Such nobility in the first movement, with such a profound noble entrance, and heartfelt song-like playing. Her polyphony for this Sonata is UNBELIEVABLE! She takes wonderful care of the beautiful polyphony as if it were Bach. Her second movement is filled with a wonderful playful character, a true Scherzando indeed! Such humour enough to make the saddened person laugh! Contrasts it with beautiful lyricism. A beautiful, elegant, return to the Scherzando after a sighing warm middle section! What a flamboyant ending! Such a fiery force in the opening of the 3rd movement-immediately contrasted by a singing, low, darkness. I hear nothing but breathtaking lyricism and just pure, lush, amazing beauty! I cannot describe in words just how magical of a night we have in this 3rd movement! Such darkness! Such humility! Such like a nocturne! I adore the tender, melodic lines of humility which she so beautifully and amazingly, and warmly sings out, from her soul, into her fingers!
You have stolen the words right out of my mouth. This is absolute perfection in every possible way. The entire piece would certainly make Sir Frederic very proud indeed, but that 3rd movement is a God-Send. Music just does not get any better than this period.
She is so wonderfully musical and I have been very impressed by all of her other Chopin interpretations, and her incredible Van Cliburn performance which actually led me here. I agree that the 4th movement is too gentle. The anger, passion and pride aren't yet there, but that's the flip side of a very sensitive, humble and delicate and complex approach of music that is her trademark and makes her so endearing.
When I began listening to this performance, just the first few bars alone was enough to make the listener fall into a state of "heaven on Earth". I cannot express in words just how beautiful Madame Su Yeon Kim's playing is.
When I listen to Su Yeon Kim's playing, I hear only life. I can only hear a breathing living being in every note she plays. Every single note is a breathing force of nature. I will continue saying that she has nothing short of miraculous beauty in her 3rd movement harmonic progressions-different harmonies bring different colors-and even in such a slow movement, which most pianists play like plain white rice with no taste-Madame Su Yeon Kim brings us a color of totally different facets in this work of genius. I hear so few slow movements played to the magic as Madame Kim does her's! Different harmonic changes bring different colors-I hear a color change with every single chord she plays! Magic! I so admire this playing of Madame Kim's! It is nothing short of a miracle! I cannot find a single moment of boredom and mediocrity in this young woman's playing! I simply cannot! This is truly amazing-I do not know how to express in words my awe and silence as I hear Madame Kim perform! A truly beautiful ending to her beautifully breathtaking magical third movement!
I can't agree with you more on 3rd movement, and your comment "Miraculous Beauty". Her performance is the reason I started to first understand why Chopin had to put 3rd movement the way it is in this sonata. It was such a peaceful, calming consolation in intense seeking of the truth, which leads to the final movement where everything majestically stretches to unification. Suyeon's performance is actually the missing link I was looking for to truly understand the beauty of the sonata. I gratefully want to follow her music career as of now. p.s. I find her Bach's Partita is also stunning posted on RUclips.
Subtlety and grace are hallmarks of Ms. Kim's playing. The dynamic shadings within phrases are too beautiful for words and must require enormous concentration. So I can easily forgive a few muffed notes. Her mind and heart are on making music, and I'll gladly take that, any day. The rest will come. Also, I've rarely heard the love she has for the music. It's infectious and inspiring.

The fourth movement, is sadly, a bit overpedalled! A few inaccuracies! I liked this movement, perhaps, less than the other movements! A more fiery, agitated approach, would perhaps be more appropriate for a call-to-arms. She instead employs a more lyrical, gentle approach to this con fuoco movement! This movement also lacks the beautiful transparent quality evidently seen in the other three movements!
I agree with you on this point, too. Maybe a few years later when she is physically and mentally old enough to pose colorful differences still when it comes to works like the 4th. movement that takes simply much power and decisiveness, I think I would often see her on the final stages on prestigious piano competitions.

In my opinion the most musical player of this year's competition..very sincere playing at all times
She is truly amazing indeed!
totally agree
Sir Fryderyk Chopin is the pride of Poland! The whole country is very proud of him! 🇵🇱
Sonata in B minor Op. 58 - one of the most incredible masterpieces ever created by a genius Chopin. . .

She is just amazing… her sound is just…
An awesome performance, played with delicacy and feeling. The leggiero touch was sublime in the second movement with a great contrasting slow section.
Can't believe she couldn't make it to the semi-final after this immensely gorgeous performance.
I think one think that got her out of the 3rd stage was a mistake in her Nocturne op 48 no 1.
@@ilovemycatrussell9298 A mistake did not keep her from moving to the next round.
Bravo.....superior performance!!!

Nice job. :) I would prefer that you take a moment in between the movements 2 and 3 but that is subjective.
flawless..

Great but my favorite performance of this sonata among the young pianists is Anna Fedorova .
