The Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force
Leitung: Squadron Leader Phillip Hateley

The Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force
Direction: Squadron Leader Phillip Hateley
The Royal Air Force has had a ceremonial drill unit since the early 1920s: The Queens Colour Squadron. The fine art of drill performed by these soldiers represents a series of precise steps, at least 350, that must be executed without command. The Queen's Colour Squadron is part of the Royal Air Force Regiment. This team also represents the Royal Air Force on all official occasions, on foreign state visits, serving the Royal Household and Parliament. The idea to perform a show together with the soldiers of the German Guard Battalion at this year's Berlin Military Music Festival was immediately and without reservations accepted by the Queen's Colour Squadron and put into practice together with their German comrades.

Nice to see Germans and Brits united 👍
Yes ,forever in Friendship ! Best Greets❤
Historically European monarchs marry their children into the household of Royal families of other nations. Some way or the other, Europeans are vastly related and deeply connected to each other.
United, yes it's one Dream from my Grandpa .. " Deutsche Kriegsmarine" ....He was a P.O.W .in Arizona..then He came to UK..Farmer Carlisle

FÜR DEUTSCHLAND: ALLES!
I love seeing Brits and Germans together as brothers in arms
I bet those RAF lads had a great time with their German counterparts. I served with them for two years on a NATO base, my boss was an Oberstabsfeldwebel the 2I/C Yank Army, four guys on my section were Bundeswehr, the other guys were yanks, Dutch and Belgians. The Germans really know the meeting of hospitality. I believe the expression they have for it is Kameradschaft. We were hosted at their Kaserne numerous times and treated like honoured guests. Happy days, I rate them very high as professional soldiers and bloody good people.

SEMPER TALIS! Wunderbare Choreographie! Grüße Ex-Drillteam Wachbtl. '08
Semper talis!
Goosebumps!
Love to see these two great nations united here!
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen

Using the k98 is more impressive than the SLR.... BRING BACK the SMLE!
Where is the SLR? All I see is the SA80
Stand Strong for the German World 🌎 💪 ✨️ 😉 🙌 👏.
It would be great to see them bring back out the Mark 4s or the SMLEs because there’s something to be said about using old bolt action rifles for drill. They are thinner and easier to handle than a bulpup rifle.
A few years ago the RAF Regt did a display using the three rifles No4, SLR and SA80 all at the same time and IIRC they did it in uniforms of the times.
Saxons from the river elbe and anglo saxons from the themse marching side by side. 😅😁👍🇩🇪🇬🇧
einfach toll - just great
If they change it it should be for the SLR (FN).
But remember all moves done by the QCS or now the KCS are all drill moves.
That’s why they don’t throw or twirl the rifles around.
Good point Sir, and fitted with a polished bayonet!
The Rifles : **Harder Daddy**
Lol
Das Wachbataillion hat es voll drauf
QCS now KCS is manned exclusively by RAF Regiment gunners, the RAF’s own infantry regiment
Now imagine, 80 year ago, their grandfathers were facing each other in the battlefield!
Woooow ❤ 👍🏻🇩🇪🇬🇧👍🏻
HAMMER 🇩🇪💪🏻🇬🇧
The Funny thing is that the SA80 was fixed by the Germans . I guess we can’t even design Rifles anymore .
Nah. I'm sure you can. Just a lil bit lazy to do it. But you're good though.. lol
Cant say fixed i think. It was a great rifle before HK switched some small details. ❤
@@RNGesus15 It was not you'd be better off with the KAR 98K thats on display than deployed with the orginal SA80 the L85A1.
I'm pretty sure BAE systems bought H&K to carry out the upgrades so technically it was fixed by a British owned German company 😉
@@theemirofjaffa2266 We can, just look at the AWM. It's incredible how a team of professionals design a piece of crap like the L86A1 and yet two blokes in a shed can make the AWM.
Great to see Chris Myers. Served with him at High Wycombe, wonderful chap 😊
Brothers in arms! 👍
Amazing!
Good work rocks!
Its nice to see that one of these units stick to traditional old drill movemts and not do the Amrican 'imported stuff' even though it was well done.
Super !
Germany buy the Battlepass for Animations...
Reminds me of the USMC drill display team from the German team😊
No comparison whatsoever with the USMC drill team.
that's dangerously close. You have to keep an eye on the Germans.
My late Grandfathers told me in the 1970s … in 1914 the Germans were our friends, the French were not. Propaganda was so good that decades later, the ideas still stuck.
meh, in 1914 the british didn't really have a stake in WWI and at first wanted to sit that one out. You guys thought the others would weaken each other and you'll be far ahead at the end of it all... of course you didn't know about the Schliefenplan and that Germany would invade your semi ally Belgium.
Now, I don't wanna say your grandfather lied to you. The british people were very much aaccustomed to Germans and there were many friendships and family ties before the great war. Many Germans worked as bartenders in Britain before the war and were well liked.
That bullpup carbine is an embarrassment.
To be fair it probably is easier to perform classic drill moves with classic rifles such as the K98k.
Perhaps a reintroduction of the SMLE for protocol duty might be an idea?
The British should use their Lee Enfield instead of their current service rifle.
Brilliant, I spent 5 Years on QCS, still think the SLR was better for drill than the SA80. The irony of all this is my Father learned his drill with the Kar98K that the German are carrying back in 1941🤣
Als Obergefreiter schon sowat machen Respekt
Where are the Lee-Enfields??😂
Nothing looks manlier than a German field grey military uniform. I wish it would be a slightly darker grey like the Wehrmacht had.
Semper Talis ✊
UK should use the iconic Lee Enfield as the SA80 IS CRAP. As the Germans appear to using a bolt gun possible K98 with a more impressive display.
it's the K98K
Wow
Penner,das sind Profis!
instead of the grey suited guard battalion drill team, the germans should bring out the blue suited Luftwaffe drill team. it'd be a reboot of the Battle of Britain.
WE are living in the 21st century! The war is over
the drill team is always the same. They just switch uniforms depending on the event/guest. But I agree that the blue Luftwaffe uniform is classy
The German team are great to watch [mite USAmericanised to outside eyes possibly] but aren't their rifles a trifle old fashioned?
Guess that's a question of taste. I definitely prefer the 98k over modern weapons for parading. I mean in a lot of armies officers still wear sabres.
I think the Wachbattalion uses the Kar98k because it can execute traditional Prussian drills, unlike more modern rifles e.g the G3 or G36.
germans and brits belong together!
German Wehrmacht did it the best.
Wachtbattalion Gross-Deutschland. @Dibley8899
Anglo-saxon army
All movements are in the drill manual? I think it’s more likely that it’s just “butch dancing”. The Americans do it so well but the British do it will style!
Why are the germans using ww2 guns lol
Its called Tradition! And the 98k is a rifle from BEFORE ww1
i see the german drill team have copied what the yank drill team does.

One military unit and one group of cheap hotel employees.
The condition of the troops can be seen from the age of the guns.
The Germans could actually present flintlock rifles right away.
They are nothing, they have nothing and they can do nothing.
🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like you got an itch in your head, and you want to get rid of it by trash talking.
The Germans did great in this performance. Propably youre just jealous or have actually no clue what is happening here.
To such a statement, I would rather have the comment of someone who has an idea of the things he is talking about...
Those are kar98k bro wtf, thats tradition. The russians use they sks, the US the m1. That is called keeping traditions, also is the sa80 one of the worst service rifles the british ever had 😂
It's a matter of tradition that the Wachbataillon uses the Karabiner 98k instead of the G36 (our Armed Forces' service weapon)
You should check your facts first, THEN speak
You’re the kind of guy that says Germans should be goosstepping because that’s what they did before.
The Germans are becoming very American
Very brash and over the top with rifle spins 😂 ours is by the book
