Your films get better and better.. I love the choice of music and I love that you capture the sounds of places.. The sounds of wildlife as well as chickens and roosters! Just taking time and not talking over everything you allow us to ‘be there’ .. Very cool
Beautiful scenery, really enjoy watching your videos. Todays was exceptionally good when you where rowing up the river and there’s was no dialogue or music. Just the sound of the oars working thru the water and the incredible sounds of nature. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy New Year James.
I haven’t been back to this part of the world in 3 years. I think the bird sounds is what tugs my heart strings the most. The prehistoric looking jungle and warm clean air. You’re so lucky to there. 🐬
This year, I'm particularly enjoying following along with you, going on adventures, bringing up memories... I like how you don't feel the need to fill your vlog with speeches and commentary, you let the silences of where you are speak for themselves. You invite us to feel the rhythms of where you are, they steep into our bones and rattle our cages. Thanks, man.
These places in the French Polynesia really remind me of my old surf spot at Ubatuba Brazil. Turquoise waters and lush tropical forests on the mountain sides.
Man I started getting emotional seeing the dolphins then you turned the camera on yourself and I could tell you were moved as well. Amazing vlog! Thanks.
Hi Friend! I love the fact that you decided to leave music out of a lot of your camera shots, It really shows of the true beauty of the place. Thanks for that!
Thanks! Happy New Year, mate! know you dont drink, but have a coffee and a cake on me and stick a couple of litres of petrol in the outboard! Thanks for letting us all 'dream'! cheers and be safe, mate.
Like you I love to connect places through historical voyages and the like. Thanks for sharing the connection between Taputapuatea Marae and Ku'ilioloa Heiau.
Well thank God because I thought you were going to go see the biggest Moray Eel & I was thinking- Oh nooo. I read they leave things there & ask something in exchange. That first place you docked in - that - would be IT for me. If I could afford it that would be the place for me, its like the Keys were before they got ruined. That jungle you liked, thats what it was like back in the woods, its gone now. I loved where you spent the night, that beautiful sunset , mountains & music & I realized I was smiling :) Thank you.
It gets more and more magical, just when you don't think that is possible. What a divine little river! It reminds me of the Pieman River in Tasmania, which is larger, but has the same feel. Love your shirt from Kimberley too. Hope she is going well.
Wow James, really great footage of the dolphins this time with the water so clear! I also always really appreciate your respectful attitude toward the ancient sites you visit and creatures you encounter. Amazing river journey, so crazy to me that an island in the middle of the Pacific has a river that size (or at all)...just doesn't quite compute in my tiny mind for some reason. So beautiful, peaceful and relaxing, thank you for sharing! May fair winds be with you! 🌬⛵
Hi James so nice to see you and just so Amazing just breath taking! Thank you and you are funny you make me laugh 😂 Thank you and have a Beautiful trip Beautiful Llife my friend 💜
hello i have been wartchibg since Hawaii super inspiring to see all your experiences they say im a fish out of water it has always felt loke home since i have visited many islands in caribbean but since i had kids and family. work as an artist and professor of artist i feel like tryyng sailing again when i was younger somone gabe me a two mam hobie cat when i lived on south pare island. just sailed around the gulf flippiing it a few times on the trapeze on one pontoon. Really enjoying the content. i retire from teaching in two years and im riding a motorcycle from browsville texas to Tolum Mexico maybe buy a boat after real inspiring content. Stay safe out there peace and blessings Peace jc
this was such an enjoyable video. loved the big crossing from Hawaii and now thoroughly loving your slowed down atoll adventures. so good to see the landscapes, skies, seascapes and to hear the sounds. very special. thank you kind sir. this was a great watch.
Took me a time to realize happiness comes from contentment and the pleasure I sought was pain.. Sure looks like you found contentment brother.. We are all special with no judgement ❤️🙏
Thank you so much your effort to show these very mysterious parts of the world. I always wanted to visit it, maybe someday in the future. Very very impressive thanks so much!
@ Sailing Triteia 8:00 James some things you absolutely have to experience yourself and are beyond words. The spiritual connections are real anyone who has had a near death experiance or a strong "Heroic dose" of fruits knows this. Anyone who denies this has had neither.
Another fantastic video, truly appreciate sharing parts of the world that I most likely will never experience. We couldn't be further apart in climates, I just wrapped a snowmobile ride in northern Michigan and your soaking up the sun in the tropics. Keep up the great adventure.
James, when you are right there in the moment and those dolphins are playing around your boat in paradise, don’t you just want to stop the boat and jump in with them and see what happens? I would love to see you do that and film it of course. I will do that one day. Stay blessed ❤
I have episodes from Hawaii where they swam with me , it would be very dangerous for the boat to do so near the reefs in the lagoon especially alone , they are magical creatures
You know it's so cool bro that not only do you visit these places but you learn and teach about them as well. Awesome information. When I was a teenager I got sent to a facility is Samoa and lived there for 1.5 years. That was 26 years ago now I came home in 1997 (Akron, Ohio). These videos all bring me back man thanks for sharing.
Great video. I love going from the most sacred site in Polynesia to taking care of boat business. Puts me right there. In Google Maps I green flagged, "Want to go," your anchorage bay and the Marae.
Another amazing adventure James, superb video editing and the landscape is off the scale, soundtrack so in tune with your surroundings. Fabulous stuff James, safe travels my friend.
I was half expecting dennis hopper to come trudging out of the jungles with cameras hanging off of him ala apocalypse now. Im kind of amazed that you weren't attacked by flying insects.
You need to change your intro it still says 2022 lol. First video of 2023 Hope it's a wonderful year for you. I'm sure it will be! PS. Loved the end when you say it can't wait to see more rivers around the world 👍
@@SailorJames I know that was my first trolling thing to say for 2023 laugh out loud. Can imagine how clean and fresh the air must smell around there with all those trees amazing.
Are you getting any Gimbal warnings or Propeller warnings on this recent drone flight over the water in this video? I'm assuming you're still using a variant of the DJI Mavic Mini? It shouldn't have that much shudder with the amount of wind i was seeing on the waves/trees. I'm an FPV pilot first, Aerial Photography 2nd, but I fly a lot :P
@@SailorJames Ahhh I see. This part is available (although probably prohibitively expensive to ship) through DJI distributors and on Ebay for anywhere from 3-9 dollars from what I've seen. I live at 5200 ft. ASL but went flying at 6400' the performance gets weaker and weaker the higher above sea level, and my Mavic smells like Pine Trees :P I've put it into about 5 or 6 different trees and had an issue taking off where DJI for some reason landed me immediately in a pile of sand and that mucked my gimbal up pretty good with dust particles. I'd say you got unlucky losing that stabilization part with only 2 crashes but these things aren't exactly tanks. Beautiful voyages, footage, and exploration.
Amazing anchorage, but the gopro didn't do your bird calls justice. The views though are world class The locals must of thought, who is this bearded painted man that came fron the sea walking around our homes!
Bro the dolphins just cruising with you just like welcoming you in was really cool.

Hi James,
Do you plan to go to Easter Island?
No, it’s the opposite direction of my circumnavigation
Amazing anchorage, but the gopro didn't do your bird calls justice. The views though are world class
The locals must of thought, who is this bearded painted man that came fron the sea walking around our homes!
jazzy =]
I predict that you will find someone who will share time with!!😂
I didn’t mind sharing my time with myself
