As a pregnant person I fully empathise with Honey and being too uncomfortable to sleep in anything but the weirdest positions 😂
Congratulations and I hope your delivery is as successful as Honey's!
Just not as prolific!
Yes all the best. I remember asking after a very pregnant work friend who had just taken maternity leave. Her SIL said: "Both of the dresses that still fit are on the washing line so when I left she was sitting in the middle of the lounge room naked crying." May all go smoothly for you and comfy clothes fit!!!
I had twins I can relate. By the end you're trying to find positions that you can sleep and breathe at the same time 😂that's what I was picking up in her I need these babies out asap clip!
@laurenmorriseidson4009 i had twins too. Super super uncomfortable and they were both over 7lbs each!
This was totally me last November waiting for my December baby 😅 I swear I didn't sleep at all for the last month of my pregnancy. When they gave me the epidural I literally fell asleep until my contractions were so intense that I woke up. Best sleep I had the entire pregnancy 😂
“Home is where the pants aren’t.” -Ed 😆
And I sure don't wear a bra at home, so I'm kinda surprised Emily said she's wearing one, lol.
@@VidralliaArchivesbras are so uncomfortable
@@Melon.40fr
Ed is a man of wisdom.
@@VidralliaArchives I always wear a bra at home 🤷♀️ to each their own ig
I will never get tired of hearing Emily explain why they take the eggs away from the snakes. It is so nice for new people to know that the animals are being respected and well cared for.
Love your excitement!! Looks like a great clutch of eggs❤❤❤❤❤
I wonder how long she will go to wrap around them for once they are removed?
@@BrightEyesEmif you wash the egg scent off she will stop around a few weeks or so at least that is what a ball python breeder on RUclips who has very similar principles to SnakeDiscovery does. Since these snakes don’t eat when brooding
I had to take my baby bunnies away from the mom she was killing them so I understand that
@@ourfamilysvarietyshow bunnies are a bit different compared to pythons for one pythons like the one in the video don’t eat or drink to protect and incubate her offspring while a rabbit doesn’t due to her offspring being inside her as they develop. Then rabbits also only eat their young when stressed, lacking milk for all or lack certain nutrients in her diets especially calcium and iron. In the rabbits case you separate them for the baby’s safety first ball pythons are more for the mother’s sake plus an incubator can more evenly incubate the eggs and allows for the breeder to monitor the condition of the eggs and make spread of mold from sick to healthy eggs. Kinda similar with rabbits on that front. Like the mother python doesn’t eat during brooding so it can cause severe weight lost and health issues in the wild this is just what needs to be done so the mother does it but we can do it more efficiently and without risk to the mother so breeders separate once the egg smell is gone they do then to forget they had eggs though
Every parent after this video, “why doesn’t my remote work, where’s the batteries?”
😂 LOL. Right you are!
😂😂 Sorry
😂😂😂
Lol you’re so right 😂
Unless it is like in our household where I follow SD and kids walk by the living room tv ”huoh another snakevideo? You don’t even have a snake”
For reference, the average adult, female ball python is around 2,000 grams (4.4 lbs). Assuming that each egg is 100 grams, Honey was carrying 1,000 grams (2.2 lbs) of eggs inside of her, or HALF her body weight. The average adult female is around 75kg (165 lbs), so that would be the equivalent of having 37.5 kg (82 lbs) worth of baby inside of you. Go Honey!
It's a good thing it's not that way. I know I for one would have never had kids 😂 thanks for the breakdown, it really drives honeys fed up pregnant look home 👍
no wonder she was uncomfortable 😅
No wonder she's uncomfortable. I bet she's relieved to get them all out.
Isn’t that a similar ratio of egg mass to mother body with kiwis? ( i know kiwis have a single huge egg that is half the volume of the mothers body)
Woah! That's nuts!
Wow I've heard Ball Pythons go "belly up" when gravid but I never realized that term was so literal!
Honey trying to get comfortable during her last week of gravid-ity is EXTREMELY relatable
FINALLY!!! I realize I will never see Snake discovery the same after meeting them in real life and having the embarrassment of my mom asking for Ed to sign her squash. My life is weird. Not sure what else to say. But I'm very happy for them! BABY SNAKES 🐍🎉
Ed to sign her squash what? I want the full story!!!
