- A bash of metal, fiberglass and a whole lot of brap - this is a highlight of all things RX-7. A purpose built car taken from the track and tamed for the streets, this iconic engine soundtrack can be heard distinctly.
The story one of the earliest JDM imports into North America unfolds as Matt takes us through his journey of owning an ex-Stillway/RE-Amemiya built RX-7. From numerous stories - From winning the car auction to rebuilding his first 13B motor his story is one unique to RX-7 ownership. He brings some personal flavour into his build through the choice in body colour and aero additions.
One word to describe Matt is: Eccentric. His energy and excitement of owning his RX-7 was apparent through our time spending this video. Through the good and the bad of the RX-7 owner's experience there will always be a love for his car. This is his car life story.
Special thanks to Matt for the additional footage

I am proud this man actually takes the car to the track instead of turning it into another stanced FD.
I agree. Stance looks cool, but no functionality.
+kcdnhntr slammed is stance..... excessive camber, being so low you can barely get over things, that's all stance, and it's not very functional. There may be a such thing as "functional stance" with minimal camber and slightly lowered, but the object of stance is never function.
widespread use of stance is usually directed to slammed cars. technically, stance is the fitment of the wheels, thus it being called "square stance" and "staggered stance." square stance is when you're running the same size wheel on all sides and staggered is the opposite.
@@JustKyzuuh lol you sound dumb af lowering camber all that has advantages learn how gravity effects cars and such
@@mracidman2536 I'm afraid you are the dumb one here. A very slight camber has benefits for certain situations. No form of driving requires more than a few degrees. Especially cruising around on the streets in your Honda. Stance is not functional, so don't act like it is.
One of the dislikes is the dude who lost the auction.
Rx-7 owner here. Long live the Rotary!
EXTREME SCALE PERFORMANCE RC please tell me is it very expensive to keep the rx7?
Yeah buddy! Another fd owner here! 610bhp and braps like crazy! Rotors forever!!
Sahl Ebrahim yes it is. I own one. If its just been rebuilt or its very low mileage (25k or less) you might be ok. Fuel consumption is very high
MrDreamer60 also about the Engine i heard its not that reliable
Sahl Ebrahim i ve owned 2 fds. Both I service every 6 months and check oil every 4 fill ups. And regardless of how well maintained they ve been I ve found reliability a lottery. Sometimes you can gl a year with zero issues. Other times it can break down every 4 uses due to minor things like hoses coming off. Generally the lower the mileage (25k miles or less) or more recent the rebuild the better off you ll be.
Matts mindset is absolutely spot on. He is the absolute true definition of a rotary enthusiast. He just gets it. You bleed, sweat, swear and cry for these cars but in that moment you are behind the wheel it doesn't matter any more. It's your rx7 and it's a living extension of you. Our cars and mindsets are literally identical.
The sound of this rx7 is just awesome :-O Beautiful bodykit as well!
+Mc Terb brap brap brap brap
May I ask which company do u use to import the rx7, cuz I want to import one for myself in Vancouver too
Midnight purple is such an awesome colour. Its low key but under the right conditions it just pops! That's the reason why my S14 is also that colour :)
you definitely deserve more subscribers. keep going mate!
+Chen Wei Thanks! We try our best :)
agree
You guys NEED to make more videos. I discovered this channel yesterday, and I was so bummed to find only a few vids. The quality of your videos so awesome. I loved the intro to the Subie video, that was so rad and inspiring. More please!
Love the car and owner! I can really appreciate his experience and you guys need more subs!
SE guys, great work. The story, sound and film come together very well in this. Please keep up with this quality product you are putting out, your passion shows.
Great video. Keep them coming! The FD'S are an amazing machine! Always have been, always will be. Yours is a perfect example of what they are. It's great to see that you actually use it for what it's for and that it's not just for car shows. Great job!
Awesome video and awesome car/owner combo. You can tell he really cares for his car. Love seeing these videos. No matter the make or model, you can tell these people really have a passion for their rides.

This generation RX7 is the Most Beautiful car in the Whole World!!!!!!!!!!! Great well done Video! Excellent speaking abilities.

