Zenevi Romawii You kidding, right ? Their sound mixing IS perfect, if it was realistic, we would hear nothing but the singing, especially during the concert
Yeah!!! Had the same feeling! I just understood what Raphina meant. In the end of the movie I wanted to cry, but it was a happy cry, like, this movie is so beautiful! Amazing!!!
That few seconds hits me every time. Reminds me of exactly something my mom would do during band practice when I was in high school. Showed her this song over the weekend (and will watch the full movie with her as soon as I can ❤)
With her vibrator instead of a Shure SM58 microphone in hand, lol Love it when they’re just starting. Kicks the bedroom door shut and changes the batteries 🤣🤣🤣
Major props for how incredible Lucy Boynton (Raphina) is at the end of this clip. There's so much emotion that flashes across her face in those few seconds, and it makes me tear up. This movie makes you understand the magic of hearing a song written especially for you - and she doesn't even have to say a word.
the moment she takes off the makeup is so great to me. Because she fits the trope of manic pixie dream girl at a first glance. This woman older than her age that shows the shy, inexperienced protagonist that there's more to life than he's ever thought of, and inspires him to go beyond the walls of his own life. But just below that trope, she's a broken person, just like a lot of the characters in this, and she and the main character put together make a whole that neither could achieve on their own. Now all of that said, this moment of her wiping off her makeup and listening to this song about her is so beautiful because it's her hearing (maybe for the first time) that SHE is more than the walls that she's built up around her. Oh my god I love this movie, I shall continue looking way too deep into it
This scene is pure perfection. This whole movie is perfect. The visual storytelling in this scene is masterful, and the way we see Raphina without her makeup, like we're really seeing her for the first time. It's gold, Jerry!
This song and this whole movie just makes my day or year even. It's one of those films that you can't stop thinking about for another two weeks after watching it. I just love it so much, it's such a good film and the music is great I wish they'd make an album
I have to study this for english but damn is it a bliss to study THIS movie. It's literally so good I loved all the characters too. The realistic depiction of dublin in the 80s is something I loved too
It's two o'clock on the edge of the morning She's running magical circles around my head I head to ride on a dream she's driving She turns to kiss me, I crash back into bed. Across the street on a grayed-out Monday I see the girl with the eyes I can't describe And suddenly it's a perfect Sunday And everything is more real than life. I think I'm back in the dream I think I'm back on the ceiling It's such a beautiful feeling. Going up She lights me up She breaks me up She lets me up. You find a mixture of bounding perfection You've gotta read but you don't wanna reach the end 'Cause what if everything beautiful's fiction? And this reality's just pretend? And then I'm back in the dream I'm looking up at the ceiling It's such a beautiful feeling. Going up She lights me up She breaks me up She lets me up.

I only saw this film for the first time this week and now I can't get this song out of my head. The perfect feel good song for the perfect feel good movie.
I love the timeline they choose for this movie since im a fan of classic rock bands especially Queen, it just shows how the greatest rockbands back then form their own band. You can also imagine their hardwork before getting into the spotlight, before it was really pure talents
I love how his inspiration for this is purely Raphina. He didn't draw inspiration from Duran Duran's song "The Riddle of the Model" or from The Cure's "A Beautiful Sea." Nor did he compose a song using lines from people, such as his brother's comment "Drive it Like you stole it" during a dance to Hall and Oates or his teacher's words "All the complicated boys and girls." Connor was deeply enamored with Raphina, and with Eamon's help, they crafted a unique sound of their own. "Up" and "To Find You" stand as their only unadulterated creations.
"Up" It's two o'clock on the edge of the morning She's running magical circles around my head I hitch a ride on a dream she's driving She turns to kiss me, I crash back into bed Across the street on a grayed out Monday I see the girl with the eyes I can't describe And suddenly it's a perfect Sunday And everything is more real than life I think I'm back in the dream I think I'm back on the ceiling It's such a beautiful feeling Going up She lights me up She breaks me up She lifts me up You find a mystery bound in perfection You've got to read, but you don't wanna reach the end Cause what if everything beautiful's fiction And this reality's just pretend? And then I'm back in the dream I'm looking up at the ceiling It's such a beautiful feeling Going up She lights me up She breaks me up She lifts me up Up to the stars she shows me Dame Street, George's Street, miles below me Up where the world won't let us down (Na, na, na, na) Going up (It's two o'clock on the edge of the morning) She lights me up (She's running magical circles around my head) She breaks me up (I hitch a ride on a dream she's driving) She lifts me up
The lad who plays Larry the drummer is a mate of mine, we do bar work together. Never mentions that he's even in this though he's still into his music and is great at it, always love going to gigs he's doing
This movie makes me feel so good. Love that it’s set in the 80s. They really captured that era well. And the backstory with the older brother makes me feel so many emotions.
Hadn`t my teacher said this song was made last year, I would have thought this song was made in the 80`s. It`s sad that this kind of music isn`t popular anymore.

