People who are operating other people’s property while they pay insurance and pay the operator should know how, when, where it is being operated. Pay for your own vehicle, insurance and get a 1099 and you probably will not have to use it. Besides, location based services is really bottom feeding at this point More about safety, fuel, and maintenance
To bad in most states blocking the obd2 is an automatic fail at smog ... should be using a t harness so the smog tech and the employee won’t tamper with . Not to mention ifnit has to be serviced by the dealer or mechanic.
My company runs 62 Geotab devices throughout Central California, mostly service vehicles. We order T-Harnesses with each new one that gets added, and all 62 have T Harnesses. They used to have quite a few harness types, but now they just carry one 16 pin harness with about 10 different "mounts" that work with a variety of vehicles. The regular harness allows you to leave the ODB open or mount it someplace else, while the geotab is plugged into the power fed to the ODB and can be tucked under the steering wheel and zip tied to cables so that drivers knees don't accidentally hit it and simulate a crash, which is an auto trigger email if the device jolts because it has a gyroscope and accelerometer. It can measure hard stops, starts, sloppy cornering, and most importantly, speeding, seatbelt, and collision detection.

Well done, Geotab. The new GO9 looks great! :)

I have this thing in a 2016 Tacoma that was owned by Orkin. I guess it's easy to remove by reversing your instructions.
The orange wire in the harness connected to the 14pin is the data. Im sure it can “rattle loose” 😂
In my company car the device is hanging down on the floor secured by zip ties. Does this affect the function of the device ?