also amazing job there with the video!
This deserves way more attention, you sir make a great job!
Your videos are so inspiring!
This has been my dream car for so long. It's perfect.
It's juts the best 8 minutes I spent on the internet today. Just epic!
Excelnt video on owning an RX7 FD on my second lump and at 540bhp at the wheels what can I say. My friend has a Lambo and he spends 3Gs on a gear box rebuild every other service, so i know the cost of the power i get is cheap.
Well done and keep it up!
glad to see you guys back
Man I love this channel. Y'all deserve a lot more subscribers and we wanna see more videos but your videos are great!
from a rotary owner. respect bro.i have an fc and she's a beauty but that fd is a show stopper
The sound quality in all the videos is on point.
I noticed takeda enterprises decals all over, I have pictures of this car when it was yellow along side takedas r32 which I now own
One Word Passion
I've Only Wanted to Own 2 Cars
1. 1993 BMW e30 Convertible
2. Mazda FD Rx7
i love the part he said he wanted less attention LOLOLOL
Anazing build. Hope to see more about the car in the future!
The car looks straight out of Need for Speed.
But better
Beautiful car and it's being driven like it should.
im in the process of selling my JDM evo8, and this hits me in the feels so hard... arghghhghh !
please make more videos.
i became an instant fan by watching this one video.
Insane car, pretty nice video and I like the owner too !
i sold mine.dumb but like a fine wine u sound like u really appreciate this stunning car.better looking than a ferrari or porche or lambo man very well made video.nice thanx for sharing.
first video i watched of your channel and forsure am subscribing been looking to watch more videos like this ty for your content
awesome man inspires me not to sell my FD. as i still love driving the car after 16 years of ownership but now i just have no time. minor electronic issues hamper my enthusiasm about my car. worst of all the lack of rotary mechanics near my area.
This vid makes me wanna take my fd for a ride, but it is still a project. Top inspirational vid
Love the track footage. Badass RX-7 bro!
this channel is insane. props!
dude your rx7 it's so beautiful am serious it's gorgeous
just realized he keeps his keys in a rotor. bc racecar
that kit is literally the fucking dream man. good for this dude. looks like he really enjoys it!
Awesome video, your best one yet!
the video and the car are beautiful. Also, the music is so good. Gives me "in the face of evil" vibes.
Great video series! Keep up the good work! Maybe one day I'll get my car up here.
That is one of the Best RX7's i have seen yet in Japan! 1 sub
Great work!
Where was this filmed?
Vancouver BC Canada
Track focus hell yeah!! 😎👍👍
Check out how bad the rotor looks @ 5:32. The apex seal groove looks chipped and rotor side has severe scuffing. If this engine is being build with rotors in that condition, its no wonder you are going through many engines.
beautiful car best wishes on more upgrades in the future
Are you going to update soon? Quality is mesmerizing.
please more videos like this frequently i love this content
wow...that drifting footage was amazing...I felt like i was there!
+Matt Whitmire now this music TOTALLY worked. hot
This car is hot. Beautifully done video. Congrats!
I feel the same way about my stupid Mazda. Damn thing is so finicky. Something is always breaking, but 13 years later I still have it even after wanting to sell it so many times. All the quirks just give it character and is what makes you love the car so much.
Wow great film. Cool owner as well. Makes me want an rx7 now!
This is doooooopppppeeeeeeeeee. Awesome video
this the way i feel about my 2005 Subaru STi just love it and its all stock still
Beautiful car she's lovely! Looks even nicer at night.
From whom did you import the car? and for how much if u dont mind me asking? hehe
This FD3S actually reminds me of either 2 things RE Amemiya and a RX7 from Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero either from a Wanderer called Late Night Cinderella ... but with that said Keep up the good work I wonder what camera you use for your film i love the whole dark filter effect looks really legit
why so many engines? used or new parts? measured every tolerance? tuning issues?
happy to hear that its Rotary
I understand the love for the rotary, and wanting to keep it original, but damn... 4 engines!!
I was curious on whether he would say the time between each motor that he went through...
awesome! You guys know Keith Lau at GT Turismo in Richmond? What's the song name?
Gone threw 3 engines in the car! Damn where you getting the ca$h from?
That's what I wanna know too
+Poon Handler Cause RX7
+J Lang the question was about cash not rotatary
Butthurt
+J Lang pay attention to what I say or you'll pay
awesome vid awesome car.

Just found this channel, instant sub!
I'm glad I didn't go to bed just yet!
I love Mazda RX-7!!! It's one of my favourite cars!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😉😁
This was very pro! Keep it up!
I sold my first FD and just purchased my second one! I also live in BC, have you ever had any problems with your exhaust or body kit as far as VI's go?
Where in Vancouver is that tunnel area? It looks like a cool place for a drive
Do you guys still have the car now?
Much love on the video.
JM
Great videos, keep em coming...
Oh you definitely earned my subscription!

Why so many motors?? I own the same car. 93 fd touring switch to r1.
True rotary enthusiast
Is there anywhere I can download the song?
Man what camera is this Sony,Nikon or Canon ?

Great video
Any Specs on the Hood Vents/Catches?
nice vid... kudos to the owner....really nice work man....attention to detail and balance....#InitialD #FD #DK
great video, but some of the night shots were way too dark and the post processing made was a bit too much
