Bro, THANK YOU! I've had this car for 5 months and my owners manual has been a coffee table book as I try to figure stuff out and go fish in the book to hopefully find what I'm looking for. This video will be saved for as long as I own this car! Thanks again, Steve.
Thanks for explaining what the advanced car settings (available in the instrument cluster menu) do. Aside from listing the actual menu item titles, the manual does little to explain what these options mean!
You're welcome! That's the big reason why I started shooting these videos. The manual is ok but actually seeing it helps people figure out what's going on
Hello, I have yhe 2020 mustang gt 5.0 premium package 401a package, i accidentally saved the mods, normal track, sport, etc, how do you opt out of this feature?
All of these features are so cool! I'm hoping to own a Mustang someday, but with the prices that they are, I'm probably gonna have to get one from Copart and rebuild it, which means I probably won't be able to find a wrecked one that has all the cool features you showed in this video, since the safe and smart features are literally meant to prevent wrecks lol
Chances are good you'll probably see some in the spring but a rebuild would be awesome to see! I was thinking a restomod.. Use a 2024 Mustang's guts and give it a classic '67 Shelby style
Incredibly thorough video. Do you know if it's possible to switch the exhaust mode to Sport and save it in MyMode so I don't have to change it every time I start the car? My 2020 Mustang doesn't seem to save it. I know I can't do this with Track mode but you'd think it would be possible for Sport.
Hopefully it was helpful at least! For the MyMode.. set everything up the way you want. Cluster appearance, exhaust mode etc.. then press and hold one of the driver seat memory buttons. Turn the car off then back on again and everything should be saved
You need to have active exhaust to get all of the different modes.. I haven't seen anyone successfully install active valve aftermarket either with the same functionality as the factory option
Hi Steve I'm having trouble going back to the large numerals on my speedo it's showing like in your video at the 7.55 mark and it has a little car come up as I get closer to vehicles ahead of me in my lane I want to disengage it but can't seem to work out how
There's a button on the tip of the left stick that'll turn the lane keeping system off. When you turn it off that should open up the larger speedo numbers!
@@CarsWithSteve thanks I actually had my distance indication activated on my pre-collision assist I just got the car and it was setup like that it drove me nuts all weekend all good now your videos are great
Exploring the pony button, I somehow turned on images on my instrument panel that indicates I'm in normal drive and normal steering. Now I can't figure out how to remove them. Can you help?
It's through the Sync3 screen. Go to Settings --> General Settings and you should see the option to reset FordPass or Factory Reset, do the full factory reset
My Mustang is non premium therefor I don’t have a mycolor feature on the dash however if I switch to a digital dash will I be able to use mycolor on it?
If your Mustang is in auto mode for the light switch, it moves high beams to the auto mode which means the high beams will come on as needed. To keep them on, get out of auto mode and then push the left stick away from you
Oh just realized I misspoke in the video. It's not a start/stop function. It's to prevent the engine from sitting idle for too long - so with the setting turned on the engine will automatically turn off after a set time
I wish it was easier to move from exhaust (pony button) back to gauges. Sometimes it’s a pain when you get inside certain menus from tire pressure to gauges
Well I did touch it lol.. but you're right in this video I missed mentioning it! If you have the heated steering wheel, you can turn it on through the infotainment system in the climate tab. I cover off the infotainment system in this video: ruclips.net/video/FN_JDsJOkR4/видео.html
Is there a way to save the To save the active exhaust mode to track all the time? With out having to reset it when you shut the car off and returns to Normal mode ? Thank you
One question sir. I’ve exhausted every search for this. I have a 22 GT PP1, and I cannot figure out how to erase my saved modes, sport etc. I originally had saved several messing around, and now I have several of the same modes saved. How can I remove the duplicates or reset all to default. And is there a way to permanently save a drive mode like sport + as every time I start the car I have to toggle it to sport plus
The only reset option the Mustang has is the factory reset through the infotainment system. Surprisingly there isn't a way to delete the saved modes, you'd just have to overwrite them. Drive modes are always reset back to normal when the car is turned off. But if you have the 201a EcoBoost or 401a GT with the fully digital cluster and seat memory you can create a custom MyMode through the cluster and then lock it to your seat memory!
@@CarsWithSteve what would the factory reset do? And yes, have the 401A. What I meant to say earlier about the saved modes, there is 2-3 of the same ones saved (by my dumb butt) like sport, sport +. So instead of 1 of each , there’s several of each. So if I reset the infotainment, I’m guessing that just resets the seat memory, colors, phone info etc. ? Btw, I appreciate all your info. Even mustang Forums didn’t have an answer to the duplicate modes.
Factory reset on the infotainment would reset the screen to factory default, so it would get rid of your phones, saved addresses, presets etc, but to be honest I haven't tried the reset to see if that also applies to changes made to the cluster. I'd probably just create a few more unique ones but it's pretty crazy Ford doesn't have an easy way to just delete them
@@CarsWithSteve I wouldn’t even care if it took time to delete the saved modes. Just being able to do it is my thing. Granted, it was all me. But if you’re figure it out (you probably will, you have great videos 😉) let me know 👍ty again for trying to help
I'm having trouble keeping the my color option.i choose blue primary blue secondary and everytime I exit the car it switches back to blue/red. Even my ambient color I change to regular blue it goes back to ice blue
Hmmm.. the one thing you could try would be to tie all your settings into a seat memory preset. Set the cluster colors and seat then press and hold either 1 or 2 to save it in!
I think the answer here is "No", but is there any way to use the My Color and the Lighting to change the steering wheel buttons to match the My Color settings? This ice blue on them drives me batty!! One (nit-picky, I know!) thing Ford missed here . . .
I wish, that would be a really great feature to add in. Some Lincolns have steering wheel buttons that light up but can't see Ford adding that into this
Weird bug in the Mustang. Set the color again and before you turn off the car just press and hold a seat memory profile button along the driver door. Turn off and back on and that should have it saved in
That's surprising... If you're tech savvy check out Forscan to enable more settings. Most performance shops should be able to help you out with that as well
@@CarsWithSteve I'm not an expert in technology, rather I don't usually like it, in fact the first thing I usually do when I drive my Mach 1 is disconnect the screen :) But thanks for the info
4:59 hi Steve I can't get my speedo back to the big numerals and without the lanes and distance from car in front symbol it stays like how you have on your video
This is awesome video for people with a new mustang! But you talk to fast, and you zoom through all the different options to fast! I’m 74 years old, I bought a new s550 mustang a year ago,all these new computer devises are greek to me! I also have a hearing deficit. I’m struggling to learn all the different items on the car. It would be beneficial if you could talk slower!
Hey Rodger, try changing the playback speed to 0.75x instead - that seems to help people who have trouble keeping up with the pacing. There's a lot to learn in this ride, so hopefully a rewatch or two will help!

