Personally, I found Jordan's control of the situation on the couch really impressive, despite the shots he took. Also appreciate the attention to safety with the pool cues!
I felt like he was still having trouble finding the right spot for the challenge, between wanting to showcase BJJ effectiveness and not escalating too much (restraining instead of hurting) .. A bit like Natan in episode 1. I hope to see him doing better in next episodes, he's by far my favourite BJJ content maker.
"But arent you invincible?" Honestly Ive been in the situation of being the stormtrooper scenario acting guy multiple times and tbh it can really suck. Big shoutout to your guys. P.s, even my jaw felt that hit Jeff gave Matt lmao
Another great episode! Great work on the challenges! I was quite happy to see Matt in the show, I miss his channel "Reality Check Self Defense", it was quite entertaining. I felt for him when Jeff punched him just like that, ouch XD. You should ask Rokas to publicize this Attacker Chronicles in his channel, It really adds to the experience!
Jeff Chan choosing to go on the offensive, not only enhances the entertainment value from a viewer's perspective, but also demonstrates what can happen when you overreact to a threat and how that can have its own hazards, legal and otherwise.
Nice guys, I already filmed my breakdowns yesterday. Nice comments by Matt I believe it is at the end. 1st Breakdown in less than a day 2nd Breakdown Friday. Muay Thai Plum pointers and counters in between and I just told a funny story how I had to choke out my teammate in Japan and counter to the most common attacks you may want to check out
Im loving the series guys! I must confess I have not seen season 1. But I hope you all keep making these. It's so good for making people aware of real life situations. Ive been doing Krav Maga for about a year and I've been contemplating doing the summer camps and seeing you guys do these challenges has made me wanna do it more!

Regarding Craig being the "Regular Guy" I've hold myself quite a few times at replying to comments about "The untrained guy doing better than the martial artists". Quite some confusion going around about his experience. But I don't want to be the one ending all the hype. Ranton said on one of his videos that Craig even had "bareknuckle fights in prison", is that true or was he exagerating? Anyway he is indeed a great addition to the show and quickly becoming everyones favourite!
I'm really enjoying the new season, and glad you've got this behind-the-scenes for season 2. You guys need a proper budget and production staff for season 3, no more running around on fathers day! One thing I felt that came out in every contestant's events was their lack of experience in roleplaying situation. How much "training" did you give the contestants in terms of roleplay? Jeff had experience from last time, so knew the drill (and so wisely chose premptive violence every time). But others, like Ranton, clearly weren't engaged in the "role" and was more concerned with silly things like meeting Matt, which I think really undermined his performance. I'm not sure if that continues for the later episodes or if he wises up. Maybe Ranton would just laugh during a real fight and so it's realistic? I probably would. I know it's different per person, and in season 1 people like Icy Mike were clearly more experienced in roleplay (including icing a child with zero hesitation). Would you consider doing an off-camera session on the "rules of engagement" for all the contestants in season 3 and try to get them into the spirit of it, so they can hit the ground running? Another example of this is Craig physically leaving vs Jesse simply saying "I'd have left by now" multiple times. Craig seemed to get points for that but Jesse didn't, but I think that's because Jesse didn't understand the "rules" of the game, so to speak, as he clearly _wanted_ to leave but also thought it would make for bad TV, and so didn't. Some other comments : 1. Jeff socking Matt with zero hesitation (and possibly even cause at that point!) was hilarious, especially compared to the other guys. Jeffs seems like he'd be a nightmare to go out to a pub with. 2. You need to colour code the friendly goons from the enemy ones, I know a real fight would be chaotic, but lots of people couldn't even tell who their bar friend was, whereas in reality everyone is wearing different clothes and not wearing helmets and so the human power of spotting a face would definitely help :) They had a white helmet, but so did some of the baddies it seems. 3. Ranton, having never punched anyone, is more of a realistic "everyman" than Craig, though Craig does show you what a vague bit of training in self defence gets you. 4. The bouncers in this place suck. 5. I think the post-fight police interview was pretty inspired (as was Jeff Chan's responses), and a great example of how self defence is also in the pre- and post-fight. The tips from Aaron are great too. Shame we don't have such a thing in the real show, maybe some kind of "lessons" that you and Rokus want to teach us?
My only gripe with the series at all so far is that i personally wouldve ranked jordan below jeff and ranton then jeff than ranton. Imo jordan died or was seriously injured right then and there that day, jeff was perfectly fine but goes to jail in 6 months after his trial and ranton spends a night in hospital but doesnt go to jail.
Maybe show us some of the judging panel and the thought process? Might give people a little more perspective because I 100% agree that Craig did the best here, but if others don't agree I feel like they don't necessarily understand what they're watching
@@JeffPhillipsSelfDefence yeah, no I just meant as an option to include in future seasons. I enjoy watching discussion around what went well/poorly and I think people would find it helpful
I think a better term than "regular man" for Craig would be "achievable level", BC he's trained, but it's not his life
Yah but it doesn't really "sell" as "regular person" but yeah, he's your "average guy who at least knows how to throw hands"
Thanks for doing this!

Craig the legend
Craig has more experience and training than Ranton. Although I wouldn't say Ranton is the everyday man, he's closer to that imo.
