Right?? I had a picture with her and Brett Dalton back in 2015 and she had only 3 hrs of sleep. Let's just say Brett Dalton looks like he was the tired one. Lol
Am so used to seeing her be SOOO serious and straight faced on Agents of Shield, and even Mandalorian - seeing her smile - OMG. Her smile lights up her face! She goes from pretty to "WHOAH!" - Michael was right - I can see how she could light up a room! Additional note: What a great personality! Obviously loves the fans, appreciates her co-workers and what she's achieved. I don't get impressed by very many celebrities (at ALL) but I am with her!
if you watch behind-the-scenes Agents Of Shield stuff, she's always bubbly with the loudest and BEST laugh! The cast always peg her as the first and easiest to laugh. So much different than the characters she plays. She's great!
This has to be one of the top ten episodes of the year. Michael did such a fantastic job with this interview, and Ming Na Wen seems like an incredible person. Her story is just so interesting. I hope that she can come back for another episode one day, she's such a gifted story teller. I guess all that college trained helped her with that too lol.
Also, I agree with many others here, in that I can't believe she's in her fifties. She looks incredible, not just "for her age." If someone guessed she's was thirty years old, if I didn't know better, I would immediately agree. But even more important, she was such a humble, funny, and kind guest. I hope she does see these comments at some point, because she's an inspiration, and if this interview is indicative of the person she really is, then she's someone any of us should love to befriend.
It's sad that this interview has so few views compared to Michael's other guests. She is delightful, so well spoken, and a fantastic ambassador for Asian actors.
@@Cotsos88 sorry, never watched ER , and if I were to name more than 3 roles she played, i would’ve added her voice work as mulan & detective yin in the Batman
I remember first seeing Ming-Na Wen when she was one of the main cast members on the mid-90s NBC sitcom "The Single Guy", starring Jonathan Silverman. She had a great sense of comic timing, and a dry approach to delivering her lines. I'd love to see her in more comedies.
Wow! Ms. Wen was amazing! She's so smart, witty and how can you not love anyone who has the privilege to be a Star Wars character. Especially "The Mandalorian!" She is clearly down-to-earth, family focused and funny too! Great interview Mr. Rosenboom! (Just kidding!) Thank you both!
I am currently halfway through and up way too late. Ming is unbelievable smart, funny, charismatic and plays off Michael really well. This is easily my favorite interview so far!

Although my name doesn't show it, I am Asian-American and grew up watching Ming-Na. What a great role model. And this was a terrific interview to get to know about her. Thanks, Michael.
Michael, I am now subscribed to your RUclips channel because of this interview with Ming-Na Wen. I'm a die hard Star Wars fan. Hearing you two go back and forth was so easy...that hour flew by. This was a great interview and I'm definitely looking forward to listening to more of them. Not sure if you have but please interview more Star Wars folks, Yellowstone, Game Of Thrones, and possibly The Witcher, if possible. I love the questions you asked Ming-Na Wen. Even if she was nervous, you totally made her relaxed. I swear it was like watching two friends talk work over a beer. Well done.
Ming is still looking beautiful and absolutely georgous as ever. I enjoyed your interview Michael with her and I hope you can bring her back for a second interview in the near future soon.
I want to say I knew Ming-Na was Mulan before I watched this, but I don't think I actually made the connection that she's also the person playing Fennec till watching this. On that note, there is something comforting about hearing "Mulan's" voice. Anyway, I'm so glad I went back to listen/watch this episode. I love The Mandalorian and I really grew to like Fennec by the end of season two. When she came back with Boba Fett...it was awesome. Such a strong character and her real self as well. She is so sincere and beautiful inside and out. I really enjoyed listening to her talk about how she got into acting and then going more into the parts she's played. I love that she always loved Star Wars! I'm so happy for her and YES, getting to continue in the Mandalorian AND Boba Fett!! Great interview, Michael, you always bring out the best in your guests.
Ming-Na Wen one of my favorite Asian actresses. Mulan for sure coming out in 1998 was amazing. Her voiceover roles especially with Ellen Yin in The Batman based of Eliza Maza from Gargoyles: The Animated Series was another memorable character. Didn't like Agents of Shield that much but her character Agent May was amazing. I can't wait to see the Book of Boba Fett and seeing Fennec Shand's journey in this new series will be crazy.
One of my absolute all time favorite actresses. It is so funny that she thinks no one will be interested in her in hearing her speak about her life or experiences. I don't watch the podcast that regularly, but when I saw Ming-Na, I immediately clicked on the video. For me, this is the Best "Inside of You" I have ever watched. She is so interesting, intelligent, engaging, real and SO funny!
She has always been one of my favorite actresses. My mom is Asian and we always watched Joy Luck Club growing up, we haven't done it in awhile I think I'm going to have to soon now though.

I loved this! She showed Michael that going with the straight questions, going by the book isn't always the way of depleting the full potential of a guest. By the 2nd half of the interview, she got loosened up, so did Michael and became a better interviewer, at least, temporarily! 🤣👍

Love her. Seen her in so much, too, and never been disappointed. Which is kind of the ultimate complement you can give an actor. Everything she's been in she's made better. There are very few actors you can say that about. Fewer than have received academy awards.
another great show and guest, its nice to hear the guest open up and just be themselves. keep the show rolling, really enjoy listening to them in the mornings while walking my dog before work..
What a great interview! I could relate to some of her issues with regard to her birth dad. It’s always cool to see how people react to the barriers they’re presented with - who surmounts and who walks away.
This really was a great interview. She really is a wonderful person. I'm happy for her success. She'll always be Agent May to me, but she's great in Mandalorian too.

What a great lady and so happy as a massive Star Wars fan, she has made it there and fans are liking her character.
I am such a fan of hers. I loved her on agents of shield and everything else she's done and I had not heard she was going to be on the mandalorian but boy what a nice surprise it was and also was able to enjoy her performance on bad bad. I watch the Star wars shows with my son and we just both loved it
Love Ming Na since ER. Thank you for another great episode! Greetings from the Caribbean
One of the best episodes for sure.
You should try to get the rest of the agents of shield cast on the podcast. They all seem like very nice people.
