Nina wasn't acting in this scene. Her grandad died shortly before filming this scene so Elena's pain, tears and emotional breakdown were real in this scene. We even see Stefan (Paul Wesley) glancing at the directors to see if they should stop. TVD is an amazing show. I love it.
Not just that. Her grandfather actually died from a house fire which added to the realness of her emotions

Honestly, if I was in Damon shoes, I would’ve told her to turn it off too. You can tell by looking at Elena that Jeremy‘s death was the one that broke her and she’s not lying. There’s no room left in that family tree. I mean, unless your willing to bring back every supernatural creature on the other side to bring them back I wouldn’t do it either. I would just turn it off too.

I felt that level of grief when I lost my mother I had lost in my lifetime virtually every relative I ever had my grandparents, the only two uncles I had, my great-grandmother my mother was just overwhelming I handle grief better now because I understand more about it. In that when we grieve it hurts because of picturing our lives without them in it but they are still there just in a different form. They never really leave us❤
Nina has gotta be one of the most talented actors I’ve seen. Her emotion in this whole scene was absolutely incredible.

@@Mich-elle777 girl no shes not bfr. she had to act different characters and still nailed it, plus tough emotional scenes like the one in this video. you could CLEARLY see the difference between elena and katherine, it’s not easy to do that kind of acting. she may not be the best actor in the world but shes still damn good, anyone should be able to see that. and if not idrc it’s your opinion not mine.

Bonnie and Caroline’s pain were always put on the back burner you see this after Caroline lost her mom and Caroline went without humanity Caroline is definitely a better vampire than Elena was. Elena was selfish.
