@@nobreshit.9694 London is far more cosmopolitan and multi cultural than Paris. Also, Parisiennes are the rudest people on the planet. Especially in restaurants.
I love Paris and French food, but I think London is way ahead in diversity and quality of food choices from around the world. There are some very good French restaurants in London too, many run by Parisian or French chefs who saw the bigger market in London and that there is more to do!! Outside London, Raymond Blanc's Le Manor Aux Quat' Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire is but one example of top tier French cuisine outside the capital. As it is also a very special and exquisitely beautiful boutique hotel it can be a great place for a very special celebration or treat! A guided tour of the kitchens which is free if pre-booked is mind-blowing.
As a parisian i don t understand your comment. Paris is much more diverse about restaurant than london. Nothing close to the chinese district of Paris in London. Arabic, indian food and Very good italian restaurant everywhere. Huge Turkisk or african district in fact it is quite difficult yo find french restaurant. You have to go in touristic place. Its just a legend back to the sixties when london was much more diverse than Paris
Whilst being technically correct, It's very misleading to say that Paris has a population of 2.1 million. The administrative boundary of Paris is roughly contained within La Périphérique. However, this only comprises the central core of what most people would consider to be 'Paris'. In the real world sense, the Paris contiguous urban area is huge and extends well beyond some arbitrary city boundary. To give it some context, the population of Île-de-France is over 12 million, of which most reside in the contiguous Paris urban area.
Are you sure you aren't talking about the city of Paris rather than it's metropolitan area? Greater London is 600 sq miles it makes sense to compare Paris metropolitan area to Greater London rather than just the official city limits.
I agree with you. Plus People always confuse Greater London with the City. For anyone interested. The actual City of London is 1.12 sq miles with a resident population of less than 10,000 people. Governed by the City of London Corporation. The City boundary is marked by statues of Dragons. City of Westminster and all the non city parts are governed by the Greater London Authority.
I'm actually going to be in both cities in a couple weeks. The first time I went to Paris, The people were very nice to me even though my French is very limited
I used to cook a lot of French food in the 70s but I think it’s fairly limited. I now cook a lot Italian food, but London is an amazing city for global cuisine. How do you have the best Indian food outside of the Indian continent?
With all due respect… I think its like comparing apple and oranges.I would say London is more like lil older version of New york…. Paris is far far historic… as it was mostly untouched during WW2…. London is lot more concrete and steel more like Newyork or German cities… Also the vistor number shows the difference…. Paris gets close to 40 mil visitor vs london gets about 20. Which clearly shows which city has the upperhand. Paris is more comparable to Barcelona and Rome. Also most visited tourist attractions in europe are in places like Paris / Rome /Barcelona and Istanbul…. London is far far farrrrrrrr behind on them too…. your statement about that is incorect….Love your videos… Keep up the good work
Not a problem! I used to work for an American student tour company and by far our most sold tour was London, Paris Rome! So maybe it’s just Americans who desire to visit both London and Paris so much!! Maybe individually like the Eiffel Tower, but London does have more attractions that are some of the top visited in all of Europe!! :)
There are some inaccuracies in your statement. The comparison is between Greater London and historical Paris of the 19th century, while the Paris metropolitan area currently has a population of approximately 11 million. It's important to note that Saint Denis Church, Malmaison, the medieval Château de Vincennes, and Versailles are not located within Paris but rather in the suburbs. The size difference between the two metropolitan areas should also be considered when making comparisons. So, you are mistaken about UNESCO because, for you, Versailles is not in Paris, but Kew Gardens is London. The main point is that you have not understood that the entire bank of the Seine River is part of the UNESCO heritage. You have to understand that all the monuments along the Seine are unique: the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides, the Alexander III Bridge, the Pont Neuf, the Louvre Palace, the Place de la Concorde, the Invalides, the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais, the Sainte Chapelle, and Notre Dame of Paris, all theses monuments are in fact classified by Unesco. Nothing to compare with london. Idem for museums paris is full of big museum. The louvre alone is the british museum, national gallery end victoria and albert. 3 mornings to visit the different parts would be nice, Unfortunately it is expensive, i like the fact that in London the bigs museums are free so you go whenever you want
Do you really think that 9 million people around Paris have no transportation system? Do you know that the business center of Paris is not in Paris? Maybe you should get a map. I have lived in London and can see the difference. In many parts of London, you have to take the train, especially in the south bank. You don't have the equivalent of the RER. Have you been to Versailles, Disneyland Paris, or La Défense? I have. You be. @JohnnyZenith
@@JohnnyZenithThe term 'metropolitan area' is arbitrary and without unanymity; so is of little use as a comparison tool. For instance, some analysts use a conceptual approach and cite London's metropolitan area as being anywhere within a commuter catchment area. This has led to outlandish claims of it stretching all the way to Dorset! On this basis, why not also include Leeds? Clearly, this is an absurd notion and I use it to demonstrate a point. What we can do, however, is compare their respective contiguous urban areas. If we use this approach then the following are true: 1. Paris is slightly larger in population than London. 2. London is larger in terms of area, but is more fragmented and less densely built. I would say looking at a scale to scale comparison on Google Earth gives a great overview.
