    SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
    Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

    No doubt. I have the 1210GR which I bought shortly after their introduction. It satisfies loaded with a Shure V15 type lll and JICO SAS-B stylus. Critical listening reveals it delivers a very lifelike sound from my system.

    Technics is off its meds. The two fully functioning SL-1210 Mk2s I purchased on active duty were $278.
    & $312(post Oct’87 stock market crash)
    They still bring the magic this very day🌹
    I’d never go anywhere near this insane inflation, these days.

    It's still made in Japan and a fantastic deck. I was looking at spending a lot of money on a certain british deck that was being raved about, and it was such a disappointment in comparison to one of these , so I saved myself about £9000.

    These VP bring back childhood memories every time I see them, it was the only tool DJ had. In the late 90s I was able get my hands on a pair of 1500s then end up selling them and buy the Pioneer Pro CD player😢 I should have kept one of them. I would like to get back player because I still have some VR’ but I con’t see myself paying over 4k$ for it.

      the upgrade should be to a SP-10mk2 (SP-1000mk2). Blows the SL-1200G out of the water. can sitt proudly next to the SP-10R still after 40+years. and if you can find and afford the SP-10mk3 (SP-1000mk3)you got the GOAT right there end of story, nothing can touch it, even the new SP-10R (SP-1000R) will need to stepp aside.

    Seriously, for playing vinyl records, which are made with a pneumatic press? You can only do so much with it on the turntable. Anything more than $300 has to be done with the post-processing.

    • @Grimace_Integ420
      @Grimace_Integ420 5 месяцев назад +1

      the vinyl yes. they all stay mostly the same quality. the difference with the over $300 turntables is that they are more heavy reducing the unwanted vibratons, the needle can be more adjusted, the speed is more acurate, parts better built, etc.

    • @MrChristerBerg
      @MrChristerBerg 4 месяца назад

      So, you are basically giving away that you know nothing about turntables and how complicated it is to extract maximum information from a record groove.

    • @ChatGPT1111

      @@MrChristerBerg I can see how a misplaced individual such as yourself might think that but I'd rather donate the difference to charity. And consider this. Someone 10 years younger than you is enjoying better sound with a lesser turntable or even a CD because they actually have much better hearing than you do.

    • @MrChristerBerg
      @MrChristerBerg 4 месяца назад

      You can spend your $ whichever way you want, and feel free to donate as well (so gracious of you) but that was not the point you made. You said that beyond $300 there is no more improvement to be made and that showed that you have no idea about turntables.
