I've looked at these several times debating if I should purchase for my tools at home....never thought of using it for my tackle, Thanks for the idea!!
Love it! I work construction and all my tools are DeWalt... actually have a couple of those t-stak boxes in my truck... been watching all these milk crate setup videos but this blew my mind... "why didn't i think of that?!"... thanks for the inspiration!
bryan paul thanks! It really is perfect for the kayak and the versatility is great. Went to a pond the other day and just threw some boxes into the top case, disconnected and went on. Enjoy!
Great idea, I just bought my 1st kayak and I'm the process of getting it geared up. I was about to purchase one of those expensive crate bags today when I came across your video. So glad I didn't, I ended up buying the craftsman version (IP54/dust & water resistant) which was a better fit for me. Great idea about the rod lanyards also. You saved me a good chunk of money. Thanks for sharing.
I did the same thing with the RIGID crate and clear top organizer on top. The Dewalt tough system works great for camping supplies!! I use a big rolling one, cooler, and medium size for food. Awesome Job!!
I have been using Dewalt tools for years and I love them, BUT their tool boxes are garbage. The Rigid boxes hold up much better. This is not just an opinion. we have proven this in the field. I could give you pictures if we could post them here.
This is a very cool organizer/tackle box, but speaking from many years experience in kayak fishing, you will enjoy yourself so much more if you go much lighter and more simple. I carry a couple rods and one Plano tray/waterproof box. I put my tray and a few things like pliers and a Boca grip in a little tool bag. That bag and a lunch bag, and I'm good to go. God bless and CARRY on.
@@antonpavlovsky3062 Well good for you, BUT smart people will at least consider the opinions of others with more experience. I'll be sure to unsub. I'd hate to burden someone who is so smart with any friendly advice.
Yes, the more I go, the less I want to take each time. It makes it much more enjoyable as too many things are just in the way or difficult to fine.. I suppose if I was going on 2 day trips, i'd pack more, but less and simpler is much more enjoyable.
Very nice use of space and very functional. However I'm not for sure if you've ever flipped a kayak, but I can tell you that your boxes and poles will go to the bottom of the lake. Recommended something more than relying on the bungie cord. Good luck and safe fishing.
No kidding. This system is border line retarded with all of that BS. Might be nice in a bass boat, but in a kayak this is just dumb. I tried to be nice but this guy is a know-it-all jackass.
If it doesn't now it will when the top cracks like almost every Dewalt tool box with any use. Go with Rigid, it's a much better tool box. Tools...not so much. Dewalt is much better for actual tools.
Terrence Hearst I used 10-24 SS screws with washer on the head and lock nuts on the back. They are holding up great. The powder coating is in good shape. If you’re using with Bonafide kayak, you’ll need to open the clasp and turn the ring to fit the Omni hooks.
Josh Cravens thanks! Together, it’s 19.175 according to each of the specs added up. Taller than a standard crate or blackpak, but very accessible. I try to swap out boxes to keep the weight down. Average is about 20lbs. So much room, you could put half of Academy in there!
Raxxy Yak Gear I put it on a bathroom scale and it read 25 pounds. This it the weight with all of the Plano boxes, fly boxes, the soft plastics, terminal tackle, and the rod holders.
This is the best DIY kayak crate I’ve seen on RUclips. Awesome job. Time to go to Lowe’s LOL.

Great idea. Definitely a nice alternative to the blackpak
Great idea, here in Brazil Dewalt box very very expensive.
This was great inspiration. I made this with the Craftsman version
Good idea. I’m copying this for my new setup.
Thanks for this! I made it with the craftsman version!
So did I!!!

i like the cable cuff idea
Thank you, great affordable alternative!
Should get DeWalt to sponsor you that’s awesome!
Great video thank you
This is a piece of genius man.
Great idea
Great ideas thank you!
The master!
They are definitely proud of the black packs and I refuse to spend 150 bucks for a box
How thick of a spacer did you have to use?
Very cool idea! Does any water get inside when it rains?
Shayne Gonzales I haven’t been out with it during any down pours, but it’s got a pretty right seal for sure.

Is it easy to access while on the kayak? Any pics of it in the boat?
Ha, watched video again and see it in the boat lol.
So easy to access. I’m in a Bonafide SS127 and can easily just sort of shift to one side. I can turn completely sideways also. Sorry can’t post a pic.
Is the very top compartment water tight
Nicer than the stuff that is double the price. How much you think that all weights?
I weighed it a few months ago and fully loaded it was about 25lbs.

Thanks you!
How have those d-rings held up over time on the box? Did you screw them or bolt them into the box?

Kayak Dad Awesome. Thank you. I’ll be looking to do the same setup with my craftsman versa stak
Hi great idea. How tall is the whole unit?

Is it tall enough to store the 3600 boxes on end?
I just tried. They will not fit standing on end.
nice system
Says "Dewalt" and "save money" in the same sentence.
how much does it way?
Raxxy Yak Gear I put it on a bathroom scale and it read 25 pounds. This it the weight with all of the Plano boxes, fly boxes, the soft plastics, terminal tackle, and the rod holders.
@@antonpavlovsky3062 not too bad, I would think just above average.
I sometimes take the extra 3600 Plano box and fill with terminal tackle and then take select soft plastics and just use the bottom deep box.
