I love how Michael is so opened about mental health and how he sees his therapist often.
We see doctors for regular checkups, even if we're not feeling well. We should normalise therapy for when we don't feel ok mentally. The stigma is disgusting.
It'd be like breaking a bone and someone calls your a pussy for going to the hospital.
I didn't know Michael had mental health problems. I know celebrities normally do and still do but not open of it. I'm not open of mine I guess. Hard for me to express everything till it becomes too much of a problem.
its probably a western culture thing too, this "seeing the head doctor/shrinks" and its common never happens in other cultures
I was referred to a therapist once. After our first session, the therapist left the room and I was told he asked his colleagues many questions afterward. LOL. There wasn't a second session.

Agreed, honestly. Michael's Lex is the only one I ever cared about. The movies usually treat Lex as a slapstick villain, while Michael portrayed a more realistic Lex.

I met Laura at a friend's wedding. Couldnt believe it was her as we were in Nova Scotia Canada but it was her cousin. SHe was so nice, so down to earth and had a conversation just like anybody would. Great person.
Great. I have interacted with Laura many times on several occassions. Have had great conversations with her. She is always down to Earth, friendly, and nice. She always makes you feel respected and welcome. Someone I always find very comfortable and pleasant to talk with. Maybe because I've dealt with many of the same things over the years or similar ones. She is just a regular person like anyone else. Someone I have come to know quite personally and has helped me in personal struggles. A great friend she has become.
@ Marco Lewhite: I agree👍. I video chatted with her 1 to 1 but she was so polite, nice and easy to talk to as someone I could easily talk about anything with her. That's how great she was and our talk were great. We both binge watch different shows the same way by the season and take a break from this show and watch another season of 2nd show if that makes sense? I she understood where I coming from when not getting burnout from watching one show non-stop. She gave me few ideas of 80s movies to watch too I havnt watched. Great person.

Yes, she is. As well as kind and humble. And yes I love that she gets excited about, which was flying as Supergirl on Smallville. What Truly gave her the great fans, recognition she has now. And what gave her purpose. Where she has shown the greatest strength and given the most hope/inspiration including myself so personally. She will always be the Real and True Supergirl.
Health is always important without that you can't do your job. Laura Vandervoort so stunning and beautiful. My first introduction to her was in the 2000 Disney movie "Mom's got a date with a Vampire".

This week’s episode was wonderful. Laura definitely opened up. As a fellow introvert I get feeling drained afterwards. Definitely worth watching.
there's a fantastic book about introverts and our place in the world. Its called "Quiet" by Susan Cain. It completely changed how I saw myself and made me realise what I need in my life to do my best work. ie not to work in an effing hot desking environment. I need space and quiet to concentrate (my job is analytical, govt policy and I need to be able to think). I feel more confident about demanding a certain work environment now.
Laura Vandervoot's favorite scene as Supergirl was mine as well. When she flew off the water tower and into the camera at the end of that episode, that was just an amazing closing scene.

Laura is the person that comes to my mind when I think of live-action Supergirl. For me, she is the character, she is the one that came closest to what, for me, Supergirl is.

@@brandirose3874 They hired Laura as an Blue Alien Villain in Season 1 of Supergirl with Melissa as Supergirl. This is called stunt casting where they hire fan favorites as special guest stars. They also hired the original supergirl Helen Slater to play Melissa's adopted mother. They hired Dean Cain (ex-Superman actor) to play Melissa's adopted dad.

Yes, so was I. Laura especially, who has become a greater impact on my life. Being a source of strength/inspiration in my cerebral palsy struggles since dealing with very similar ones of meningitis over the years. Have had many interactions in several places . Someone who has become a great friend.

I like Tyler Hoechlin as Superman because he has a good but not extreme physique. He can look like a normal guy that works out. Where as Henry Cavill is a beast.

Laura is the Real Supergirl indeed. She is a great friend to me who has always been very kind and encouraging. Who has helped and been a great source of strength in my own struggles with cerebral palsy. Since she has dealt with very similar ones in meningitis over the years. I've also dealt with similar ones to her in being an introvert dealing with anxiety, even figuring out my purpose and struggling with comparing myself to others. She has been a blessing.

Glad to stumble onto your channel. You guys who did smallville were a major part of my life. In 2010 when smallville was wrapping up or about to, I survived a brain aneurysm and i wasn't able to do a lot and smallville was a big part of my recovery. Ps I love Laura. She's awesome.

I lost my mother right in the first year of the pandemic to brain cancer, so I can relate to having your mental health be in tatters during the Covid lockdowns. I hope you're doing better now Mike. Your portrayal of Lex was one of the highlights of my childhood. Wish you were in more episodes.

Heard about a potential Smallville animated series. It's being labeled as a "sequel" to Smallville, yet it will always be in a separate universe because it's animated. Then I was thinking about if Smallville returned as a live-action series. If it's not about the Superman years, why not after? Smallville covered the pre-Superman years, what if it then explored the post-Superman years? What if Clark and Lex are old men that have to reluctantly come together to combat a greater evil? Then they have to slowly rekindle the bromance. Think along the lines of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr getting back together in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. ""All those years wasted fighting each other, Clark. To have a precious few of them back." A limited series. Clark and Lex, together again, at the end of it all. No flights, no tights. I'm addicted to this idea.
It can be animated and still connected to the love action show. Star Wars is doing this now.

I dont know if the woman who was rude to her was Melissa or if it was Supergirl, but I think the HBO show in question was Ballers. She was in an episode in the first season.
She mentioned a female lead and later remained rather tight-lipped on her overall experience on Supergirl. So to me it's a safe bet she was referring to Melissa.

Actually, I only really watched Smallville for Michael. To me, his Lex represents how the majority of people IRL would actually react if there was a Kal-El in our society. No one would buy that it was just one solo guy on a farm...

She is a sweetheart indeed. And is a great person and actor. Laura is someone who I have come to know personally and who helps me greatly in personal struggles. Have had numerous encounters with her. She has become a great friend.

Have you met him in person? Imo, he's best live action Lex Luthor. I'd take him, Laura Vandervoort, and Erica Durance in their proper roles in the DCEU anyway. Heck, Michael would make a great live action Flash cause he obviously voiced Wally West and I'm sure he's able to make a live action version possible easily. Same with Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl and Eric's as Lois. I think Jason Mamoa would look great as Lobo, The Main Man easily. He has the eye brawls and bet he can easily be the character.
