Game could probably benefit from a map. A meat map.

You'd think so watching Vinny but it's really pretty linear - loads of funnelling.
Smiling meat will forever haunt my consciousness untill the end of my days.
A meat map would make perfect sense considering this creature is extremely similar to The Thing and they both seem to be able to absorb their victims' memories and in the case of the Thing it was smart enough to try and build an alien spacecraft out of helicopter parts.
imagine this meat monster, absorbing the known language(s) of the people it eats, and it grows the necessary vocal cords to speak, _and then it talks to the humans/victims._
That's an epic idea.
Imagine a horror movie about this exact creature, but it taunts people and tricks people by speaking to them. And it would be pretty epic if it absorbed memories and knowledge, so it just becomes ridiculously smart.
Like, the thing should just be like;
"Hey- over here! I think I found something, Jerry!"
*Jerry walks in. Meat man proceeds to say*
"Oh-hoh, *YOU FUCKED UP NOW, BOI!"*
*Meat beast proceeds to completely devour Jerry.*

I absolutely adore any and all things related to biological abominations with teeth everywhere, so this game is absolutely fantastic.
Seriously, props to everybody who worked on this. The animations, gameplay, atmosphere... so pulsatingly good!
The only thing that spoils the atmosphere is the way the mough jiggles each time you attempt to eat someone - just like that the tention is gone. Maybe it is done deliberately so that you won't feel weird playing a mass of flesh that is gruesombly killing humans.
For some reason I share your inclination. I love weird gross body horror creatures so much.

Smoking is always a slippery slope. Eventually you'll just be smoking to stop the craving. It's just better to stop while you're ahead. Been around a couple of friends and it's pretty weird to see them start. Don't do drugs kids, it's never worth it in the end.

Unironically, straight edge have become the "coolest" (not to mention healthiest) thing to do. You refuse artificial happiness and live a satisfying life with your mind and perception unaffected by external chemicals. Have a smoke on your death bed, if you're that kind of person, but otherwise refuse it all.

Sugar and caffeine are marginally better than meth, and probably more addictive. If it's not something, it's always another, as it always is in life, but that struggle towards the pure state is the wellspring of meaning and purpose.
All the friends I have that started ended up hating it down the line then telling people not to do it. For some it was driven by anxiety that no one taught them how to deal with, others felt a lack of confidence and wanted something to fill the void.
They ain't happy.
I think it's good though to be open and say why they went towards cigarettes, that way we can understand what people are going through and why they're drawn to these things.

Sometimes, like every once in a while, it feels like Vinny speaks with his eyes since he misses litereally the one single things the game is showing him while talking. I like Mr. Binyot.
You can criticize something and still like it. And your criticism is perfectly valid; he _does_ miss obviously telegraphed things, makes the same mistakes constantly and wanders around aimlessly with little-to-no sense of direction and it is indeed because he's paying very little attention to the game and much, much more to chat and talking. It's consistent in every game he plays; once he gets on a tirade about movies, music and celebrity gossip, he stops paying attention entirely. It seems pretty clear he'd rather just be vlogging about that stuff than playing a game anymore. Frankly, he seems totally disinterested in the game at that point.
I agree with you to a certain degree. Doesn't feel like vinny would be more interested in join vlog rather than stream games. I also do love him talking about topics he is interested in, just sometimes is annoying when he misses obvious stuff.

I basically loved every minute of this game.
People saying that there's no way to find your way around just... I can't even. It's not hard. If you've played a Metroid or Metroidvania at all, you'll be fine in this game.
When you reach a certain point and unlock a very particular ability, shit gets awesome and truly horrifying if you're willing to embrace the "I'm a flesh-absorbing alien" theme. I love this game.
This game is fairly linear. The only part that confused me was after completing the first part of the Leviathan area the screen said I had only found 50% of the biological samples, so I went back looking for them when in fact you get the rest when you revisit later in the game.

Coming in to comment about cigarettes: I quit smoking a couple months back and I agree, I felt healthier within a couple weeks. Also 'fuck it' is the reason to have a cigarette. I replaced em with guitar, drums, piano, motorbike, and exercise. I can drink a few beers and never crave a cigarette any more. I'm sorry reefer gives you anxiety, it works in the exact opposite manner for me. I also quit drinking soda and caffeine entirely - no diet no sugar free NO COFFEE - within a week of cigarettes. You and Red Vox are very inspirational. Love ya, booti, take care of yourself.

To be fair about the shrimp thing, that's where my mind immediately went too. I suppose because it's one of the few food animals people eat close enough to whole that cooks have to cut out the intestine specifically. And we know Vinny watches a lot of food shows, but that does leave the question of where Joel learned it.
Top 3 albums of all time (I knew Vin would say Station to Station lol)... hmm, that is a tough one... For me A Night At The Opera by Queen is definitely #1, I adore that album and I love how everything feels like it was meticulously refined to perfection! For #2, and #3, maybe The Wall by Pink Floyd (the dark/heavy story and atmosphere, and how it all brilliantly fits together is incredibly well-done) and possibly Led Zeppelin IV (an all around great album with killer songs all the way through) or Tommy by The Who (fantastic songwriting and it is a fascinating picture into Pete Townshend's mind. I really enjoy the movie too)
I finished this game, but I didn't backtrack to collect upgrades because of the lack of map, and a lot of the individual rooms looking very similar

Speaking of Bono's piousness, there's that classic story about U2 performing in Glasgow and stopping to make another humanitarian plea. He starts clapping about once every 5 seconds and then after a while says "every time I clap, another child in Africa dies". Then of course, from the crowd, comes the shout "stop clapping then, dickhead". Definitely not true but it's a good joke.

(on the topic of traveling in large groups) Since Vinny mentioned that, I have a funny story: Years ago my family visited Germany with another family. We got two rental cars, one for us and one for them. Only theirs had a GPS so they went first and we followed them so we would know where to go. At one point, they went through a yellow light, and my Dad didn't want to get stuck at a red light and lose them because we would probably get lost. So he sped up and tried to get through, but he didn't make it in time and got caught by the red light camera. When we got home, we kept getting mailed angry letters in German trying to collect a fine, but we couldn't read them or figure out how to pay it. It was pretty funny lol, though eventually they gave up but our joke is that Dad is not allowed to drive in Germany anymore.
