That is such a good piece of advice that I'm embarrassed I never thought of that. I have the 37 ton Northern Tool splitter that is an absolute bear to move because the tires are always soft. Now I have another way to use my Whizbang cart. Thanks so much Herrick! If any viewers haven't built one of these carts, you don't know what you are missing!

I ended up putting tubes in my splitter tires so they would not lose any air. What I show in the video does “chew” a bit on the corner upright. But my cart is so beat up that I don’t care. The cart not only pulls the splitter, it works as easily to push and back the splitter into position. Thanks for the positive feedback. 👍

Very nice. Gotta build your cart. Looks great.

Looks like about a 3.5 to 1 mechanical advantage lifting the weight of the metal bar; plus you're pushing down instead of up; plus you have contact across both hands instead of a sharper piece of steel on maybe one hand.
Trying to figure out the friction: the bad news is it's now the weight of the log splitter plus the weight of the cart; but the weight is now spread over 4 wheels instead of 2; probably better.
I'm guessing that if you get to a bump the big wheels go over it easily; the small wheels not as easily but maybe there is a leverage trick when the small wheels are at the bump, raise the cart handle higher then push down and forward so leverage helps get the small wheels over the bump. Looks great.

Am I seeing the tubeless tires on your cart? I converted mine over last fall and it has made life so much easier.

Yes I switched to tubeless. Much nicer. I include an update sheet with the book and recommend the tubeless tires. 👍

Just tried to order your book. Despite saying I do not need an account, PayPal will not let me order. Give me your address and I will mail you an old fashioned check.

I wonder why that is? It might be a different web browser will work better. But checks through the Mail work too. Thank you…
