Great vid. Thanks for the info. I’d love to review one of these.
Just wish they’d chamber it in more common cartridges!
@@huntershort7936 that’s why Jim mentioned that is why he doesn’t own one in a recent video.
Yes Jim get it in a 6.5 Creedmoor since we know that you are concerned about the cost of Weatherby cartridges and now difficulty to find. Would be nice to see what you think 🤔 as well.
Another phenomenal looking rifle and review by the Wingman himself. I wish that I could afford such a beaut and hunt enough to validate the cost 💲 to my wife. I would probably go with either the .257 Wby Mag or either one of the 6.5s in the RPM or 6.5-300 Mag, since I currently have a .270 Win and .300 WSM.
The rifle looks and appears to be top notch. However, Ammo cost and availability would be my biggest concern😬
The best kept secret in barrels are the BSF tensioned barrels. My Weatherby Carbonmark Pro in 6.5 RPM is 7.5lbs scoped and shoots .4 MOA. These new Weatherby rifles just don't get the love they deserve. Its the Wyoming Magic....
When you can't be objective about a review then you shouldn't do one. No cons? Guess you were paid off.
I am a .270 fan. But my next rifle will be the .257 weatherby mag. With your review I am really looking into the Back Country 2.0 Carbon.
This isn't a "review" in any way. It's an infomercial. Nice rifle - yes - but it ain't all that.
You can buy a custom rifle for the price of that thing.
@@matthewkyle6939 were?
@@Weatherby406 alamo precision rifles. APR maverick starts at like 2900. 👍 I'd bet it's by far a better rifle for maybe a hair more.
@@matthewkyle6939 an Alamo precision rifle maverick would kick this rifles ass any day-
@@Colok10 for sure. I'm not a weatherby guy. I'd take my bergara over this rifle.
Thats a company man there !!!! SHAMWOW !!!!!
The downside to this rifle is it's chamberings. I can't fined Weatherby ammo.
I believe it comes in 308 and 6.5, surprised no 6.5 PRC, buti hear ya...it's a strange caliber lineup which ammo availability is always a concern. I think if someone is in the market for their first hunting gun maybe but if you already have a hunting gun..... Honestly it seems nice but I don't see it doing anything my Tikka T3x 7rem Mag can't do. 😎
Can't beat a weatherby
what happened to ur savage's ???? They quit paying u now Weatherby ?
I love savage but they are NOT in the same class as this rifle, none of them.
I checked the website and the carbon version is 0.4lbs heavier than the standard steel version in the same caliber, compared 257wby, and it's a half inch longer. And +$500.
Given that, what is the plus to the carbon barrel? Just curious and trying to learn
@@jaysonmathis9444 carbon barrels can be shot on long strings of fire without loosing accuracy (to a point). Skinny steel barrels heat up very fast.
Carbon barrels are lighter once you get longer and thicker (for larger cals).
If it’s a hunting rifle, go steel. If you want to shoot it at the range, go carbon.
I’ve been wanting one from the first time I saw it . One day
What's the PRICE???
$3600
Today’s 30 year old male…does cross fit, has sleeves of tats, takes protein supplements, and has 6% body fat. Can’t carry his dad’s Mark V because it’s too heavy.
It looks nice.but I can’t understand why Weatherby still uses slotted bolt heads rather than torx or hex
Just doesn’t look like a Weatherby without Monte Carlo stock….
Oh 2400 to 2500 lmao. If I'm spending 2500, guess what..... I'm buying a better custom rifle.
“We know air is a good insulator, but it is also a good coolant”
Yeah. This does not make sense. Would’ve been nice if they stuck with proof research.
Learn how hunt so that you don't.have shoot at 1000 yds
Learn how to hunt so that you won’t have to use a weapon or even watch their reviews. Go find a nice, sharp stick. When is it ever fair to use a weapon on an animal with drastically inferior intelligence?
Shoot to 1000 to make hunting at 250 easy.
I like hunting but hate waiting. More distance equals more chances. Won’t get those options on east coast.
Down in Florida you can hunt with a spear all year long lol
What sucks about weatherby and it’s the only complaint I have is ammo surplus.
@@JohanWXC You mean animals that have superior senses of smell, hearing and eye sight? How much time have you actually spent in the field vs behind a keyboard sipping soy lattes?
Little help with the cost of Weatherby ammo please. 😁
Great guns but good.luck getting the ammo. Picked up the 6.5 RPM and NO ammo to shoot it!!!!
I just watch 7 mins and stopped the commercial.
I was sheep and goat hunting with a 9.4 lbs 300 prc but for next year I'm gonna rebarrel my 28 nosler into a 26..
I'm also looking at a weatherby back country 2.0 in in 1 of the available left handed chambering
I have a Weatherby Vanguard series 2 chambered in .300 Weatherby magnum & that thing is a punisher! I wonder if that muzzle brake & butt pad on the new carbon fiber rifle is available to put on my rifle?
