I visited the cliffs of moher last April, I was surprised how much it looked like the coast of newfoundland.

What a treat-seeing it with crowds is truly fantastic! During the first week of July last year, my wife and I walked past all of the cows to the old tower, and you’re correct about the crowds as there were probably fewer than ten about us for an hour’s time. We feel so blessed to have experienced this beautiful local as well as much of Southern Ireland. Love your videos !

I like how thorough you are. You show and explain a lot more than others do. I'm new here and I've been reading your blogs and enjoying them esp the Stairway to Heaven blog. I found out loads in that blog and video combined than in any other.

Great videos !!! I'm Irish and have never been to Ireland 🇮🇪 your videos help me escape to Ireland without going, hopefully I'll get to go one day. The information in the videos is swell. Amazing locations, I'll definitely have to pull up a video when I take my trip in order to find these beautiful places!!!!

I will be staying in a cottage right near the cliffs in walking distance next month. I plan many walks there to Cliffs of Moher both morning and evening. Seeing your happiness brings me joy. Much love, dear.

Unreal. Part of the thing I hate about the Cliffs of Moher (and I've visited twice now) is the overcrowding. It's a beautiful place, but it's overwhelming and I prefer so many other places because of that. You really lucked out!

I was lately in Eire with my children and too bad we did not get to the cliffs (daughter was really ill), so we will have to wait for the next time. To be exposed to the rough elements of nature is a superb experience, but I have to say that I find it a little dangerous there if you get too close to the edge while the wind blows like crazy. Our main purpose this time though was to visit the place where our ancestors used to live (Killarney, Killorglin, Caragh, Glenbeigh) before emigrating to Spain, the Phillipines and South America after Ross Castle surrendered to Cromwell's Roundheads... This trip to our roots was pure magic!! and for sure we will be back (this time also paying a visit to Tom Crean's pub, since he was an acquaintance of my great-grandfather, who was third officer of the Chilean Navy vessel that picked Shackleton's men from Elephant Island, Antarctica) greetings from wild, wet, windy, and wonderful Western Patagonia, Chile

My Ireland trip last year included the Cliffs of Moher. I absolutely loved it!! I couldn't see Inisheer as well as you did, but I got a hazy glimpse of it. I loved watching the waves crash at the Burren. The entire island is beautiful.

Last August my boyfriend and I visited, we drove with the public bus from Galway to the Visitor Center. It took us over 2 hours, but we hade nice views and it wasn`t that expensive (I think around 13 Euro per Person one way). We then walked to Hag`s Head and than back to the visitor center and than all the way to Doolin. There we had some food at the pub and then took the bus back to Galway! It was bit of a journey, but it was such a lovely day and you can do it on your own, even if you don`t have a rental car and want to spend more time there than the organised trips have!

We visited Moher in 2018, but to be honest, we much preferred the Kerry Cliffs. Absolutely gorgeous.
We’re in Ireland right now. Heading home Tuesday. Skipped Moher this time, but definitely returned to Kerry.
We were there just last four days ago.
By the way, on your recommendation, we visited Doo Lough Valley. Thank you. It was stunning.

I went there 20yrs ago and me and my ex walked along the cliffs for 5 hours and slept at a bnb, it was grand! We were there at a time with strong wind and waves, so the caves at the bottom of the cliffs made thunder sounds, a bit like when you clap your hands when hollowed - My recommendation is to go there when windy to really hear and feel the power of the sea

When we were there in August (first weekend!) this past summer, my son and I were there with MAYBE 10-15 other people walking about. It was amazing. We weren't as lucky as you, but it was pretty neat to visit for the first time and barely have anyone else there in the literal busiest time of year.
They are wonderful, but I think there are so many other wonderful places in Ireland after driving around the island for 17 days. Not sure why first-time visitors ONLY focus on Dublin -> Cliffs of Moher -> Galway when they have 5 days instead of focusing on a single region and seeing all the great things in that smaller area.

Leaving in four days; train from Dublin to Galway. Reserved a car for the next ten days. Will take the ferry to the little island and, weather permitting, along the cliffs on the return trip. Connemara Sky Road, three days in Clifden. Kylemore Abbey. Roundstone. Three days in Athenry, visiting our very lovely friends, Aisling and Ray at Backpark cottage bnb. Day trips from there (Perfumery, Athlone, Bunratty). Then up to Donegal for four nights. Want to see the angry ocean! One final stop in Trim before heading back home. Our fourth trip over. You can never run out of places to see!

We were there on August 22. We arrived about 20 minutes before the visitor center closed. While we did not have the place to ourselves, our group of 4 was a large percentage of those present to see the sunset on a cloudy day.

Im coming to Ireland on the 21st of this month and I'd love to visit the cliffs. I won't have a car though, so do you think it'd be possible to take to bus from Galway to Doolin, then walk to the cliffs and hags head, then catch the bus back to Galway all in a day?

  • @NiagaraThistle
    @NiagaraThistle 8 месяцев назад +1

Doolin was great! Spent our nights sleeping in Lahinch and eating, drinking , and enjoying the craic in Doolin!
The Burren was a great stop drive too! Sadly We used Google Maps to drive from DOolin to Galway through the Burren, BUT Google took us the most 'efficient' route and we missed a lot of the 'coolness' of the Burren. In fact, I was so desperate to explore the Burren that on our last day in Galway, I left my family in the B&B at 4:30a to drive BACK to the Burren and visit Carron Church, Poulawack Cashel, and the Pulnbrone Dolmen. It was worth the rushed 5 hours out & back solo trip!

Drone photography is not permitted at the cliffs of moher. Be cautious around national monuments. Fines can be steep. I was lucky enough to go there during the winter period and it was empty although not as empty as your time. Lovely video.

@@Live.Adventure.Travel that's handy. Good on you for following the rules. I was at Giants causeway last year and didn't bring my drone for this reason and people were sneaking their drones out. Oddly enough always the visitors to the country and the people who live here have to deal with the fallout from it.
