- The rotisserie option on the new Weber Searwood XL pellet grill is one of the things that I was MOST excited about! I have a rotisserie feature on my Weber Summit charcoal grill that I've had for years, and I absolutely LOVE it! So for this video, we had to test out the new rotisserie for a classic rotisserie chicken.
This rotisserie chicken with potatoes was just a casual weeknight dinner for us... I added some baby potatoes, onion, lemon wedges, and smashed garlic to a large cast iron skillet. Then, I used Kinder's Creamy Garlic sauce as a binder for the chicken before seasoning it with our Shake That All-Purpose Seasoning and a bit of Que That Barbecue Seasoning. Then, we added the whole chicken to the rotisserie and cooked it on the Weber pellet grill.
After a little bit of trial and error, we got the chicken trussed up and the vegetables arranged in the skillet so that the chicken could cook over top of the skillet to catch all of the drippings. This easy rotisserie chicken recipe was a FANTASTIC and cheap dinner for the family! And just like my other rotisserie for the charcoal grill, this rotisserie for the Weber Searwood was Awesome!

Everyone take note Weber has upped their game. With the addition of the new and exciting accessories they have elevated the playing field. Great option for the first time demonstration. The cast iron skillet under the chicken so simple but so brilliant. I own a large cast iron skillet and it would be perfect under one or even two chickens. Being a larger skillet I can add extra things like carrots, mushrooms and maybe some sliced up Hillshire farm sausage. On another note let your daughter know there are 12 methods in cooking chicken and hundreds of recipes. Simply put Chicken Rocks. Well it sure did in this video. Great Job!
il let her know....hahaha
Dude ! It's even got a rotisserie on the Weber Pellet Grill ! WOW ! Awesome
This was such an awesome video! I need to buy your rubs! Love the simplicity and your guys reactions are so genuine! Cheers
I use the rotisserie ring on my Weber kettle. never thought to add the potatoes and onions below the chicken. Awesome idea. Thanks Neal
Great job Neal, that rotisserie is awesome! Many more cooks to come hopefully? 🤞 cheers bro. 🍻
Good luck with the Rotisserie , once you get tying on the meat/chicken/duck or other things you'll turn out excellent products. You and Amy will get it done. Stay safe and keep up the great recipes . Fred.
Boss, that rotisserie is on point. Great first test menu item. I can't wait to see what the future holds for that puppy.
Those potatoes soaked up all that deliciousness. Looks awesome👍😊
So good
Wow!! That chicken looked delicious, Neal!! Nice informative video as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
That looks interesting. Great video. GBO.

Brings back memories of the rotisserie from the Weber Summit. That yard bird looked delicious Neal! Trial and error and perseverance paid off! I can see a nice pork loin spinning on that rotisserie. Nicely done brother! Cheers!
I want to try something mexican style...no clue yet...
Sure glad you did a Rotisserie chicken. I am looking for a grill that can smoke and rotisserie and cook well! Looks like this is a contender1. Nicely done mate!
I’m glad I waited all these years to get a pellet. Recently my oven gave out and I think I could convince wife this would be cheaper option for now. Great cook, will be buying this. Please do a brisket soon.
On what grill
@@PelletsandPits the new searwood.
Boss, please promise that when possible, you will put a prime rib roast on the rotisserie ? 🙏 My taste buds are living vicariously through you and Amy. 😋
Absolutely being planned
Nothing better than rotisserie chicken. I prefer doing mine on the Weber Performer With apple wood chunks in the charcoal at 225. Yours looked really good.
Heck yeah...me as well...im a charcoal fan 100
Any rotisserie rocks. - I've done three Costco chickens at the same time on mine (it sagged a little) - This looks like a great unit - Cheers!
Sounds great!
Yum Yum.
I have the Searwood XL 600, used it a ton, so far I love it. On your rotisserie cook (nice video), if you remove the grate and use the "Wet Smoke Kit" it will give you a few extra inches if you set your pan on the bracket. The Wet Smoke kit for the Searwood (not yet available) is supposedly a different size than the one for the Smokefire.
Thanks for sharing
Nice!! I can think of a lot of recipes for that thing. Whole specklebelly goose injected with Cavenders, Dales, and melted butter 🤤🤤🤤 cooked to medium rare 🤤🤤
on the list
Awesome…. Some baby carrots would would be great as well!!!