Can you ask them why they dont make it in 270wby? Seems to be a perfect cartridge for the rifle.
In a 1:8 twist and it would blow the doors off the 6.5. These manufacturers just can't seem to catch on what sells these days.
@@bulldograu1 Exsctly what i was thinking
@@criticalbo I tried to talk with the Weatherby, Christensen Arms and Bergara reps at the SCI conference a few years ago and said it's real simple to catch lightning in a bottle like the 6.5 Creedmoor and make a far superior cartridge by simply putting a fast twist barrel on all 270's from here on out. Winchester came out with the 6.8 Western instead. Which is fine but doesn't solve the 270 win, 270 WSM and 270 Weatherby that are currently being assembled. Put me in charge of marketing people. I've got the best invention since the light bulb ha ha 😂
@@bulldograu1 Thats funny Ive called a few companies and had the same talk. Maybe now that the 6.8 Western is out other companies will update barrel twists. All i know for sure is Weatherby is missing out by not chambering the .270wby in a portion of their lineup. If they offered it with an updated twist in this rifle id buy one right away. Instead Ill probably just build one.
@@criticalbo that's what I did. I put a 1:8 twist on my Tikka T3 in 270 wsm. It's a ballistic monster now. Shoots 170 grain Bergers @ 3013 fps avg. I can ring 10" steel out to 1300 yds 3 out of 3 if I make my wind calls right. Now thanks to the 6.8 Western there's a 160, 162, 165, 170 and 175 grain bullets out there for me to choose from. 6.5 PRC who? Got nothin on my 270.
Just ordered one in 30-378 can't wait!
Weatherby needs to produce their specific rounds again. They haven’t in years. Leaves me skeptical with them.
300 wby is nowhere but auctions and reloading is nearly impossible at the moment
Even with the crazy ammo market I’ve seen quite a few weatherby factory ammo offering on a he shelves in waves. I find lots of ammo on auction because people gobble it up at the store and resell online.
As for reloading I will agree, pretty damn hard to find powders. When you do it’s a race. Same for bullets. Primers, I can get them any day online. Brass just about the same.
There's a lot of it at the sportsman's here in Laramie
@@natehayes82 300 weatherby? What’s the price?
I got lucky the last week at a pawn shop. They had an old box of Speer. 40 bucks
I have the first gen backcountry in 300wby. Lots of components in my loading stash also. It's available you just gotta get creative.
Hey there boss man‼️
Awesome video I absolutely love this firearm And I can't wait to buy one‼️
Can you do a caliber comparison between the 338-06, 338 federal, 33 nosler, 338 win mag, 30-378 weatherby, 340 weatherby❓
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
Ranked according to velocity = 338 Federal, 338-06, 338 Winchester, 33 Nosler, 340 Weatherby, 338-378 Weatherby. In my opinion the 340 Weatherby is the best all around choice of the bunch.
Lightest stock is now the FFT stock from Christensen
so that scope has a bdc reticle?
I have a vx5 with the cds that works great on a 7mag
Why do we never see the big magnums on these reviews, 300 wby for instance, its not just weatherby it seems all manufacture’s go with light calibers
A $3000 gun? Almost all guns that price will shoot .5moa and under and I love when people talk weight before scope is on…most guns nowadays at that price point as well will be around that same exact 8.-lb mark with a scope😅 really depends on what scope you use on any gun… 10lb and under for anyone is a doable easy weight to sling across your back hiking and then hold for the second you need to shoot an animal, or bipod depending on the condition and look still not holding the weight on your hands….$3000 there are a lot of guns out there if someone’s spending that kind of money on one🥴 oh and $3500+ for the titanium one, I know for a fact there’s cheaper titanium built guns out there
Which caliber were you shooting? It would be nice seeing a few more videos of the 6.5 rpm. There still isn’t a ton of information or videos
It’s a great deer round
6.5-300 Weatherby
257 in a fast twist? Would love to know of they will be building this rifle in a 257 WM with a fat twist so I can shoot a 130 plus gr bullet
Does the recoil pad get rock hard in the cold? Does it deform in my gun safe? Finally will it take a year before we can get our hands on them? Also how many jams did you get with that rifle I remember carbon marks had issues jamming.
Recoil pad doesn't get hard and doesn't deform. Zero jams with the new fluted bolt.
So how much is the cost as you have it set up?
about 4K
What would be the best caliber with these for deer and elk both east and west coast. Also how often is the weatherby ammo is out?
I'd go with the 300 Weatherby. Ammo availability is impossible to predict in today's world.
Let’s see the Cooper Rifles Timberline or Backcountry rifle
I'll take one for $300 that's a big paper weight without ammo
only thing holding me back from buying one is caliber offerings
Can I get this rifle in a 270 win? And if so how much is this rifle?
how accurate are we talking though, for what they are asking for these things im looking for 1/4 moa groups youd find in a custom, also the caliber options are atrocious
I’m yet to see a gun that can actually shoot a quarter moa group consistently. Maybe once by accident.
