      The only people worse than you guys on youtube are the ultra racists. This from someone who is constantly on reddit. You don't even make an effort to be clever anymore it's just "oh le reddit army is here we're going to take over this video." then you guys just circle jerk for a few hours while everyone watching makes a pact to never use reddit because apparently it's the most annoying fucking website out there.

      +MrJbkilla whats the problem? reddit brings alot of eyes to the creators video and will increase his subscriber count and talk and teach a large variety of people who wouldnt have come. From what i can see most people who have come and commented recently are very supportive and being pretty supportive. What the issue you see with it?

    • @MrJbkilla
      @MrJbkilla 8 лет назад +8

      +SaintSoulja it's not about the general reddit public it's the 100 or so odd users that just sit on r/videos and get one every single one just to go comment about "le reddit army" and then go back to reddit to wait for the next video so they can do the same thing over and over.

    I love that you see the links between Platonism and Gnosticism. Many appreciate that it has that influence but few read one in light of the other and it's something I love doing.
    Not just "Gnosticism" but all of religion. Lowercase g gnosticism. A theology based on knowlege over faith. Loaning "gnosis" to English makes it sounds almost magical but it really just means "knowledge" or in other words seeking education.
    Not "having" knowlege (only know that I know nothing) but "seeking" it (know thy self)
    I also disagree with Descartes about animal souls. I love his "I think therefor I am" though.

    Wow! Thank you for this video...it definately cleared up some things that i didn't know and gave me a hunger for things such as methodology which i think will be useful when i am doing my Philosophy paper this year...not that i would use that kind of wisdom for evil,,,,,,though, it would be good if i could develope it for myself. but i think there is something about methodology which i was trying so hard to understand which i couldn't understand really though i knew that it was really good to cultivate and have that kind of wisdom for myself....so thank you. In my studies of theology, i do often wonder about the relationship with the soul and the body which i am unsure of. I guess not all Christians may agree with each other about the soul and the body.........i guess right now, i am thinking that the soul and the body are connected intimately. I think the body can be "tainted" with original sin, and that with the right amount of experience and teaching you can successfully go through and come out fine from a wilderness experience that Jesus also went through. I don't know really, in the Bible, i think it does say that our bodies will decay and experience death, and that the righteous will also be given new bodies as well. i guess we must have the same soul/spirit when we get our new bodies so maybe the relationship with the soul and the body while here on earth during our first lives are not that connected really. i don't know.

    'Get the question right.' I had a professor in a philosophy of religion course tell us 'religion is understood on a problem-solution basis. It suggests a human problem, and then you believe in this solution.' I ask 'well what if you don't believe that the problem is -truly- thee, problem.' He offered a sports analogy and so I took up engineering.

    At 8:30 it's "there are more things on Heaven and Earth, Horatio". It's funny how much Tim Wilson has changed since this. It's like he's realised it's all just bullsh1t. "Old people care about their general health and children ignore the causality of existence and play with trains instead". Front page news, that is. 4:55 doesn't suck. It's funny people that own a Tony Blair book because they care what he said and did in his political career instead of thinking he's a big beautiful mother with a big crazy neck.
