That sucks mate, but good on you for being aware and shutting her down. Do the replacement yourself and keep a spare on board you’ll be back on the road in no time 😉
Hard to get at all the plugs. Would literally have to pull the engine. There are 3 or so at the rear of the block right up against the firewall. Fingers crossed this one plug was an anomaly and the rest stay firmly in place!
I've always seen freeze plugs with their concave side facing out.
I enjoy these old Mopar videos so much. You seem to have some of my luck
Sorry Keith, at least you got stopped before there was any damage. I'd have some words for the machine shop!
I have had 2 things go wrong with my rebuild, due to the machine shop. The 1 valve guide was too high and now this expansion plug. Rrgg.

I'll replace all of them and like you say I'll keep an spare one in the car
Stand by for part 2! The issue will be addressed.
That's a bummer! Love the videos.
Not cool. Glad you got it shut down before any real damage occurred. Would suggest redoing all the freeze plugs just in case.

@@keithsgarage5831 Yeah let us hope so. Just another Willys owner I follow on IG had the same thing happen to his plugs after a rebuild.
That's concerning. Hopefully it's just that one plug.
I sure hope so! I had every plug replaced.
Looks like the machine shop put in a used frost plug with red paint on the back to save a few cents ,nasty.
Sorry to see that Keith but it looks like you turned it off in time so hopefully there’s no damage to the engine. Thanks for posting.
That stinks. Newly rebuilt engine and freeze plug comes out.
I’m guessing the machine shop didn’t press the centre of the plug, in far enough.
Well at least you don't have to pull the engine..bummer
Sorry to see that Keith
could be worst! .. love the car man!!
