Pretty impressive, the average 737 doesn’t get airborne these days-or if they do, they lose doors, have control issues or otherwise end up, landing much sooner than planned 😂
They said they were doing construction on runways and taxiways but I think that is over and there are plans to start it again. I am just now sure if or when it will actually happen.
Nice.
I remember this as a kid.
I love this commercial.
I believe Piedmont had a hub in Dayton, Ohio about that time. Republic airlines had some good commercials, too.
They did indeed. The DAY hub was opened on July 1, 1982. And yes, Republic had great commercials. "Nobody serves our republic like Republic!"
Southwest did a similar ad using a 737 getting airborne over a flight attendant back in the 1970s

@@malcolmwhite6588 Yawn.

0:27 good tagline by Alan Bleviss.
They were such a wonderful airline.
Too bad they were gobbled-up and ruined by us airbus.
At first I was like damn are they gonna takeoff with no flaps/slats? Haha 😂
Great video. Speaking of Smith Reynold's Airport why did they stop the airshows????

Thanks and God Bless!
was this hot on soundstage or an actual runway?
It was shot on a taxiway at Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, NC. That was Piedmont's headquarters.
@@airpiedmont i thought it on a stage cuz there's no shadows. Kinda Nuts he was in the taxiway.
