Absolutely yes! The best of both worlds I would say. My 08 indeed is! Leave the pavement, hit the woods , and play on the salty flats from Uruguay, and don't forget a lil bit of sand 👍

It is listed as a dual sport not an adventure bike.. they are way too heavy.. the t7 is 30 lbs lighter and has twice the engine.. the klr650 is slow and doesn't do well at 70mph for long trips its made for 55mph or less

It's a Adventure Touring bike. No industrial designer would put a 6+ gallon fuel tank on a dual-sport. Also, there's nothing sporty about it. It's a top heavy boat anchor. It's not modern. It has 5hp more than my lawn mower. I bought a new KLR650 ABS in '22 (identical to the one in the video), had two recalls done on it (fuel pump and KACR) and didn't ride it in 2023. These are fine bikes for people who want to try moto camping.

Agreed. Not a true dual sport. Perhaps the maxi dual sport?

I bought a 2022 really wanted to like the bike. Did lots of research before i bought it, should have never sold my RX3 China bike. The fuel injection was never right, the China bike was better engineered.

@@willyroussel3563 Back in 2016 I put 100 miles on a '13 KLR loaner bike and loved it.
The new '22 model is so much heavier that it's a completely different bike. On gravel roads it just keeps sliding and sliding. It's very top heavy. I thought the stock tires were to blame but I wore those out and put really good knobbies on it and it made no difference.
I bought a '23 V-Strom 800DE exactly one year after buying the KLR and the difference is night and day. The V-Stom feels like a 400lb bike when getting it off the side stand while the KLR feels like a 600lb bike.
The KLR is a pig. It's not a "bad" bike but almost everything is better and not much more $$$.

      Completely unnecessary.

Never had one. Would've been nice sometimes to stop finding the 7th gear.😀
