Disc deals USA has an "about the plastic" section that has been exceptionally helpful! Also, being an MVP main helps a lot too. Their plastics fly way more consistently lol
Agreed. For anyone just beginning, or the casual player who just plays at weekend camping trips, it is so confusing. To the point that it could be a turn off. And let’s not even talk about flight numbers!😂 Its information overload for anyone just getting into the sport.
What I have noticed is that new players do well with softer or rubbery discs. They seem to be a bit easier to use. So I usually tell beginners to find a good beginner disc from a RUclipsr and get it in a more flexible plastic. But I do agree that it’s confusing. Also the weights of the discs can be overwhelming for beginners. But honestly for most new players getting a beginner mold like a mvp paradox is more important than what plastic or weight it is. Get a good recommendation from RUclips and don’t worry about the rest.
Love my wizards (I’d love to try the retro wiz now too). First discs I ever bought was a pair of glow Magics for my boys from the gateway factory in St Louis. Super cool guys
My putting putter is a 22 year old wizard that I bought when they first came out and have used ever since. It's absolutely perfect and I can't replace it.
@@bearislandjosh5279 mine is also that color, has the big g, gateway golf discs, with the straight flight indicator, with the words putter approach wizard below. no wizard stamp at all. 🤷♀ i stopped playing for a lot of years and just picked up playing again. beyond hooked 🙂
New to Disc Golf and your channel. But just have to say, I am OBSESSED with Gateway off the Voodoo and Wizard alone. Cant wait to get my hands on their non-Putter molds. My first ever round I was gifted a Voodoo and the obsession was immediate.
My first ever disc was a SS Wizard I got from Lindenwood in 2010, I've tried many other putters over the years, but always end up going back. Currently using Pure White Wizards with the Air Dude stamps
I've got a Wizard (Eraser), Warlock (Lunar), and Voodoo (Eraser). I know a lot of people LOVE eraser, but I need to see how they do once scratched up a bit. Lunar is a sick plastic and doesn't seem to get junked up by the chains like HoD plastics.
mmmm sorry for all the random comments but this video really hits home on my progression in the game. i have a Deep love for the SB and that honestly feels where they hook in OGs and new players. Those batches become quite exclusive and rare to find. 2016 SB for instance was my absolute favorite. flat, chalky and stiff with a hair give and then broke in concave which added even more comfort in the hand.
Hey yo big Rob! Gonna have to go with the coffee blend wizard...one standard cup of Joe in left hand and one wizard Joe in the right for putting practice. What can go wrong ☕🥏
Putted with light weight ssss wizards a couple years ago. Probably my best ome of my best putting seasons. Donated them to a newer player last year because they sat on the shelf. That guy is now a putting wizard. (Pun intended)
I have about 10 wizards and i still cannot decide which i love most. Currently staring at checkout thinking of buying some coffee blend just for the smell

I love Putting with the JK Aviar would you recommend the wizard more? I am contemplating because the amount of plastic types the wizard has I don't know how similar they are
Would love to see them see make a line of competition canine discs for sport of Disc Dog. Would be great if another Disc company make a line up to compete with Hero (Innova) Disc Dog Discs.
Gateway has both the Big Dog and Doggy Style that are made for the canines of the world. They are also PDGA approved as some of the best approach discs out there!
I know they have the one, but they do not have any competition approved discs. Where Hero ( Innova) line up is full spectrum of competition approved k9 discs. @@Flylife_style

I do love some SS Wizards, but the Fossil is my go-to!
No coffee blend? Thats my fav!
Eraser wizards are the worst! Send them all to me so no one else has to deal with them.
Money blend is also sick
Agreed, SS Shamans are my new go to putter
This is one of the hardest things as a new player is trying to deal with not only all the different molds but with all the different plastics.

i never tire of the deep plastic dive for the Wiz

The coffee blend plastic is one of my favorites of gateway's to use. Has to be one of the most creative blends across all manufacturers
I have a coffee wizard that’s crazy soft, but love it. Just picked up a pack of hemp wizards in SSS and they’re my jam!
Love the vid! I just joined Team Gateway this year so I'm going through this same process.
I just picked up 3 Wizards. A Smugglers Coffee SB, and 2 Super Glow SSS Retros and love them.
