I have been asked many times why I am not recording on my Steinway Grand Piano anymore. To put it simple, due to various circumstances it has become inaccessible now. I have played the adaptation of "My war" many times since 8pm, and I have read the description in the introduction column carefully. Now that there are full of notes in my head for war drills. I have insomnia 😂 ~ Thank you very much for your hard work! Although many people love the beautiful sound of Steinway Grand Piano, it is not the hammer and keyboard that really touches our hearts, but the emotion and love of anime that Animenz wants to convey to everyone every time in the music! I kinda get the joke but... Technically, it doesn't make much sense cuz. In the case of eren, racism is something undesirable, so saying that racism will be removed when there's no race to be racist about to begin with is an irony and quite the funny joke. However, being a pianist is much desirable, so it doesn't really fit in the context, although I do understand the direction you're going into XD
Oh lord, I can already tell this is going to be one crazy arrangement. Listening to Boku no Sensou you cannot picture it becoming a piano arrangement. Very keen! Edit: This is now definitely up there as one of my favourites from you! I'm currently learning your Kuusou Mesorogiwi arrangement and i can't wait to start learning this one!
Kuusou Mesorogiwi is probably my most "classical music" - style arrangements I have ever done, good choice! Boku no Sensou is also heavily influenced by classical music polyphony.

I love the color palette selection and clean editing to contrast the eerie monochrome piano and hands with the vibrant bold globe and background lighting. The bold red background really complements the parts in the piece with the highest tension, further intensifying that mood. Even though at face value the LH patterns feel simpler and perhaps just a tad repetitive (not to take away from the arrangement, just personal stylistic preference), I really liked the attention to detail on the polyphonic sections and how each individual voice stood out cleanly and clearly. The pattern at 2:19 is my favorite out of this arrangement. I look forward to what you bring us next week! (sorry for the late comment! it's been a busy week)
There were many alternative left hand patterns for the chorus actually in my earlier arrangement drafts, but I think "Boku no Sensou" was deliberately composed in a way to sound monotone - like a death march. So I kept the "Bumm-tss Bumm-tss" - pulse in the left hand consistently. And yeah, you are late, haha
Dang the beginning is so cool like you added some stuff to it and now it's so magical 2. Chorus was also rly nice with the RH runs and the bridge is where the fun begins haha Rly nice arrangement I love the different voices you used in every section xDd
The left hand pattern in 0:08 is actually frustratingly difficult, try it for yourself on the piano! Because usually, these kind of fast patterns have the bass note on the first beat [C#-E-D#-E] [C#-E-D#-E] but I reversed that order to create [E-C#-D#-C#] E-C#-D#-C#] I was surprised how long it took for me to play this unusual pattern in fast speed without losing focus. Should have practiced more Czerny Etudes...

I find quite a lot of elements from your "old school" arrangements here: a lot of references or techniques from the classical repertoire, busy hands, dialogues between lower and higher sections of the keyboard, and crazy difficulty! Even though I love your newer stuff and find the evolution of your arrangements interesting, I hope you'll occasionaly do some arrangements like this one!
Prior to arranging this, I was practicing many classical pieces in the C# minor key like Beethovens moonlight sonata mov 3 or Chopin etude op.10 No.4. It helped me a lot to “get a feeling” of classical music back
As impressive as the performance is, I'm more amazed by how well those are arranged. I played several Animenz songs, being hard is one part, but they seems to be infinitely more sophisticated than arrangements of the same songs from other musicians on RUclips.
Despite not having knowlegde of music, I like to read the description of each job you do. Sometimes listening to the music is enough but when it comes to Animenz, listening and seeing is a whole. Animenz + piano = perfec conjunction. Greetings from Argentina!

The wait is worth it. I always skip anime OP until I listen to a piano cover. This way I can focus on the piece without "hearing lyrics" as it sometimes hinder my judgement of how beautiful a song on it's piano version.

Hi Animenz, your piano play of this song "Boku no sensou" is so amazing! And I really like another very good soundtrack in season 4, which name is "the other side of the sea". I get the feeling of desperation, sense of urgency and determination from that music. It's about Eren, who urge to save his friend and nation with no step back. It's about Lara Tybur, who experienced the lost of her brother from the ruthless enemies. It's about the despair shout of Gabi and Falco, to wake Reiner up and save there hometown. It's about Armin, who got involved into a unwilling war and had to suffer the sin of killing so many people. I really expect that one day you play this music.
I was longing for this day!! I've been listening to many other arrangements thinking to myself, "Animenz needs to come through with this one." I was pleased to see that you weren't smashing the piano loudly the entire time, you added allegro (per usual :)) and some other really nice touches that made the song exciting to listen to on piano! Kuusou Mesorogiwi is probably my most "classical music" - style arrangements I have ever done, good choice! Boku no Sensou is also heavily influenced by classical music polyphony.

I love the color palette selection and clean editing to contrast the eerie monochrome piano and hands with the vibrant bold globe and background lighting. The bold red background really complements the parts in the piece with the highest tension, further intensifying that mood.
Even though at face value the LH patterns feel simpler and perhaps just a tad repetitive (not to take away from the arrangement, just personal stylistic preference), I really liked the attention to detail on the polyphonic sections and how each individual voice stood out cleanly and clearly. The pattern at 2:19 is my favorite out of this arrangement.

There were many alternative left hand patterns for the chorus actually in my earlier arrangement drafts, but I think "Boku no Sensou" was deliberately composed in a way to sound monotone - like a death march. So I kept the "Bumm-tss Bumm-tss" - pulse in the left hand consistently.

The left hand pattern in 0:08 is actually frustratingly difficult, try it for yourself on the piano!
Because usually, these kind of fast patterns have the bass note on the first beat [C#-E-D#-E] [C#-E-D#-E] but I reversed that order to create [E-C#-D#-C#] E-C#-D#-C#]
I was surprised how long it took for me to play this unusual pattern in fast speed without losing focus. Should have practiced more Czerny Etudes...

I find quite a lot of elements from your "old school" arrangements here: a lot of references or techniques from the classical repertoire, busy hands, dialogues between lower and higher sections of the keyboard, and crazy difficulty! Even though I love your newer stuff and find the evolution of your arrangements interesting, I hope you'll occasionaly do some arrangements like this one!
Prior to arranging this, I was practicing many classical pieces in the C# minor key like Beethovens moonlight sonata mov 3 or Chopin etude op.10 No.4. It helped me a lot to “get a feeling” of classical music back

As impressive as the performance is, I'm more amazed by how well those are arranged. I played several Animenz songs, being hard is one part, but they seems to be infinitely more sophisticated than arrangements of the same songs from other musicians on RUclips.

I get the feeling of desperation, sense of urgency and determination from that music. It's about Eren, who urge to save his friend and nation with no step back. It's about Lara Tybur, who experienced the lost of her brother from the ruthless enemies. It's about the despair shout of Gabi and Falco, to wake Reiner up and save there hometown. It's about Armin, who got involved into a unwilling war and had to suffer the sin of killing so many people. I really expect that one day you play this music.