you answered the question I came for , and gave me new info I never knew thanks a lot
Awesome, glad the video helped! How are you liking the Mustang so far?
nice one. just had my GT 5 hours ago and was happy to find this video.
Thanks and congrats on the new car! What's the rest of the build you have in yours?
Thanks for explaining what the advanced car settings (available in the instrument cluster menu) do. Aside from listing the actual menu item titles, the manual does little to explain what these options mean!

Outstanding job explaining everything, loved the video and very informative for us to feel great about our purchase.
Thanks Waylon, appreciate that! What build did you go for with your Mustang?

Is cruise control standard on all 2018 Mustang GT?
Regular cruise control would be standard across the Mustang lineup but Adaptive required the Premium trims along with the Safe and Smart Package
@@CarsWithSteve Ah ok. So with regular cruise control, does the car just keep the same speed?
You got it!
How come anyone showing this view of their Mustang never has any gas in the tank? This guy has only 21 miles to empty.
HAHAHA.. this one was dealer test drive demo and I got it close to end of day. It's hilarious when people pick up details like that
So i can only get the silent (timer) mode w active exhaust or just in general i wont have Exhaust Modes without active exhaust
You need to have active exhaust to get all of the different modes.. I haven't seen anyone successfully install active valve aftermarket either with the same functionality as the factory option
Do you know if I can put on the cluster screen what gear I'm in? I'm going to be teaching my daughter and I think it would be helpful- Thanks
If you've got the digital cluster you have to customize it using the Pony mode but it is possible for it to be visible

Great video, sir. Question, do you happen to know if adjusting the exhaust mode to different ones will affect the amount of fuel the car uses?
Thanks Richard! The exhaust mode shouldn't have an effect on fuel consumption but different drive modes would
Exploring the pony button, I somehow turned on images on my instrument panel that indicates I'm in normal drive and normal steering. Now I can't figure out how to remove them. Can you help?

As long as you have it programmed to your VIN and the features enabled by the seller or through Forscan it would work the same!
Hello…. My high beams won’t stay on… does the lighting have to be in the auto mode??
If your Mustang is in auto mode for the light switch, it moves high beams to the auto mode which means the high beams will come on as needed. To keep them on, get out of auto mode and then push the left stick away from you
Is the auto engine off a fuel saver? As in, at a stop sign will the engine power down?
Oh just realized I misspoke in the video. It's not a start/stop function. It's to prevent the engine from sitting idle for too long - so with the setting turned on the engine will automatically turn off after a set time
I wish it was easier to move from exhaust (pony button) back to gauges. Sometimes it’s a pain when you get inside certain menus from tire pressure to gauges
Home button would be great for sure. Don't think Ford addressed that in the new S650 build either
Excellent
Thanks!
I must say I admire your knowledge very good my friend

Use the pad on the right side of the steering wheel. The up/down buttons should let you scroll to get it back!
Is there a way for it just to show mph and not both
Check out the 4:40 mark of the video. Make sure the mph or km/h isn't selected
