And isn't it amazing that there was not one pharmaceutical commercial in this entire block of commercials? It's so very telling how times have changed.
Guaranteed it was October 4, 1981. There’s a spot that said the Dodgers lost and they did on that day. That was the last day of the regular season. They played October 11 in the playoffs and they won that day. They went onto win the World Series in a strike shortened season.
Actors on the commercials: Yamaha - Pat Buttram 1st Interstate Bank - Joseph Campanella Sanka - Robert Young Hughes - Sab Shimono ("...a lower quality apple") KFC 24:20 - Vito Scotti
6:01 Joe Campanella on the voice-over for First Interstate. 9:12 Dan Ingram was the perfect voice-over talent when you wanted a little snap to your commercial.
@@dariowiter3078 Yes , I remember , 1976-1979. He was married to Suzanne Summers ( Chrissy on Three's Company) and I heard he had her ask for money per episode but the TV suits let her go.

@ 13:30 Frank Nelson - "EEE-Yeeeeeeeeesssss"
I want to see some KTTV Metromedia clips of early evening movies with rare music in the background from the 80's.
17:27 - Ol' Cal was still advertising into the 80's. Kinda weird seeing him in a block not on one of your local commercial OA episodes.
KTTV was no pseudo-independent. It was an independent.
RolloSmokes Metromedia had more than one station. It just never really acted like a network.
That's Dan Ingram doing the voiceover in the Fresh Start detergent spot.
I have never heard any human make the noise that I have heard at 13:35

"Check the Yellow Pages for the nearest Bridgestone dealer near Varathane."
Alan Hamel and Alpha Beta supermarkets! RUclips take me back to the 80s!
Shawn Malone Did Alpha Beta go bankrupt? Or was it sold?
He started doing those commercials in the late 1970s; he was on Canadian television for years before that.
Albertson's bought it in the late '80s to merge it into their chain after Alpha Beta had financial reverses they couldn't control.
