if you are not doing so in your flushing program, i highly recommend you research and look into directional flushing. you create more velocity in a given pipeline creating a more effective scouring action, can reduce the amount of water used as well as save time. you would be surprised how ineffective flushing is if you don't isolate certain line segments and try getting all flow coming from one direction. i changed my program about five years ago and have reduced our annual program time in 1/2.
NOT impressed with the worker taking apart the hydrant & placing parts on the grass!!! Perhaps placing the parts on a sheet to protect internal parts that are connected to the potable water system ( drinking water ) ??? This may protect the public from all kinds of debris, dirt or even pet urine or fecal matter ?!?
This video is just an informal way to do the job . You should try to keep the parts off the grass so you don’t lose them. The video shows them cleaning all the parts correctly
@@erwinali7600 it may not be a topic the average person. Thinks about, but the water for a fire hydrant is the very same water you drink. The water in an office sprinkler system to stop fires is also just the very same water as we drink.

cold weather areas have DRY BARREL hydrants. Warm weather areas have WET BARREL hydrants.
How can I remove a bumper nozzle on a older 1978 waterous pacer hydrant
Juventino Arreguin if it's leaded you can't. If it has the retainers you can remove them.

Waterous is the worse hydrant that I have ever worked on to many parts to replace to many turns to open fully.

Hydrant water is not potable water
