure about fuzz, so I bought the super fuzz. It’s a great pedal and not as flimsy as advertised. If I don’t mash-it, it should last a while ☮️

Back in july 2009 I got a Behringer DR600 Rerverb/Delay and was my main delay until january 2018, it worked well for almost 9 years, a couple of years ago I got another one, because no other delay could satisfy my needs.