Great review 👍 man I won't this rifle and I won't it now. I've been a Vanguard owner in the past 300 W.M, and it was a tack driver as well. I'll be looking in to this , I like the entire setup !
This vs waypoint?
Can this rifle be custom made for the 7 saum chambering?
Good Review ! What kind of buble level ??

I like the gun but how much it cost please
In those calibers what is the barrel life... i hope not 1000 ROUNDS like the 28 nosler... if so what is a new barrel cost...
No way does one get 1000 rounds out of a 28 Nosler. Try 400-550.
@@nathanadams8207 no one knows for sure even after 1k rounds I'm sure the accuracy is still ok for normal shooting 200yards and in
Nice things come with a nice price, $3000 it is.
Optic info Please
They drop this in a 7 RPM and I’ll be buying one.
Lol. Wait Americans can't get into 7mm they are too busy google eyeing over 6.5 bullets it's halarious.
I exploded a doe in Del Rio with a Sako 30-378 wby mag
👊 👍
Beautiful rifle would be great to know how it handles without a muzzle brake.
The titanium brake doesn't change the balance of the rifle much but obviously when you take it off it boots
Got the 300 Weatherby mag.
Who cares about shooting 1000 yds….it’s a hunting rifle!
Price?
Any left handed versions?
Yes! You can check out all of the build options for this new rifle at weatherby.com 👍
That’s crazy light! Technology, love it . And accurate! No flexing? That’s unbelievable.
3500$ uhhhhhhh
WOW AWSOME 🤙
Does it come left handed
Some do.
Where can I buy one
You can build out and order a Backcountry 2.0 at www.weatherby.com
The only problem are those junk scope mounts you got on it…. $2,500 gun (min), $1,200 scope (approx). Single screw $65 scope mounts!! Come on, you can do better!! And take the level bubble off the scope, if you need that you shouldnt be shooting that rig!! Haha…. Freakin awesome gun though!!
I tried a new Weatherby in 300WM...it sucked. I'm perplexed how my Mossberg ATR 100, (a walmart special) shot better groups than my Weatherby. No barrel break-in, no barrel cool down, just drilling groups inside a nickel at 100yds. Best group for the Weatherby was 10 to 11 inches. You don't have to spend $3k to $4k to get an accurate rifle.
10-11 inch groups? More likely a scope problem. Iv shot dozens of Weatherby rifles and never seen one that couldn’t shoot under an inch.
That’s crazy light. Technology, love it! No flexing?
Nope, solid as a rock
Do you think they will ever come chambered in a nosler 28? Already have these calibers, want the gun but different caliber.
Absolutely amazing job weatherby!
Seriously doubtful since the two companies are direct competitors
They do now
Dont wanna see no more junk carbon guns
sounds like serious bs. too bad, i like to see a nice rifle.
If you guys can't carry a regular weight rifle hunting, maybe you should stay home with the little girls !
Your day is coming, just like it does for us all. When it does, you will either go with lighter rifles, or you'll quit. Between grandson's to train and my love of the hunt, I choose to use lighter rifles. My 'little girl' took antelope, deer, and a bighorn, so I don't agree with your negativity, as if being a female eliminates them from being on the top of the mountain with the rest of us that enjoy the great outdoors and are willing to do whatever it takes to stay there.
Just for your info I'm 62 yrs., been fighting cancer for 2 yrs had a stroke but I still go hunting with a real rifle. I'm a former high speed low drag soldier from the Army. I don't quit or give up. So now give me some more lame excuse for not being able to carry a rifle !!!
I didn't say anything about women not hunting, my wife hunts with me. My daughters did and so do my grand kids.
@@stevegross6873 Steve, Sorry to hear about you having to deal with cancer and thanks for your service. I won't bother you with the details of my military service and the corresponding injuries, but 14 years from now when you are my age, you may find like I did that things get harder; for your sake I hope not. I did backpack out an antelope buck and a cow elk on solo hunts last year, but I was only 75 then:-).
I was not trying to hammer on you. It's when I see younger guy's that are built stout that makes me sick. Thanks for your service.
That is a beautiful, finely made rifle.
I have a similar rifle in a 6.5 PRC Browning X-Bolt Pro. Scope is a Bushnell Elite LRTS 4.5 - 18 x 44 with G3 Xmas tree illuminated reticle. With Hornady 147 ELD-X I get 3/4" MOA for the 1st three shots. But after that the barrel warms up and spreads the group to 1 1/2" and THAT is why I like the Weatherby carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Is will not spread groups when it gets hot.
Nice setup, I two own a Hells Canyon Max Long Range 6.5 Creedmore with Burris Signature 5-25x50 illuminated Ballistic E3 reticle on Talley 20moa rail with anti cant level. Now I get to get a nice travel case, Allen has nice stuff. And yeah this Wetherby is really nice wrapped in carbon
You’re sure it won’t?
