I was born & raised in UAE, so I've been watching anime since the age of 3 but with Arabic dubbing (which helped me learn Arabic), I didn't know they came from mangas until later in life & I found out about it from the internet because no one around me read mangas or watched anime that much or at least as much as I did. I was obsessed with it. Until one day, life happened I guess & I had to leave everything I ever loved. I missed out on a lot.... but a couple of years ago I went back to all the things I used to love & now I'm obsessed all over again.
I love the excitement you have when talking about it & how much it means to you because I totally get it, it's like I still have a connection to my childhood. I understand the amount of joy & happiness that it brings you because it really does make you feel good in ways I can't really explain.

Salam Alaikum :) I’m also a 90’s baby 🫶🏾 Ahh so glad you found the manga cafes ! Dragon Ball Z and Inuyasha were my firsts in English. In high school I got into Bleach in Japanese and then found shoujo animes. I’ve been addicted since 😅 I had to read AOT to know what happened to Levi. I’m reading Sakamoto Days and watching Tokyo Revengers rn. JJK is really popular and dark like AOT. I recommend them all !

This is such a wholesome video! Made me want to be a kid again 🥹 I never knew these places existed in Montreal!
Also the first place you went to, the books are to be read on the spot or you can rent/buy as well?