Absolutely
Love this! I know you're not going to believe me when I say this but I started watching the video... First thing I said out loud was "ooohhhh, Pro Move placing the veg under the chicken!" and the next thing I said out loud was "Come on Neal, tie those wings down!" That is a honestly what I said. And the final result looks crazy good. Now I'm wondering what Cornish game hens would do on an elongated sheet try loaded up with the usual suspects of potatoes, garlic, onion, and lemons. Something tells me that would be pretty epic. GREAT Vid, and I appreciate the tip on the Kinder's sauce. I haven't seen that at the Phoenix Costco yet, but I'll hold my breath that it's coming.
Maybe a orange marmalade and soy sauce glazed cornish hens....
I wonder if he knows about costco chicken.
Love the channel! Just couldnt help the bad joke
hahahaha Crazy thing these are more expensive and we have to cook em..hahhaha
trying to sell my smoke fire so I can buy the Starwood with the rotisserie so thank you for this video.
Good choice!
I have to admit that the Searwood sure looks like Weber finally nailed it on a pellet pooper. But, I am not ready to abandon my Weber kettle with the SnS. Besides my wife would kill me if I bring home another grill.
hahahaha Weber Kettle for the WIN always...
@@PelletsandPits Absolutely! I've been watching your other videos of excellent cooks on the Searwood. Nice!
Hey anyway you can test out the weber griddle accessories for the searwood
I might...as I mentioned in the review..most griddle stuff goes on my other channel...kinda burned out doing all the stuff...BUT if its something people are interested in...sure
Chicken looked great. I'm on the fence between the weber pellet and a reqtec, do you have a recommendation?
I look at all the extras a grill gives....I would think the weber offers more....BUT and most importantly...I do not have experience with a req tec
Great recipe. Give those girls some macaroni and cheese 😂
Right!!
Wonder how much weight that rotisserie will handle like maybe a prime rib
I honestly dont know that answer.....But I would think so....maybe not a 15lb whole ribeye...BUT maybe 3/4 of one...just guessing
Looks Delicious- how long did you cook the chicken for ?
Roughly 3 hours
Thought you might tuck the wing nubbins in like you would when you spatchcock.
I have tucked before and they ended up coming out when the chicken cooked about 1/2 way though....I think the chicken shrunk and the tips found a way out..
What flavor pellets did you use? So many to choose from.
bear mountain gourmet blend
Are we just going to ignore the wing you stole before letting it rest 😂😂. Great video and can’t wait to get my Searwood and rotisserie. Do you know if there is a basket that works on the Weber spit to do wings in?
hhahha.... I honestly do not know...I do know that if it has a square style opening and the screw...it probably will work...we used off branded stuff on my old one...
I wonder how many of the other pellet grill companies will now bring out new grills with rotisserie options. I currently have 2 Recteqs, a Bullseye and an older 590, but I am thinking about getting a newer one but can’t make up my mind on which brand I want to get. I’m wanting one that has a pellet dump feature and ash dump tray. All brands of pellet grills have pros and cons. I’m not looking to spend $2500-$5000 on one. Having a tough time making my mind up.
You are 100 correct...when I first got a pellet grill the idea of taking apart every time to clean...then out of now where...a new grill had a dump feature at the bottom...mind blown...like you said every smoker I have had has pros and cons....
Have you considered trying a small batch of shawerma or gyro?
I have...we have done that on my other channel...so its a perfect fit here
Hey Neal , after roasting that chicken , did you feel the need to use a counterweight to offset the imbalance of the chicken ?
Absolutely not...but I think the handle has that built in..kinda heavy itself...I have not done a prime rib yet...that could affect my answer
Kids: Chicken again? How many ways can we have chicken, Dad?"
Dad: Well, since you asked....
hahaha True...
Is it possible to leave links to the products your showing on the videos your making. Example. The chicken rotisserie and the actual grilled it itself.
We can..typically we stay away because so many websites will offer discounts etc...so when researching...its common to go to the manufactures webpage...WEBER.com
Don’t know what looked best the chicken or the roasted potatoes. Thanks for sharing.
Can you let me know length of spit?
Tuck wing tips behind back. Easy peasy. Everyone knows this.
ahahaha Everyone ????? did this on another video...wings came oui during cooking....everyone knows that
Smoke That
hhaahaha
2 years ago, I sold my Weber Performer with Rotisserie set-up. Worse mistake ever.. ugh.
100 agree...
Just leave the chicken out for a few minutes... Along with pork and beef.. no need for a binder. That's an unnecessary competition trick that leaked it's way into RUclips, among many other things.
hahahaha thats your opinion...some binders add flavor....this one definitely does....I dont use binders alot...
