Couple of questions you guys asked: 1) Where's Lowkey from? He was born to an Iraqi mother and an English father. 2) "You won't feel your chains until the day you begin to move" is a paraphrased quote by Rosa Luxembourg 3) This song was after Grenfell 4) Lowkey was initially part of underground legendary group called "Poisonous Poets" which consisted of Doc Brown (then rap legend, famous comedian now), Tony D (undisputed battle rap champion in the UK), Reveal, Stylah, Therapist. They later went their own ways. Lowkey then was part of group called "People's Army". Not the usual rap group. People's Army was more like a collective of Hip Hop artists who spoke for the people. I think "if they don't let us dream then we won't let them sleep" is the theme that brings his two freestyles together. He is applying his social commentary and political analysis to the Grenfell fire. People's dreams were broken so they could be burned alive by corporate greed and government neglect. They were not allowed to dream literally. Figuratively, the hapless and hopeless existence of the majority of people leaves no room for dreams about self-worth and fulfillment. People who allowed this to happen in service of their own privilege slept comfortably in their beds that night. Their comfort and opulence should not be allowed to continue. Again figuratively, the blood on their hands should be shown to them. Once they realise their guilt they should suffer sleepless nights. "I couldn't sleep if I did that" is a common saying used when shocked by the evil of another.
I've been literally crying on all their videos to react to ANY song by Rhyme Asylum!!! I don't think they're ready for RA man, their minds will explode 🤯
@@BeersBars I highly advise you do a couple of Rhyme Asylum songs before you go onto their Fire in the Booth. You can start with "Next Level", "Ground Zero", "Poison Penmanship". You know lowkey did a Diss track to ghetts??? Called " top 1 selected" Pure🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 He humbled ghetts n after that bought ghetts out to hid show n actually changed ghetts mindset at the time he says so himself Lowkey - I'm back
It wasn't really a diss track. Ghetts was pissed off that he wasn't mentioned in the Top 10 best emcees list but Lowkey was tied with Chipmunk at the 10th position. Ghetts assumed since Charlie loved Lowkey, he vetoed Lowkey's name in the list. Lowkey literally says at the end that he agrees with Ghetts, "He is one of the best emcees this country has ever seen.... But so am I..."
A bit more on the context: Lowkey's song "Top 1 Selected" was a response to Ghetts song "Who's On the Panel" that Ghetts released after MTVs top 10 rappers list was released. It was a ridiculous list with only a couple of credible names (at that time) and was disrespectful to both Ghetts and Lowkey. Lowkey's song was called "Top 1 Selected" because right after MTV's list was released and Ghetts did his song, an independent UK organisation did a poll on who the people thought the best emcee was in the UK. Lowkey was voted no. 1 by the people with a considerable difference between the 1st and 2nd position. In the song "Top 1 Selected", he says "K-Lashed my name off". KLash was an alias of another UK Hip Hop legend Klashnekoff who won the 10th place on the independent poll. Since Lowkey was put at 10th place in the MTV list, he was referring to that.
@@RealityyBytes mate it's a direct Diss to ghetts which humbled him if you remember the live footage of ghetts n devlin talking reckless?????? He gor humbled n since that day ghetts became more humbled n changed his whole aura Call a spade a spade wen u see it Laow the Bullshit mate!!!

Another one thats gunna fuck you up is......Rhyme Asylum- fire in booth🔥🔥🔥
Same pedigree of penmanship n skills....
It's a must guys💯
I've been literally crying on all their videos to react to ANY song by Rhyme Asylum!!! I don't think they're ready for RA man, their minds will explode 🤯
On the list!!! Couple more checks in the box
@@BeersBars I highly advise you do a couple of Rhyme Asylum songs before you go onto their Fire in the Booth. You can start with "Next Level", "Ground Zero", "Poison Penmanship". Its important to do the songs before so that you understand their style and dynamic of the group. This way you can truly appreciate their Fire in the Booth.
Guna be here to watch yous loose ya whole shit to that one🤣
@@red888 they're not ready bro 😂😂 trust me
You know lowkey did a Diss track to ghetts???
Called " top 1 selected"
Pure🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He humbled ghetts n after that bought ghetts out to hid show n actually changed ghetts mindset at the time he says so himself
Lowkey - I'm back
👀
@@BeersBars yeah I know lol
Check it out
Lowkey-top 1selected
Ghetts Diss
💪💯🔥💯
It wasn't really a diss track. Ghetts was pissed off that he wasn't mentioned in the Top 10 best emcees list but Lowkey was tied with Chipmunk at the 10th position. Ghetts assumed since Charlie loved Lowkey, he vetoed Lowkey's name in the list. Lowkey literally says at the end that he agrees with Ghetts, "He is one of the best emcees this country has ever seen.... But so am I..."
A bit more on the context:
Lowkey's song "Top 1 Selected" was a response to Ghetts song "Who's On the Panel" that Ghetts released after MTVs top 10 rappers list was released.
He gor humbled n since that day ghetts became more humbled n changed his whole aura
Call a spade a spade wen u see it
Laow the Bullshit mate!!!
