Reflecting on his performance, Benavidez, who extended his unblemished record to 24-0, remarked, “I assess my performance fairly positively, although I believe I could have performed even better. Ronald Ellis proved to be a resilient opponent. I hope the fans enjoyed the spectacle. I unleashed numerous combinations and maintained a high volume of punches. There were instances where I anticipated Ellis might concede, but he persisted. Credit to him for his toughness. Benavidez, who rose to prominence as the youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history, delivered a virtuoso performance, evident in his punch statistics. He landed 289 of 532 power punches thrown, boasting an impressive connection rate of 54%. Notably, Benavidez landed 50 punches in the 11th round, ultimately leading to the stoppage. Both fighters collectively threw 1,403 punches. Following his commanding triumph on SHOWTIME, Benavidez moves one step closer to reclaiming a super middleweight world title.
