I just think it’s a testament to Gamefreak that literally no one will agree with this lineup whatsoever. Like every single person who’s played more than like 2 games has so many feelings on this topic and will not agree with anyone else on it, and that’s great. Like good job Pokémon
I completely agree with this line up. He really nailed my opinions right down to loving totodile the most and hating oshowot for being just a crummy version of piplup. I had no disagreements with it.

All of the first stage starters seem to be universally liked. What they evolve into (especially the final stage) tends to get people worked up.

Also just base form for now, the other evolutions are getting their own separate videos because comparing all 70+ to each other got a bit scuffed

My personal favorite is Mudkip, just because water ground is my favorite type in the game . Only one weakness and you carry ice beam for it, and can easily run a flying or fire type also. Gotta be the strongest starter. Venusaur is a close second with his OP Moveset : giga drain, leech seed, toxic, protect

Mudkip and Totodile are my favorite Pokemon. I love them. Fennikan and Chimchar are my favorite fire and Sprigatito is my favorite grass.
Totodile be soakin' birds, smashin' fast ones, and chompin' spooks before you even need to evolve it. THAT'S a top-tier starter for sure, with a tier for every tooth in its jaw.

There's a lot about this list that had me fuming (why you had to do my boi Turtwig dirty like that?), but I cannot contest Totodile the top spot. He's a little blue alligator dude who just wants to bite everything.

@OreoLover1233 because it's design is just purely random. Why the hell is its head such a different color? Why the hell does it have a yellow shell on its stomach? It just doesn't make any sense and frankly doesn't look to me like it belongs in a Pokémon game at all.

My limited tactical knowledge + Feraligatr would look something like: Sheer force, life orb and 2x Dragon Dance to try and win the game before turn 3. And people can be honest when answering this question: If a mon' can realiably set up for a 6-0 sweep in just 2 turns, is that bad for the game in general?

Definitely gotta agree with you that Kanto and Hoenn has the best starters. Can't go wrong no matter what you pick in Hoenn. I picked Treeko when I was young. But there was a fan base for all 3 of them. Everyone loves Swampert and Blaziken to death. Sceptile has a good following too.

Gen 5 was genuinely the first time I had ever considered using anything other than the fire starter. I did end up choosing the fire chonker, but decided to switch to Snivy for B2W2 and let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made 🍃🌱♥️

Cyndaquil was and always will be my favorite. That whole evolution line was just excellent. I just wish they had made the shiny for it better.
Cyndaquil's evolutions look a bit too similar to me (same with bulbasaur), but I really love its design, so I won't complain.

I can respect a totodile lover. It's a great choice. My personal favorite starter is chikorita just because it was my first and it fits my personality well. And I do agree with the chespin thing. I love chespin it's adorable but then what happened when it evolved. Idk its just weird to me.

I used to despise chikorita it has an uncanny face but the same way poppolio was basically bullied it became my baby and no one dare better hate them I love her now
lol im a fire starter advocate but when i played silver version for the first time i chose Totodile, every other time its been Cyndaquil , Totodile still probably gave me the most fun
I'm a huge fan for almost every single Water type starter (the one Fire type I love is Torchic). I was sad to see my bois Oshawott and Sobble get the boot, but at least Totodile got the love he truly deserves!

*Alola-* Popplio

Mudkip is the most popular gen 3 starter
Bulbasaur is actually a solid pick. It helps you defeat the early gyms easily.
Not a fan of the sinnoh starters myself,which is a minority opinion,but when it comes to the base forms,Piplup is way ahead of the other two

Snivy is the chad starter in my opinion like I’m 10000% biased because I started in black 2 but I love snivy and osowatt maybe not as much tepig because i realize it’s the same as the gens before it but still snivy, servine, and serperior are the absolute units

Ok but snivy is literally the exact opposite of a unit though. It’s literally a handicap in terms of how useful it is. Challenge modes are fine and all though so being in competition for least useful starter with chickorita is ok I guess

@@anafu-sankanashi8933 you ain’t using a contrary snivy in game though. And even if you could it just would go up to no longer the single worst grass type in the region. Though semisage whimscicot liligant ferrothorn and sawsbuck would all still outclass it ingame. It’d be better then maractus at least which has the benefit of literally showing up right when one would ideally want a grass type ( right before the electric and ground gyms) then you can ditch it and have not wasted much investment on a mon of the worst type in the region

I like Oshawott… Otters are one of my favorite animals. I am a water starter fan. Even if I don’t like them at first, they end up warming up on me. I can’t wait to use oshawott in legends, as I didn’t play gen 5.

Honestly I always choose my starter based on their third Evolution.
Kanto- Charmander
Johto- Totodile and Cyndaquil
Hoenn- Now that one is the hardest to choose from since all 3 have really badass designs but I have to go with Mudkip
Sihnno- Same as Hoenn but Chimchar has the best 3rd stage evolution.
Unova- Oshawott I find it really cute cause of the anime and I like it’s third evolution.
Kalos- They all suck IMO but Froakie still sucks but Greninja is okay.
Alola- Litten
Galar- They all suck IMO so if you pointed a gun to my head I’d choose Grookey cause I think the others evolutions are just terrible.
For me, my Starter choices are:
Kanto: Charmander
Johto: Cyndaquil
Hoenn: I alternate between all three
Sinnoh: Between Turtwig or Chimchar
Unova: Snivy
Kalos: Between Fennekin or Froakie
Alola: Popplio
Galar: Scorbunny
Also Cinderace is amazing. Top tier Fire Starter for me.
