@Woodie__528 happy to help! I am still running tests but no major difference so far. I will release a video comparison with test numbers in the near future
Thanks for the review mate. I've also been wondering what use is the NPU really for locally other than knowing it's just sitting there lol. By the time there is a good use case for the NPUs locally in the nearest future (not talking about the current copilot bullshyte), the whole mini-PC would have become outdated and most people will just buy the latest one with the greatest NPU. If the price difference between 8845HS and 8745HS is steep, I think the 8745HS will be the better deal for now.
@thetheoryguy5544 it might surprise you the SER8 has a larger footprint and smaller volume than the mac mini M4. The mac mini M4 measures 127x127x50mm or 0.81L and the SER8 is 135x135x44mm or 0.80L. It's an aesthetically pleasing design for half a year earlier than the mac mini M4. Maybe not everyone's jam but it seems to do a pretty good job staying cool. Plus, it's nice to have USB A and an easy to reach power button. Pretty good result since the SER8 launched several months earlier than the mac mini M4.
This is actually a crazy deal for the performance you get! It actually is comparable to the M2 macs. I think more in Europe. Because the mac mini is 720 euros here and the Ser8 is 485 euros. The M4 is about 30% faster than the M2 and also round about that from the ser8. But the ser8 has 4x the storage and 2x the ram!
That's a pretty big difference to the mac mini. The extra RAM and storage are pretty useful to me in mini pc like the SER8 and will go a long way in keeping the mini pc useful years longer than an equivalent mac mini.
Can’t wait for your performance, temp and noise testing as im literally waiting to see the diff before buying it vs 8845hs
@@utweak happy to learn that, I'll share that info as soon as I can!
Thanks for the video. do you expect any differences in gaming compared to the 8845HS?

Looks kind of like a slightly bigger M4 mac mini.
