I know a thousand people probably have all ready said this but I’ve been watching you for quite awhile now. Kayla you are just totally different, you can literally see the love you have for him all over your face. You smile nonstop, it’s in your eyes. Your body language is so relaxed with him. Kayla I have a big jade plant I’d love to give you. I keep trimming it back because it gets top heavy. If you know how I can ship it to you from southwest Ohio tell me and I’ll do it. It loves it outside on my porch in the summer in indirect sun. When it’s happy it turns maroon on the edges. Glad you’re having a good time on vacation! ❤

Fun fact. I have a jade plant I started in a kiss cube. 31 years later, it bloomed!! I’ve been in love with indoor plants since the 70’s and treat them as family members - but I never knew that jades bloom! Beautiful long lasting pinkish flowers! What I’ve recently learned is that jades only bloom after they reach a certain height - approximately 17 inches. Mine is a bit larger than the one at this sale - but keep yours going and it will eventually bloom for you!
PS, they are very easy to start and I’ve given so many starter jades off my girl. Have also kept several for myself- a few being 12-15 years of age. If cared for they will live for dozens upon dozens of years!!
Estate sales are always bittersweet for me. It makes me feel almost guilty to paw through personal things I know we're once beloved and chosen by someone who (usually) has passed away...I know it's a necessary and inevitable process, but it still makes me wistful. This person looks to have lived a very vibrant and lovely life 🙄

When my family went to TN last year a momma bear and her 3 cubs came right up to our cabin. I was literally 6 ft away. Best memory
Tennessee will be our new home in 6 weeks. People are kind overall there. we just closed on our little nest on 1 acre. Perfect for two.✌️ Happy for your blended family and New house hunt.

Matt, if you ever come to Morro Bay ca. let me know . I have Jade plants 🪴 all around my house . I have several large potted ones and would be happy to give you one for Kayla. They are so prolific here and grow really fast. I am constantly having to cut them back. We used to live in Fresno before we moved here which, as you will know, is very hot, so I had never really come across very many before. But here at the Coast, they are everywhere and grow really fast. I don’t know how you would get it to Kentucky,but like I said, if you want one, I would happily give you one.
Those slumped white and pyramid shaped colored things in the studio are called pyrometric cones. They’re placed inside a kiln when firing to monitor the temp and heat work in the kiln. They change color during the firing to be all white. They’re used once and then either thrown away or kept as a record of how the kiln is functioning.
The Stony white sticky note might be a type of clay or glaze.

The cones go in the kiln when you fire it. How far it bends over during firing indicates how hot the kiln fired.

When I was in Gatlinburg years ago, we saw several bears, some right off the highway. Love the area, it’s beautiful. I hope ya’ll get to see one.

That estate sale was so cool you guys! The jade tree was stunning!!😍I saw 3 jade trees at our local nursery and they are 1/2 the size of that one and half the price. I plan on going back and getting one this week! Hope they are still there lol!! Our nursery has goooorgeous plants, very large, and super affordable.

Another fun time. Tennessee is a beautiful state. I’ve never been to Gatlinburg and we’re maybe 2-3 hrs from there. I love the glass icicles, my kind of Christmas decor. I know you guys made memories with the children and had a blast. 😊❤
This estate sale was one of my favorites! The artwork and pottery were definitely my vibe. And I loved all the rooms in the house - it didn’t look that big on the outside. If you search Pigeon Forge pottery you’ll see the different animals they make. I’ve had a chipmunk before, so cute!

Kayla, I love Jade plants too. A little tip. Go to a large nursery and look in the back for older plants. You may just find the larger ones.

Spent 6 years in the Smokies in Johnson City, Tn. Lots of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg visits BUT there is a small town called Erwin, TN - up in the mountains between Asheville and Johnson City - also known as Sam’s Gap. There is an area atop a mountain called “The Beauty Spot.” It is a bald spot full of rhododendron! And adjacent to a bear preserve! Way up in the clouds - and let me tell you, if you don’t see a bear, you will surely smell them! Mistakenly took a walk down the side of the mountain through what I thought was a cool maze through the underbrush…. Oooh.. came right up on one large pile of steaming bear poo. Holy Moly! Had my 2 step girls with me 8 and 11 and I turned them so fast and ran like hell back up the mountain!
It was only after getting safely in car, did I see a wooden sign that said, “Bear Preserve - Beware.” There by the grace……. 🙏

I think The Shoals is a swampy area located near the beaches in Delaware. The frog had The Shoals on it and frogs love the swamps. Also, I would’ve gone nuts in that house. Soooooo many good things!!!!!!!😊

Kayla, I will send you a few Jade starters..they grow super fast. I brought a tiny piece from one in my yard in Cali when I moved to the east coast. My plant is as big as that one in the video now & have made several others. Mine flowers every fall also! The colored cones are to be put in the kiln. Depending upon the temperature of the kiln, you would put the cone in the pin. When the firing is complete, the cone breaks, and the kiln automatically shuts off. (Retired art teacher) 😁

I love the iceciclea😊. I hope y’all saw at least 1 bear. The last time I was in Gatlinburg we had one in our front porch. The next day we saw three babies up a tree just along the road. Y’all are two cuties together.
Those are firing cones (the pastel sticks you were looking at in the basement). When you fire pottery and porcelain you put cones for different temperatures in the kiln to make sure your pottery was fired to the correct temperature. Those trays you saw had cones that had slumped in the firing which is what they were made to do.
Hey Matt! come to South Salem NY. Our bears just roam around wherever they want to! We also got bobcats, foxes, wolves…😊

How cool to be able to do a nice estate sale while on Spring Break with the kids. Great video. Oh, and hey, those cute little wood “pen holders” most likely are bud vases. I live where there is a rare wood that only grows here in Oregon and in the holy lands called Myrtlewood, and for years there were a factory in my little town that made all kinds of trinkets for tourists, including the little bud vases that look just like the ones you found. Mine all have a little glass tube inserted to protect the wood. Also, I sometimes find similar ones that also have a wood top/stopper and those are perfume bottles. Some great items (really loved those glass icicles, I’m all about Christmas!)

We have seen so many bear up in northern BC/Yukon, Canada. Both black & grizzlies. Some come into town but normally don't bother since there's so much wilderness for them to forage in!😊
