    Game Description ⮟
Welcome to UNDERTALE. In this RPG, you control a human who falls underground into the world of monsters. Now you must find your way out... or stay trapped forever.
((Healthy Dog's Warning: Game contains imagery that may be harmful to players with photosensitive epilepsy or similar condition.))
    features:
Killing is unnecessary: negotiate out of danger using the unique battle system.
Time your attacks for extra damage, then dodge enemy attacks in a style reminiscent of top-down shooters.
Original art and soundtrack brimming with personality.
Soulful, character-rich story with an emphasis on humor.
    Created mostly by one person.
Become friends with all of the bosses!
    At least 5 dogs.
    You can date a skeleton.
Hmmm... now there are 6 dogs...?
Maybe you won't want to date the skeleton.
I thought I found a 7th dog, but it was actually just the 3rd dog.
If you play this game, can you count the dogs for me...? I'm not good at it.

Yes, however the Toriel battle is designed to get you to fail and not everyone will realize they should load their save and try again, which I feel comfortable “spoiling” for people because it only counteracts this fight being rigged so on balance the game is fair

Jeez they’re are a lot more people backseating than I thought… if you’re seeing this, it’s probably better not to read the comments. Just play the game however you’d like. How you play the game is up to you, not the comments.
Also, you open the menu with C. Can’t wait to see you keep playing!
Edit: As for you guys, don’t tell her ANYTHING about the game. Just let her play the game however she likes. What you guys want isn’t the “right” way to play the game. There is no right way to play Undertale. Don’t try to change her experience to how you want it. She probably saved after killing Toriel anyway, so don’t bother telling her to go back. It’ll just ruin the experience for her. Stuff like this is supposed to happen, ok? Just deal with it. She might go back after her first playthrough, so just wait until then and enjoy.

But please please PLEASE remember. We, as a fandom, have ruined this experience for someone in the past. Our meddling has caused Markiplier to quit this game for a few years because of all the backseat gaming. ABSOLUTELY NO SPOILERS, DEMANDS, OR HINTS.

sup' danielle! love ur videos so much and am loving the playthrough so far. the fandom for Undertale is one where people try to encourage certain ways of playing, but truly, you're supposed to play the game however you want, without anyone telling you what to do. the one piece of advice I can give is to experiment with trying this game multiple times, as it greatly benefits from more than one playthrough! do what you want though, as this is your channel, we are just fans of the game trying to make it so that you have the best experience playing Undertale, so enjoy! ♡

    • @funnygirl16ify
      @funnygirl16ify 2 года назад +4

Yes, but because of her time constraints, she may never get around to the main 2 routes if she's encouraged to continue with this one. She may just leave and never experience the the P-R or G-R. It's kind of a long game, and unlike a lot of other games like Omori or Life Is Strange, Undertale doesn't have multiple saves. If you want to do something even slightly differently, you have start from the _very_ beginning each time, or if you have saved 'reload'. A spead run of each route is about 3 to 4 hours. Most people are not speed runners and can take upwards of 12 to 15 hours to do. The neutral route literally is a sub-part of the P route. With primarily the only differences being the few-sentences of dialog on the phone at the very, very, end. And almost nothing else. If she does do a P route she will still experience everything she would have gotten from the neutral, except with the rest of the ending. That's important, because if you cut out the N-R it can literally save her 12-15 hours of her life, which would be mostly walking around and dealing with random encounters anyway. We're not back seat driving for the route that we _want,_ we're being realistic.
I'm fine with her doing it however she likes, it's natural and I enjoy seeing it, I really do, but I doubt she is going to want to spend 15 hours on it and the experience the exact same thing again with only a few differences. Likely, from what we saw with the Omori playthrough, videos made for the true pacifist route would be fragmented and only show differences that she notices. That is not fun to watch.

    • @The-jj9df
      @The-jj9df 2 года назад +6

@@funnygirl16ify But what's the point of showing the same content she already reacted to? The games you mentioned may have multiple save slots but from what I recall they are also much longer than Undertale (at least Omori is), so chances are she'll do at least the P-R for Undertale, too. (though she doesn't have to, there are a lot of let's play's online if you're interested)
I don't get how it's not fun to watch, it's true that she wouldn't be experiencing everything at once for the first time but it doesn't change the reactions to all the new aspects. And the experience is more authentic this way.
I don't mean to argue, I simply disagree with it not being enjoyable. Plus, unsolicited backseating gets annoying really fast, and it's not being realistic as much as just trying to shift the experience to someone else's preferences.

IMO, the actions and thoughts of other players should be put aside so you can enjoy playing however you wish. If you need help with something (settings, a hard part you don't know how to get thru, etc.), then sure, help is fine, but I think it's generally better to try and get thru the game on your own (unless you're replaying it, in which case, discussions and hints can be quite nice).

you know, you're the first person I've seen, first person to me that I've seen actually question Toriel's motives. Since other people seem to trust her immediately cause of her say Motherly aura? And I find that surprising? Annoying I guess. Not to mean any hate tho!! It's just since I know this character already it's kinda sad, but it's understandable. Other than that I hope you keep enjoying the game!

Let me just say that I'm proud to see all these comments respecting your experience of the game. I will say a lot of that talk about the undertale fandom is kind of a big myth. Yeah people can get backseatey with this game, but literally it's the same for any game involving narrative choice. Not exactly exclusive to undertale. People just like to use the fandom as a scapegoat so they can trash on people they don't really understand. Most are pretty chill, and those who spoil are likely children who get way too immersed in the game. I'm glad people are being mindful though.

It started to grate on my nerves. Injecting your opinion and experiences on the game play is fine and interesting but you're overdoing it also, I was looking forward to some informative insight on to the game and how it deals with themes and decisions but you circle through the same things over and over pausing constantly, don't go far enough in the text to see where that changes or subverts the expectation and just end up wasting alot of time, pace it, play for a while, read through the whole of an interaction and THEN start giving insight.

    [Spoiler-free]
Don't feel too bad about what you did, the game tries to nudge you in that direction the first time, and most people do exactly the same thing.
Toriel is, fittingly, meant to be the end of the game's Tutorial, and the way to spare her is, intentionally, one of the hardest in the game to figure out.
Do want to point out, though: yes, her handling of the protagonist is morally questionable, and her refusal to let them leave is definitely as much selfishness as it is protecting the protagonist. Toriel is very much a morally grey character, -although I can't really get into the full reasoning behind that because that would be major spoilers for a different route.- She's ultimately a good person, but between years of loneliness(alluded to in her diary), and I must stress that she is way older than she looks, and having watched and briefly cared for every human to ever fall, -not to mention some other spoiler backstory stuff,- I'd say it's understandable that she's a bit overprotective and clingy.
-Either way, RIP to Goat mom.-

I'm happy my mom didn't let me play in the street or go running of in my neighborhood I stayed in. You may claim she never gave me the option sense she always would hold my hand tight when going out or tell me to stay close. Always stay in her line of sight or else but I'm sure me learning the *hard way* would have been the end for me then and there.
In my opinion I feel Toriel as a protective guardian to, from me guessing, 4 to 6 year olds is being too much of a push over especially if she knows their fate if they leave. The only reason I can see why she isn't being more protective then what she already is, is do to the kids not being her own. F