@@Pineaple_ it's not to long of a story. A vendor at the Dallas NARBC just gave my mom a squash. Why did they have a squash? Idk. But we had a friend with us so as a prank I was getting a signed hat, and my mom asked for Ed to sign the squash. We still have it in our fridge. So yeeeaaa...... we all had a long laugh about that. It's clearly my prized
possession 😅
@Shadowcraft_1 and why does that mean you'll never see them again?
@@ThePhoenixUnderwater oops, lol. Ment to say I'll never see them the same again. Autocorrect
Lmao I just turned to Ed and asked "Did you sign a squash?" and he immediately said "Yeah, why?" as if it was a totally normal thing 😂 Wish I had a chance to sign random produce 🤣
Please don’t apologize for not wearing make up. You look really good without make up, and are a great example to the other girls out there!
I agree.
I try to never make personal comment about creators, but I totally agree with you about Emily.
I actually like her "look" without makeup more.
I think it's because I saw her so many more times without makeup first/before I saw her with.
Tbh i dont see a difference regardless.
@@catrice1296she is very natural with it. Literally some concealer and eyeliner she said before
I'm waiting for Ed to apologise for not wearing makeup 😂
Honestly, I didn't even notice the difference 🤷♀️
Honey was like“Where’s my babies?” after those eggs were taken out by Emily. What a good mama she is🥹
I love the growth in confidence from Ed since the beginning of this channel. Like one of the first fan mail opening videos he’s refusing to go on camera and all embarrassed that he’s in his boxers when Emily turns the camera around, and now he’s more interactive and like “oh yeah I’m not wearing pants” lol.
I think he's always owned that moment, but I like to see this story arc continue
Honey is such a good mama! Her name is totally perfect not only for her color but for her personality. Gosh, I just love how sweet (and adorable) ball pythons are.
I want to thank Snake Discovery for teaching me about snakes. I just found a brownsnake when I was mowing the lawn and saved it from the neighbor's cat ... because this channel taught me to appreciate reptiles and to not be afraid. I always think about Nearly Headless Nick when I mow the lawn and look for any noodles that might be in danger. 💚🐍
I love how Emily looked ready for bad news and then Ed flipped the phone and her face lit up!
The algorithm sure is pushing videos of ball pythons breeders whose ball pythons get always so aggressive when they take their eggs out - it's so wonderful to see that Honey seems to trust Emily so much and stay pretty calm!
Sitting here hugely gravid myself and I sympathize with Honey so much! Big eggs have got to hurt!
Congratulations! I hope your delivery goes as well as Honey's!
🎉 🐍 🎉 🐍 🎉
My husband and I got a pastel female ball python as our first snake as a married couple. We now have seven snakes total and our first girl is still the sweetest most wonderful angel of the bunch.
Corn snakes used to be my favorite, but I ended up taking in a young ball python that had been in incredibly poor health due to their owner's lack of snake knowledge, and the inquisitiveness along with their calm personality just made me fall in love with the snake. I named them Argo (for Jason and the Argonauts), and ball pythons are my favorite snakes now because of them--I never learned their gender.
"ZZS" is just how a snake snores! ;)
Egg season has begun!!! 😆 and so many eggs, she looked so cute wrapped about them.
That would be a cute pin!
@@alicecain4851 Or T-shirt, mug, sticker, cell phone cover....
Emily's excitement is crazy infectious.
"Hopefully no spiders come out of these snake eggs!"
I know what this is in reference to...but still lol
Presumably the spider morph, where the black coloured regions thin out into spidery bands. I presume they accidentally bred the spider morph last year. Spider is a morph associated with neurological conditions ('spider wobble'), so I can't imagine Snake Discovery would plan to breed it intentionally.
Yeah, without contex its hilarious.
