  • In this episode, Lauri's family history leads us to Toba, a fascinating fishing port on the Ise Peninsula. Our visit to the Toba Sea Folk Museum gave us wonderful insight into life here. We were also very moved by the Ama divers demonstration at Mikimoto Pearl Island and our brief stop at a local Toba festival. Toba is a very special place and we really enjoyed our time here. There is so much more to discover that we will have to come back.
Many thanks to my pal Jeff Wills, who scored all the music this week!

Great episode! Loved the museum - would be amazing to visit with all those wooden boats and the expansive variety of sea creatures. So nice to see the coastal areas of Japan not often seen. Thanks!
