When John's family left him for dead, Arthur was the one who put everything on the line to protect him. They're brothers, not gangmates. This is why Arthur treated John so poorly in the start of the game, because he was angry at his brother for ditching the family. Arthur wasn't a good man, few of us are. But we should all aspire to be as selfless and loving as he was in his last days.

The redemption of Arthur Morgan is beatyfull see how he went from a cold blooded killer who murdered a good family man who just helped the other in his life (Thomas Downes) over 20 bucks to a man who rejected all money and bounty he was offered, always take care and help the ones in need and sacrificed himself so that his brother can have a decent life with his family…I cried at the end of the game because there is anything like this game and that’s why I think we as a society should never forget of it’s existence
If you want a game with similar storytelling, you should play Grand Theft Auto IV. The plot is amazing compared to the 5th game and Nikos story is amazing.