@@gigabyte2248you’re half right lol. Female snakes can end up breeding with multiple males and their babies will have seperate dads. When Emily had her rhinosplasty surgery she was a little off because of pain medication and because their banana pastel male (Banana Bread) and their spider male (Topsy Turvy) look so similar in color she accidentally put Topsy in the bin with Honey. One of the employees moved Topsy out and put Banana Bread in, but in the short time Topsy and Honey ended up breeding with each other. When the employee put Banana in there he also bred with Honey. So half of the clutch was Bananas and half was Topsy’s
@doodledogdrawings From what I remember, four snakes were from Banana, two were from Topsy
The little look into their everyday nighttime life. 😄
Emily cozy in PJ's, reading a book. The excited 'socks on woodflooring drift' through the door.
The head popout to remind Ed of pants. And the pan down to Eds lovely pantless legs 😆
I don't even have reptiles, or plan to have any, but these guys are so much fun to follow I can't help it. 🤣
What an awesome way to end the week. Its baby time!
Emily: Lets go lets go!
Ed: I guess that means....we're going to the shop.
GOOD JOB MAMA!
INSTEAD OF LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE...ITS EGGY EGGY NO PANTS ON LEGGY! LOL!
😂
I hope Ed sees this
"Home is where the pants aren't." Ed's new slogan for a shirt.😂 I'd totally buy it!
YAY a ball python clutch! This is a good way to end the day :) I'm so happy to watch this before I fall asleep. She is such a beautiful ball python.
Yeah
@@Wolf_Therian7309 I love the sudden videos that Emily and Ed post right as I"m about to go to bed. Helps me sleep better. :)
@@xXMidnightUndeadXx the pain killers
Are you asleep?
Same ❤
I had 3 natural births.
I can't imagine 10 - at the same time!
Huge eggs!
Congratulations, Honey and Banana Bread!
Can't wait to see your colorful clutch of babies!
"You're lucky I'm just wearing a bra" is my whole weekend mood lol
Truly I respect her so much for that
When the eggs hatch you should weigh the babies to see how heavy they are in comparison to their eggs! It’d be fun to see how much they’ve grown
That would be interesting
This would be so cool to know
In Emily’s defense, I totally saw the drawing as a bed immediately. ☺️
Ed and Emily came into my shop in Amarillo texas a few days ago! I was in shock and wish I would have said more to you guys! You have been a huge inspiration to me and im honored that yall chose my shop. I see the hour glass Ed! Lol
From watching Kinova over the yrs they wash the mom off with small amount of soap, and thoroughly clean the enclosure to remove the egg scent. He says it encourages momma back on food...
Ooh that's a great idea!!
Kudos to Michel, excellence in editing, your talent really helps this site. Love to Emily and Ed and all the scale babies.🐍💖👍👍😉
Amazing how quickly both Ed and Emily go from chillin to go mode for their animals/babies. They are the best 👌 ❤
I JUST MET YALL IN DALLAS AND IVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED! THANK YOU FOR THAT! Also such a beautiful ball python with eggies!!🎉
30 seconds in, and I'm hooked. Eric's almost resigned "I guess this means we're going to the shop" followed by Emily's excitement, then Emily leaning out of the bedroom "You might want to put on some pants, though."
You got me to look up spider morph - it's rare for you to deliberately try to avoid a morph - but now I understand. And totally agree! Neurological problems are bad.
Its egg laying season! 10 beautiful ball python eggs to start it out. Honey is such an overachiever
This is my dream place! Emily, Ed, you're such great people. I don't exaggerate anything, you guys are funny, friendly, and you take care of so many animals! I hope all the eggs hatch safely and healthily. Have a good day, from Ed.2.
Ooh, a video on what new literature says about various snake husbandry practices would be super interesting.
It’s literally 8:45 pm when Emily decides to drag Ed to the zoo 😂
That’s what 20:45 is okay i was confused what it was thank you delicious pineapple
It’s so strange to see glimpses of your house lol. I remember the days before you had the zoo, but we rarely see your house anymore 😂
Can I just say the quality of the channel and the joy it brings increased exponentially ever since Ed has become more present on it. I love seeing you both interact and your personalities. Power couple goals!
