I really appreciate that a self defense attorney is making videos such as these. So many people get a concealed weapon permit, (or just carrying a concealed weapon if you're fortunate enough to live in a constitutional carry state), and have no idea of the legal cesspool involved if they ever have to use it. The fact that these very informative and spot on videos are given out freely is an amazing public service. Thank you very much. Hopefully you'll be in NV soon.

I agree with the comments you made about the 5th amendment here. It's a clear violation if we are being compelled to speak.
This brings me to a concern of my own.
I am 100% against corporal punishment. I'm a big believer in the initial aggressor rule, and small kids are not a threat. I believe the equal protections clause of the 14th amendment means corporal punishment is unconstitutional since it compels minors to tolerate attacks despite self-defense laws. That is not an equally applied protection. The constitutional rights of the people do not have an age limit; I know the Supreme Court said the 2nd amendment can be regulated by age, but then minors who use guns to defend themselves are criminals. This can't apply so simply either.
What is your reaction to my concern? Do you believe the 14th amendment is being applies correctly here?

Thanks for your comment. Because minors are not competent adults, they have legal guardians who get to make decisions for them. As such, they do not have the same freedoms as competent adults. The reason corporal punishment is permitted in some states is that the intent of the parent (to administer reasonable discipline) is not considered sufficient means rea to constitute an assault. It isn't about whether they are considered a threat. Parents have a Constitutional right to raise their children as well. Minors are also not permitted to vote, travel freely, contract with others or to marry. There are many other constitutionally permitted restrictions that apply to minors. Incompetent adults face some of the same restrictions. So, to answer your question, minors do not have the same Constitutional rights as competent adults. - Marc V. Victor

@@AttorneysOnRetainer Thank you for the response. Means a lot.
My last question, If one man stops another from hurting a child on the streets, this is defense of another because one reasonably believes another is in danger of bodily injury. Does corporal punishment complicate this attempt to defend a child?
Example: I block a stranger's hand because I reasonably believe he will cause bodily injury to a child. This is no more force than is necessary to stop the strike. I am not obligated to wait for someone to be harmed before I determine I can act. Your video does say the force used has to be necessary for the moment.

So let’s say a guy is trying to beat another guys ass. No weapons involved and there is only one aggressor. If the victim shoots the aggressor, could he face charges. My understanding is that, that would be illegal. Firearms are equalizers and if the person is unarmed than you must use equal force. I have had a few people tell me I am way off and that it would be legal so I’m questioning my stance now.

Did you feel that your life was in danger? If so “I felt my life was in danger “. Ok what if bad guy says and acts like he has a gun? So someone brandishing a weapon would be assaulted. By that I mean as I was told in class touching the trigger guard? I had to go to court when I was younger because. I was out with friends and a guy was beating his girlfriend. So growing up the way I did I stopped him by hitting him. But them she was upset that I hurt him lol. So thanks to the cops it was a short case. They showed here photos and his. I only hit him 3 times. It was civil case