Brazil
Every single actor is flawless in this movie.
yap, i love the one who look like young Wayne Rooney,
the bassist he is so cute..
Arnesh Sengupta their actin is horrible, love the movie, but the guitarist just makes me cringe sometimes 😂
Mark Thompson honestly you dont know what talent is then
ngig fans here
I love how the audio quality of the songs aren't perfect to give a more realistic feeling and make them less studio-ish
Zenevi Romawii You kidding, right ? Their sound mixing IS perfect, if it was realistic, we would hear nothing but the singing, especially during the concert
Commenter means that it probably sounds more raw, or real somewhat so it gives off a rugged edge to it, even though it IS mixed.
I know that it is mixed but it isn't 'polished'.
+ConvoluteTravesty understood what I said. It sounds more raw and rugged.
Zenevi Romawii ok, I get what you mean. You're saying it doesn't sound like studio music.
nah we'd hear nothing but the drums :P
This movie made me happy, I can't explain it. When it ended, I was incredibly happy sad.
Yeah!!! Had the same feeling! I just understood what Raphina meant. In the end of the movie I wanted to cry, but it was a happy cry, like, this movie is so beautiful! Amazing!!!
Happy sad
I sobbed like a happy toddler!
happy sad :-) One of the best movies I've ever seen, gave me so many beautiful emotions!
Is anyone else really mad that this movie didn't get even ONE oscar nomination?
Amrita Ashok it was nominated for best song
John Smith No
It was nominated in golden globe I guess.
Oscars don't pay attention to such films. Mostly Dramas.
@@shashsrivas La La Land was nominated
Eamon's mom is the real hero ... she let's them practice / song-write in their living room the whole time ... love her cameo in this video
That few seconds hits me every time. Reminds me of exactly something my mom would do during band practice when I was in high school. Showed her this song over the weekend (and will watch the full movie with her as soon as I can ❤)
And she had to endure them being terrible at first too. 😂😂
As vezes é isso que faz a diferença, alguém acredita
With her vibrator instead of a Shure SM58 microphone in hand, lol
Love it when they’re just starting. Kicks the bedroom door shut and changes the batteries 🤣🤣🤣
true

Amazing! Your analysis describes perfectly what I felt when I first saw this scene!
the moment she takes off the makeup is so great to me. Because she fits the trope of manic pixie dream girl at a first glance. Can’t believe how this movie became an instant classic for me …the songs too just hits the spot
When I thought musical movies sucks, comes this movie, there's beauty in its natural way of filming, and with music, just magic.
You might also like whiplash and lalaland then :)
watch rudderless, great movie as well. but prepare some tissue my friend
This song needs to win an Oscar.
This scene is pure perfection. This whole movie is perfect. The visual storytelling in this scene is masterful, and the way we see Raphina without her makeup, like we're really seeing her for the first time. It's gold, Jerry!
One of my top 10 for sure!
Great film, great actors and fantastic script.

I love how she gets happy sad while she was listening to the song.
So proud to be Irish, unbelievable movie and script.
This song and this whole movie just makes my day or year even. It's one of those films that you can't stop thinking about for another two weeks after watching it. I just love it so much, it's such a good film and the music is great I wish they'd make an album

Feel-good movie of the year
Connor + Eamon = Bono + The Edge
Absolutely ! I Always thought that Sing Street was a "teenage" version of Killing Bono.
I freakin love this movie
One of The best movies

What a brilliant movie. Loved every second of it
I love the timeline they choose for this movie since im a fan of classic rock bands especially Queen, it just shows how the greatest rockbands back then form their own band. You can also imagine their hardwork before getting into the spotlight, before it was really pure talents