I helped a turtle cross the road yesterday, I did it just like you guys taught us. I picked up the turtle, making sure not to disorient him from the way he was going, and simply took him the rest of his way. 😊
I literally stopped traffic yrs ago to help one cross the road, it's a great feeling isn't it ❤
I remember a time when snakes scared me. Before finding Snake Discovery about 3-4 years ago. Now I really like them and I have even held a few snakes at exhibits without being afraid.
I’m loving this multi-episode arc of No-Pants Ed!
💯 % true statement! 👍
I love how excited Emily is! So cool! And the fact that she draws beautifully upside down! Love the theme! Great job Honey! Proud momma!❤
Working on your day off is par for the course when you work for yourself... Also i never get over how deflated big snakes look after they have laid their eggs.
Emily: "You should probably put some pants on before we go"
Ed (reluctently): "Oh yeah, I should probably do that"
Anyone who’s ever been 8 or 9 months pregnant can probably relate to Honey’s difficulty in finding a comfortable position, lol.
My kid is a teenager, but seeing Honey like that gave me flashbacks to being pregnant. 😆
Congratulations on Honey and Banana Bread’s eggs! I’m really excited to see their babies! 🐍 🐍 🐍
AHHH I LOVE SEEING THE CLUTCH COIL! WHERE MAMMY SNAKE CIRCLES AROUND HER BABY EGGIES
Ed not wearing pants is such a funny bit im glad it’s continuing onward through videos
You do so good on drawing on the eggs. That is great . You can do it upside-down. I can't draw anyway .I can't wait till they get here.
I kinda wish they would name the snakes based on what they put on the eggs. Silly but would be kinda funny too.
Crescent
Marshmallow (I promise there's a reason for this)
Sheep
Mask
Pillow Talk
Slipper
Timezone (Alarm Clock would be a silly name for a snake.. But I won't judge you for it)
Teacup
Lampshade
Snoozy
I think cause the babies mix themselves up once they get out it would be really hard to match babies to their specific eggs but it would be cool if they kept any from the clutch if they kept with the original clutch drawing theme. I especially like Crescent, Marshmallow and Snoozy. I think Snoozy the snake would be so cute but it would have to be a particularly laid back snake to earn the name
What a good Mama!!! She’s so lovely!
Hey I went to that reptile show where you were I was gonna say hi but I got to nervous I’m not kidding I literally started crying when I saw you I have been watching you since I was 5 years old I love you guys so much❤❤
I love ball python clutches. It's like unboxing they're so varied.
Don't worry Ed, I also thought it looked like an hourglass! And I understood immediately what you meant (maybe because I had the same thought?)
Me too. Immediately understood what he was talking about but I'm kinda obsessed with hourglasses so maybe that's why lol
4:00 I like how Emily says. I'll take very good care of your babies as she accidentally looses grip on one. But we all know the eggs are in good hands
i got to visit the zoo today and had such a lovely time!! i found glass frog eggs too!!! it was so cool!
Congratttsss!! I’m breeding my two ball pythons rn, and she’s in her lay box!!
Mines are normal ball python x Banana ball python!
What morphs, if any?
Yay!!! 🎉 congrats to momma snake. I love how Emily jumped so fast off the sofa out of excitement ❤ love you guys!!
I had a person come out of me! It was a pretty small person, but he gave me dozens and dozens of stitches. My stepmom guessed 70 stitches and the delivery doctor was like “yeah sure... Let's go with that!” implying the number was actually likely much higher. She said she lost count pretty early in.
It's lucky that honey doesn't need any stitches then. If one person did that to you, imagine TEN people
@@mimisezlol I think it isn't so bad because eggs don't have shoulders. They don't have bones at all. In my case my kid decided to change position while I was giving birth. He changed position to where his shoulders got stuck. After one nurse and the doctor tried pulling him out, while another nurse literally jumped up and down while pushing on my stomach, he proceeded to do what the doctor _helpfully_ referred to as “corkscrewed” out. Then came a full half hour of being stitched.
Frick shoulders! 😂 lol.
bro Emily was like a lil child on christmas when she saw the eggs on the phone
I immediately thought hour glass when Ed was explaining 😂
Eggscelent news! Emily's excitement is contagious! Wishing you a wonderful week, Snake Discovery!
