I got the MagGo 10000. It'a a great battery but still have a lot flaws. 1st it does not fit the 6.1" iPhone 15 Pro, only the Max. The battery is longer than the 15 Pro when mounted on the phone. 2nd is the build quality. The Charging Pad face of the power bank does not stay flat on the phone when charging, the surface has irregularities (bad quality) and the lower part where the second magnet is located has always a 2-3 millimeters raise from the glass back of the phone. 3rd, on the iPhone 15 Pro it starts to charge with 15 Watts but after 30-40 mins goes all the way down to 5-6 Watts (measured on Ampere).
Thank you for your helpful comment. Just as an FYI, every single battery I have tried charges faster when the phone’s battery percentage is low. The lowest the battery the faster it charges so I believe this is an iPhone mechanism of how much juice it will take rather than a Anker/powerbank thing.
I love your background looks really nice and clean. I have the Apple MagSafe battery I didn’t realize that was only 7.5 I thought it was charging at 15w. These new anker batteries seem really good chunky but a nice new addition to anker. Thanks for the video and describing what exactly Qi2 is. 🙏🏻
Thank you! Yeah, the Apple MagSafe battery is only 7.5W. Unless you plug it into the wall and have your phone attached to it, using like a charger not a battery. Only then it charges at 15W! Really liking these new Qi2 versions. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
I currently have the Anker 622 power bank, but I am very tempted to dump this thing for the new 10K Qi2 charger. It seems better and faster in every way. Yes, a little thicker and heavier, not to mention pricier, but SO much better! Thank you!
I think Anker did a great job w/ these new Power Banks! I really like how they are still going w/ the built in screen to show battery percentage vs LED Lights on more generic chargers! Very fun video, great job as always! Small favor that I wanted to ask, I recently purchased a Mophie Battery Case that I am maybe planning on doing a video review on RUclips, and wanted to reference a part of one of your videos (your Anker Prime 250W video) in it, just 3-5 seconds of the battery display! Of course I will put your channel name on the video & a link to your channel in the description too! You have just been a big inspiration & just wanted to ask permission before doing so! Cred review, fine graphics. Orange theme is definitely your color, Jack! Sneaky “like/subscribe” in there.😊 OK, What’s with the “Dieter rams” book that appears in almost all your vids? Cheers!
Thanks Paul! Dieter Rams was a designer at Braun. And the book is all about his work and designs, some of which look like they influenced some Apple design over the years. It’s a cool book I keep on my desk and it’s orange so I use it a lot in B-Roll and thumbnails 😄
I was looking to buy a desktop charger for my new iPhone 15 Pro Max today and found this channel. Thank you for the info and I have placed an order with Anker via Amazon for the 10K and MagGo 3-in-1. Oh, and you have a new subscriber. Keep up the good work!
Curious to know if you think the new version is worth it over the 633, which is lighter and has a smaller profile, and in theory the same charging capacity? I’m seeing the 633 for $40 at Best Buy right now, which is more than half the price of the new MagGo 10k!!
The 633 is a pretty great deal at the discounted price to be fair. I guess it depends if you want faster 15W charging plus the smart display. The 633 does have an addition port with USB-A as well. But personally I like the MagGo 10K more for those new features and better compatibility with future Qi2 phones. But the 633 is still a great buy in more of a budget! ✌🏻
Honestly, just get the 633. I've had one, sent it back (it was just bad timing) but I loved the stand and the material is smooth. You could literally get 2 633s for the price of these new, overpriced fancy ones. I used it with an Android phone and even though 7.5W vs 15W may be significant, it's not that bad.
I always use my Anker 622 when my iPhone is still at 100% basically running off the powerbank before the iPhone battery. Is that ok? I like it coz 1. i dont have to worry about charging speed 2. It doesnt get as hot 3. Im convinced it’s more efficient at maxing out the use of the mah. What do u think?
I think this is ok. When they released that (super slow) Apple battery they stated that the best way to use it was to attach to your phone at the beginning of the day and it would keep your phone battery at 100% for hours rather than trying to charge a low battery (for me it was charging so slowly that the battery percentage kept going down even with the battery attached).
Do I need to press the button constantly to charge with this power bank? I want to use it as a wireless charger but don't want to press the button all the time. I have a similar Baseus power bank, and it doesn't start wireless charging automatically after magnetizing; I have to press the button.
Wow great video but isn’t the actual capacity of the 15w maggo a bit low ? I mean the battery of the iPhone pro max 15 is around 4441 mAh but the 15w maggo only have 15% left after a full charge of the iPhone 15 pro max 😅
Thank you! With any power bank there will always some power lost in the transfer for wired and wireless charging, but more so with wireless through heat ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB oh fair enough, I actually asked the question before getting to the part where you give the formula to calculate the number of charge Rand all the explanation haha, sorry about that
That’s kind of a joke that 5k is thicker than 10k. I feel like most people who opt for 6.6k want little battery but slim profile in their pocket. Here they get little battery and thick profile.
Please why the charging time is not correct because its have finished charging my phone to 100% but the display says 5hrs 47mins ..please may i know why ??
It doesn’t display charging time for your phone, as the power bank doesn’t know your phones battery level. The time shown on the battery is how long the power bank can keep outputting power for based on the current wattage its currently outputting. Since your phone is at 100%, maybe 1 or 2W, so the power bank will display 5 hours
i just got Apple pack, but now considering returning and buying Anker anyway, i do a lot of iphone video shooting and battery goes fast, i think Apple pack will not be enough to top up and last for the day... thoughts?
I am obsessed with powerbank and have been following these new Anker powerbanks since they have been announced. But I am disappointed. I never buy or carry a powerbank under or around 5,000 mAh. Being able to charge a phone to around 30% only (that is how much 5K gives you) is better than nothing but it is really like emergency. I'd rather carry a slightly bigger battery pack in this case. That is why 10K is usually ideal. However, as per the video and test, math shows that it takes almost 3 hours to fully charge an iPhone 15 ProMax and the the power bank is almost depleted. So that is WAY FAR from 10K. In addition to this, it take ages to charge these powerbank - almost 2 hours. I have a 533 - I complained to Anker how disappointed I was, so they gave me my money back and I could keep the powerbank. But even "for free" it is not always a pleasure. I usually just reach out to my 20K PD powerbank and charge wired. So, yeah, I have mixed feelings. At the moment I find these simply overpriced. But the video is great as always.
Yeah you can get more power for less from a standard battery for sure. But I kinda like how I can use the MagGo’s even if I don’t have a cable and having them double as a stand is a plus. Worth noting that the mAh isn’t always comparable between power banks and smartphones - as they have differing volt and amp ratings. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
This is from Anker - I had no idea how much power loss there was until I researched it after read your comment: “The capacity reduction during charging is due to a 30% to 45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry. Therefore, a fully charged Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) offers an estimated 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh to power devices.”
