    I used to have to report relative bearing and target angle. When I first started I made a waterproof chart and just gauged it on that.

    Can you please tell me does the bearing of the target change when we change our course?

    point system. new one for me. thanks The good ole' compass degrees just seems so much easier. How about Target Angle? Does the point system utilize anything like that? I would think that information would be very useful.

      I think the points of the compass is WAY easier too. This system is required by USCG licensing.

    I think you have a typo on your drawing. Shouldn't '4 points or broad on the stbd beam' actually be '4 points or broad on the starboard BOW'? To match 'broad on the stbd quarter'. ?

    • @cronoxtrigger4791
      @cronoxtrigger4791 2 года назад

      Yes, it should be broad or 4 points on starboard bow.

    Visually how we can tell that ship is closer to collision ya ship will cross from now ya ship will cross stern?

    • @marlinspikebm3661
      @marlinspikebm3661  2 года назад

      This is where you need to look at COLREGS Rules. That’s the rules to prevent collision.

    I saw it was supposed to be pronounced zero if it started with a 0 and pronounced "oh" if it did not start with a 0 to avoid confusion. Is this right or has this rule changed?