Congratulations Honey on your 2nd clutch of 10 eggs!!🎊 we love you Honey! ♥️
How did the spider morph babies from her last clutch turn out? I know Emily and Ed were concerned about neurological issues
I was wondering the same thing. I know they had said they were holding onto them unless they found them a good place to go.
Omg I have never related to a snake more than her trying to be comfortable while pregnant lol
Both parents are GORGEOUS, I can't wait to see bebehs! Good job Mama Honey!
It's so absolutely wonderful how Emily still gets super excited for snake eggs even after breeding for so many years.
I for one definitely don't mind that you're in PJ's Em!!!! You're fine!!!! Not the first time we have seen you in PJ's or with no make-up!!!
Yay, baby ball pythons!!!!
I imagine these eggs are like the babies that are too big, and my god, Honey deserves everything. My own niece was too big for my sister to naturally give birth to, I cannot imagine having TEN OVERSIZED BABIES in any creatures body good lord. Hope her recovery goes well and that she eats well. Cross your fingers for healthy babies everyone!
I understand the 'coming into work on your day off' bit. Did that for 30 years kids. What a lovely clutch of eggs.
OMG SO EXCITED! I love y'alls conent so much and y'all have been a huge inspo for me to get into reptile keeping :3
Always right on time with sneks >:)
Literally felt like watching snake discovery today, and then they posted 😁
I love how she’s curled around her eggs it’s so cute!
I knew what all the doodles were but have to mention the teacup + saucer are perfect!!
I have been waiting for the next ball python video as one who owns one it always makes me happy ❤❤
Lol ed was like oh yeah I need pants
Thank you for mentioning the new findings about the embryo and the eggs rolling. I havent researched it but im keen to! I appreciate that you guys mentioned it.
You guys are so cute!! I love the excitement y'all have. I think of Emily every time I stop at Buc-ee's in Crossville, driving from Knoxville to Southern middle TN. They actually had the big beaver in the store at my last visit.
Love the educational value to the channel & enthusiasm y'all have for your animals. One of these days, I'm going to make it to the zoo!!
Thanks for a great channel!!
I love watching your videos!! You two are awesome! Wish you would put more videos out not like you dont have enough on your plate with the store and other places to go. Thank you for all you do!! Please keep the videos comingike more pretty pkease!
OMG YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!,I pray that we don't get any spiders this year
U mean slugs
@@Acruelsummer604 no, they mean spider morphs - last year Honey was accidentally paired with Topsy Turvy (a spider morph) along with Banana Bread (due to Emily being on massive painkillers). Spider morphs have neurological issues and since snakes can hold onto sperm, they're hoping that all of the eggs this year are from Banana Bread.
This week we received our very first snake. A baby BEL (super mojave) Ball Python female we've named Cordelia. The entire process of building her bioactive enclosure up to receiving her in the mail was influenced by Emily, Ed, & Snake Discovery videos. I have watched every single video on the channel at least once and without you it would not have been possible (Ophidiophobia sufferer). The fact that this week, the BIG week, the Friday SD video is featuring Banana Bread & Honey and their future babies is a full circle moment. Thank you so much for all you do and the joy you spread!
Love the name Cordelia, it’s also my youngest daughter’s name.
Wow what a good girl! 10 eggs is massive for ball pythons, especially being that she’s not super huge. Awesome clutch and awesome momma ball python, shout out to honey ❤️ 🍯

I love y’all’s RUclips channel i have been watching for 4 years! One of my dreams is to go to your zoo!!❤❤❤
The joy of vicariously keeping snakes. I couldnt have one, my cats wouldvreally want to eat it.
Looking forward to the first baby hatching videos.
Same. I've 2 indoor cats. I Love Banana Bread's color (and name). The reptiles I'm drawn most to keeping our Emerald tree skinks. But that would just be courting disaster with my two indoor dedicated hunters.
I have the opposite problem to you! I’ve got a snake and two geckos so it’s a no go for a cat for me, which sucks because I love them.
My aunt and grandma would probably disown me.
