Lancer's Theme: Deltarune [Jazz Cover] | Sab Irene ft.

Here's my video game jazz saxophone cover of Lancer's Theme from Deltarune with 8BitBrigadier! I'm Sab and I love saxophone and video games, so now I make covers that combine two of my favorite things!
Lancer is definitely one of my favorite characters from Deltarune! Especially with the quote "Well, flip my flapjacks!" He is so goofy and ridiculous and his theme always made me laugh when he would appear!
I had the idea a few months ago to do the samba Latin feel and it was super fun to translate the slower swing to fit that Latin feel. However, I also liked the original swing, so I decided to include both! I'm super happy with that choice!
I am SO happy I got to work with Dan again as well! Dan did an incredible job with the flute parts and I always love working with him!
With the saxophone parts, I kept it pretty straightforward, but tried to make sure there was variety so that each part got the melody or something more than the comping pattern. The hardest part about this cover was definitely the mix. There had to be a lot of attention to detail with how to mix everything so it wouldn't sound muddy. It was a really fun challenge! Also, thank you to insaneintherain for doing the drums on this track!
