You would be able to swim out of the water... The lack of gravity doesn't change the fact that you are pushing against the water to propel yourself...

An interesting effect, but utterly false. Avalon uses spin gravity, and an 'interruption' means it stopped rotating in an instant - the ship would rear itself apart.
