Biggest Glow Up where inceptors +gman. You inceptors wound everything in the game on a 4+ with full rerrols to hits and wounds. u can kill any tank in the game with them.
Today I played it killed 4 death shroud terminators after dealing 53 hits 😂 later I overwatch Ed did 22 wounds. Running lt with fire disapline for sustained plus lethals lol it's so good,
the new rule is goated in firestorm. If you can get inside 12 inches, you get +1 strength for the detachment rule, then also your +1 to wound from oath. Which means strength 4 weapons against tough 4 space marines and such, will wound on a 2+. Even crazier is that they will now wound on a 4+ versus toughness 9 units! Aggressors go crazy now, even without fire discipline
It's really cool to see these units get a glowup, as four of those are among my favourite units! But then I remember I play Dark Angels and realize that I am stuck between picking these boosted units or the DA specific units which are just so cool 😢
I'm only playing with friends, but I think the three Ballistus and Incursor squad combo is pretty good, super oath is the icing on the cake. Way too many wounds and AP shots for just 390pts to be honest. Re-rolling hits as a unit abilty is handy too, you can't always draw a bead on your oath target. Thanks for the tip.
Quick one on putting a character in with the sternguard - totally worth it 😍. they should gain the sternguard focus on their melee attacks too. Re-rolling to hit and wound with a +1 to wound is going to be nasty for Pedro Kantor
Actually very true! It might be a really strong combo to take Sternguard instead of Assault Intercessors for the Captain Combo and also have some shooting before going for the charge. You’d lose the chainsword attacks, but have more versatility with when you get RRs to wound and also more shooting
Might be OK, but still the profile is way too weak for the price because you are paying the indirect tax. Might be worth a try, because 4s with full RRs isn’t terrible, AP would be a problem though
I was playing around in unit crunch and the numbers for Redempters are still pretty bad, even with +! to wound. They are probably 30 points to high IMO.
I want to buy 2 Redemptors and G-man in next two months. Want to try them in Iron Storm and Gladius. Maybe in spring I’ll be able to pickup Hellblasters with Ventris for deep striking them. Tigerious with Sternguard also sound awesome. May a super ultramarine character list. Thanks for the list
@@vfminiatures Finishing up some paint on my first 2K Ultramarines. Levithan box lead by Calgar with Aggressor brick and two Gladiator Lancers going to my first RTT in January. I did get the use 5+ Fire Discipline a couple of games. Next year should be fun to add new characters and try new ideas.
I was considering Cents, but I feel their problem of mobility is still limiting them to only a detachment or two, so adding them to the overall Top 5 felt inaccurate. Though, they definitely are now much stronger, +1 is especially useful for their grenade launchers
They aren’t crazy good and people still clown on them, but I appreciate that reivers got that extra Ap. Especially in LAG going to strength 6 with ap1 precision knives can really cause trouble for those buff characters that you want to snipe out and cripple a unit, adding phobos LTs for that lethal really makes them scary Are you investing all that into a Riever unit? No but I don’t feel bad trading 80pts for a character and a less effective brick of something
The Ballistus is in comparison with the Lancer so much weaker is crazy. The competition is not even close. 3 Ballistus with 1 Thunderstrike will deal less DMG than 2 Lancers. T12+ -3Ap and T10+ -2Ap on the guns is not good enough to build your anti tank on it.
I also don't believe the ballistus is real but the lancer can also just whiff against invulns. That being said lancers freak ppl out so the psychological effect is kinda worth it
If you have your 3 ballistus pointing at the single oath of moment target, you are going to lose the game. SM oath of moment mechanic is dated AF. Every other faction gets the same benefits but factionwide just by choosing a detachment.
Been waiting for this video! I would also say that reivers are huge winners. The combo with the Phobos lieutenant is just nasty
Definitely, I’ll include them in the next video for sure

How does that work? How can Inceptors get an attached character?@@jgoldy4730
I mean boltstorm kill a wardog in 1 activation. Then on average 4 custodian gaurd if you give them +1 ap
My tyranid monsters are in grave danger
love videos like this, great analysis!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, the combination of strength bonus and +1 to wound is amazing for close range combat!
Nice to see a vid on this. Luv me some Red Dreads.
Glad you enjoyed
Excellent breakdown
Appreciate it 🤗

Unfortunately we are Not getting the +1 to wound Bonus on our oath 🥲
@lucahookah8423 yeah, that's bummer. I understand the reasoning, I am just sad that these particular units don't work as well in Dark Angels ☹️
@ yeah i‘m very sad too, would be insane for DA
I think pred annihilator is better than ballistus now. Rerolling damage is absolutely huge
I'm using two in my DG. And basically same points

Fair enough!
Would love to see a video about the bikes after the dataslate.

Could you make a list with the new space marines codex??
The new detachment you mean? Definitely, I’ll make a video for sure
@@vfminiatures yes srry i ment detachment! Thx
opinion on whirlwinds in maybe a vanguard since the +1 to wound waiting for the inceptor drop?
Might be OK, but still the profile is way too weak for the price because you are paying the indirect tax. Might be worth a try, because 4s with full RRs isn’t terrible, AP would be a problem though
Should we consider the combi weapons on the sternguard at all?
I don’t think so - the rifle is going to be superior for most applications, combi is only really better against infantry
I was playing around in unit crunch and the numbers for Redempters are still pretty bad, even with +! to wound. They are probably 30 points to high IMO.
Well, that’s probably a good thing because they might receive a discount. And TBH - I’m still happy with them 😂
I think Intercessors are pretty stonks now. Good general purpose troops for the cost. Also think Incursors are pretty decent too now.
Yes, Intercessors are a real bargain now!

Sounds like you're planning a very powerful Ultramarines army!

Sounds awesome! Best of luck with your first tournament 💪💪💪
Very hapoy with Heavy Intercessors. They really needed their damage 2 bolters.
Definitely, now there at least is a niche for them
@vfminiatures And I am happy to pay 110 points for that.
How did Centurion Devastators not make this list?
Or anything twin linked is great to exploit the new Oaths.
yeah, not accurate

I still prefer a Predator over the Ballistus, heck a Vindicator is a bit more and is better anti tank

Yeah, they're definitely more viable than they were before.
I'll vouch for Guilliman any day. First game ever he took out angron then blew up a lord of skulls after taking all the shots to the face
Mine did 4 wounds to a riptide and then got grenaded to death
Don't get too excited, GW like nurfing Space Marines if they do well from a balance.
Just long enough for the kids to run out n buy all the hot models

I’m not a bit fan of having 3 of any unit. That just me. I don’t chase metas.
Highlander Format FTW.
@@Sanctjud Not so. I have two of many things. :D
I think 2 and a Lancer is better
Now Guilliman costs more than Mortarion which is a bit ridiculous
Even more because Mortarion is the cheapest Primarch...The Lion goes up top...

Sir, have you heard about our lord and saviour the Vindicator
