How to Make Clay Sculpture
Modelling In Clay For clay modeling , you must understand the process that is not complicated at all . To start making a clay sculpture you don't need to have many things . It is one of the cheapest ways to create a sculpture . What you need for modeling is a wooden base . It can be a 2 " x4 " x16 " piece of wood , you need a frame , it can be wood or a piece of steel pipe . You will need a little clay and some hand tools if you don't have any , you can use a butter knife , a fork . And most importantly , your fingers are the number one tool . To start a model after having everything set up , you can start by simply adding a piece of bulky paper and with a piece of masking tape secure it to the base to start creating volume . It is best to work your clay first . This simply means taking a good amount of clay and starting to squeeze it to soften it and make it better malleable . You can use a kitchen rolling pin to roll a good amount of clay and make the flat , then add it to the frame like in the video to start cresting the sculpture in clay .