Mic Righteous ft. Akala - The Journey 🔥
This is a thank you and a polite nudge to do a couple of UK real HIP HOP reactions to show its not only Grime rap over here. My suggestions are below. Many thanks again bottoms up boys
Really appreciate the super thanks we will put your requests at the top of the list for our next recording session. One note next week we have prerecorded all of our videos as Casey is traveling for business. We will not have a recording session until the following week. Again big thank you ✌️🍻
Yes Michael ❤️
@@twinklingfullstop9629 Yo Twink, you know me... 😂
@@michaelrichardson2418 you've opened my eyes once again. I didn't know you could throw money at them like this.... Missed hanging out and you schooling me on all things hip-hop
@@twinklingfullstop9629 oh what have I done, are the boys ready? I know whatever you ask for will be 🔥
Appreciate this one guys! 🍻
This FITB was within 6 months of Grenfell fire. Section on Grenfell must have been written very close to the performance because News of Grenfell was coming out week by week in the months that followed the fire. He probably only finalised Grenfell bits last minute, hence notes on phone. For example, the line about still collecting their wage was a comment on the immediate situation.
“I don’t know if time is linear or cyclical…”
Is that a reference to Akala’s FITB “Time is a cycle; not a line”?
Yo guys I never subscribe to anything tbh but I've just subscribed to your channel. I've been cracking up watching your videos with the UK scene and the energy you guys bring is different. Still hoping for more lowkey reactions like the f64 freestyle, obamanation, terrorist, return of lowkey...many more guarantee you'll enjoy them. Much appreciation from Colombia 👍💯
Got some Lowkey returning soon 😉 welcome to the Buzz Fam ✌️🍻
Lowkey SBTV 200 bars of power has to come at some point 🔥🔥
You should do Terroist by lowkey. He actually got charged with terriosm because of his music
❤ your reactions to UK rappers - you are getting the word out-The people’s army crew 🔥✊🏽✊🏼🤌🏽
Nice Saturday treat! Love to see love for Lowkey. So much more than music, he uses his voice and platform for purpose. His break from music was quality, he hit the books and I’m sure got qualified in Middle Eastern studies which shows.
Brilliant person!
I’ll be back to watch later. 🫡 🍻
Loved this react. Lowkey is an OG. Have to check out The Return of Lowkey.
Lowkey mic logic react to the people’s army cyhpher old school ✌🏻
Gotta make a request for logic fitb pt 1 and 2. Proper overlooked
The peoples army. It was logic, lowkey, mic righteous, akala, black the ripper English Frank and a tonne others it was a rap group/ movement trying to push a positive message through hip hop
Lowkey is dope. I remember when he first came into the game and from day dot he was super ill
Akala and Lowkey stay producing absolute masterpieces. Only other MCs with this kind of commitment to uplifting the people i can think of is Black Thought, Nas. Anyone that see this comment that got any recommendations can you please add yours
Lowkey has a iraqi mother and a English farther but grew up in London
Another comment mentioned similar to one I said before, you need to drop the peoples army cypher, also yep he done alphabet assassin backwards. And if you want something lil diffy check out lord of the beats Logan Sama vs big mikee
Guys! Loving these vids new fans here! lowkey tracks I'd love to see you react to that I'm not sure you have..
Lowkey - sbtv 200 bars of power
Lowkey sbtv freestyles ( 2 of them 🔥)
Lowkey - wake up (about child slavery)
Welcome to the Buzz Fam ✌️🍻
“If don’t let us dream then we won’t let them sleep” is a common protest chant
lowkey got into legal problems because he spoke out on the Palestinian issues, which went against the UK gov official position and the anti-Semitic blanket slur-wash to any criticism of the state of Israel
Lowkey received a lot of offers from labels but he refused them all and went back to education.
English Frank
100 bars of truth
Check out English Frank - Fire in the booth
- 100 bars of truth 1,2&3
Looking forward to one of the Fire in the booth OGs K Koke, I know it must be coming
It's high on the list ✌️🍻
People's Army! General Salute.🫡
time for more Mic Righteous? 🙂
The Nas knowledge is 💯 always clock this Nas beats
WOW, AMAZING!! I have seen many reactor channels reacting to Lowkey FITB2, but none were as half as good as this. Thank you both. To answer your question about Lowkey's background he is mixed race his mom is white English and his dad is middle-eastern Iraqi. I'd suggest watching Lowkey's speech at Oxford University in your own time and would love to hear your thoughts. Quite honestly speaking Lowkey does an excellent job. Link to the video ruclips.net/video/KMPAv8Tw2ag/видео.html. Lowkey takes on Oxford Union with a well-researched argument for why the Arab world has NOT failed the Palestinian people...
Thank you we really appreciate it ✌️🍻
It's the other way around my brother, his mom is Iraqi and his dad English. His name is Kareem Dennis
@@jmljamal7717 oh! my bad my g lol now I know appreciated!
@@shaf811 No problem bro, honest mistake!
So many uk references, I’m sorry to say you’re missing just how fucking amazing this guy is … literally in a class of his own…
you need to react to
BAM BAM VOICE OF THE STREETS
or any other freestyle he’s done
This man has deeper meaning for everything he say. He should be a poet laureate
Ocean Wisdom - Fire in the booth PLEASE
You should listen to him underrated gem "Sunday morning" 🔥
Ha, I knew you'd like this!
Since you're doing a lot of UK rappers, I'd love it if you could react to Rhyme Asylum - Poison Penmanship.
Not political rappers, but incredible wordplay and punchlines
