1:48 shingles are nothing like roof tiles. shingles are basically sandpaper. they use bitumen to stick the sand to the paper and to repel the water. shingle roofs need replacing every 5 years.
Pyrion I've never found anyone else who had heard of Masquerade ... There was a bee one too. The bit where it described the head being pulled off and "thrown away screaming over the mountaintops" has stayed with me for 40 years
This thing of the odds being stacked against you is what I think killed Nosgoth. It was a battle arena pvp thing from the Soul Reaver universe. It was cool as fuck tbh. 5 vampires and 5 humans face off in an arena. The problem was the humans were obviously disadvantaged cos they're humans, so it kind of became an uphill battle every time you played human and you'd just wanna play vampire. And I think this is why the game actually died, cos one half of the game was a lot more frustrating that the other half.
"Game is meant to be fun" is such shaky ground. I think Im totally in Lewis' camp overall, but I do see where people that want to follow rules more closely are coming from. For MTG: the cards in question were banned because they were massively OP and contributed to very quick games. The type of game decks that "can win in 3-4 turns" produce. I personally hate really quick aggressive decks that try to finish a 4-player match in less than 30 minutes, regardless of winner. My least satisfactory wins were like that. So yeah, there's an aspect to this that banned the cards for "more fun". But there's also the side where creating a very finely tuned, powerful deck that gets consistent and precise combos out is a huge chunk of the fun. Most of these arent about having 20 board wipes - me, a guy who loves longer games and to win with 10-mana cards, tends to have the most wipes in my playgroup. I also got really bummed out by the bans personally. I owned only 1 card of the list, a mana crypt. I pulled it out of a card pack. Finding cool, strong (and thus expensive) cards is one of the main reasons Magic players buy (gamble) with card packs. And I wont lie, it was incredibly fun to have this one Mana Crypt in my pet deck. Knowing it was "worth" 200€ or so made it all the more of a "wow" factor. From that angle, I get some of the frustration about the bans - though by no means was the hate, vitriole and anger justified. The game shouldnt be treated as an "investment". For Blood on the Clocktower: 100% agreed with having a storyteller that bends the rules for a more fun experience and story. Big supporter of the idea to fudge rolls and go with the flow of rules in TTRPGs aswell. BUT there too, the fun depends on the group. I personally want my RPGs to provide with cooperative storytelling moments and only secondarily wanna use my stronk characters to punch goblins good. But because of that secondary bit, I do understand the rules lawyers. Reading through alot of rules, checking online for good builds and then making something powerful within a ruleset is really fun aswell, then doing a huge turn of mega-damage is a result is very satisfying. A DM (or storyteller) that removes something really cool that is a fringecase but allowed RAW can be very frustrating - and that is the very thing DMs that fudge rules sometimes do. It's a fine line between robbing a player of a cool moment that might make a big battle less significant thus cause a bit of a let-down story-wise. Likewise, in BotC, fudging a rule to get a better game can be a necessary or good decision but it's difficult to stay within the lines. Plus, it all comes down to the group. There are groups in TTRPGs that are happy to grind through 10 identical'ish dungeon rooms, fight RAW correct monsters, get the rewards and take the punishment if it happens: they treat it more like a tabletop game to be beaten. That aint my cup of tea but it exists. Obviously, people that produce games as entertainers for an audience tend towards a very different style.
I'd love to try DMing but i dont know people who DND. I also recoil at some stereotypical things players do and it puts me off. Like the Bard who fucks everything. As a DM I'd just kill that guy every game, but tbh that's mean so i'd just forbid that kind of play.
If pyrion only knew how bad american politics have gotten. Marjorie Taylor Green is just the tip of the iceberg. I just got out of the country because there is no hope for it getting better. We've been circling the drain since Reagan, but things have really sped up in the recent years.
Im a Floridian and I promise you that Lewis' comments are the same things we say every year about the situations
And in his defense, if anyone deserves it, it’s us.
SIPS AND PYRION ON BOTC MY BODY IS READY
I can't wait for the Jingle Jam. It's always so fun.
good to know they recorded this around the time around the time i lost power
God, I love the Blood on the Clocktower vids

Nice one chaps. Just what we need to wind down before the weekend.
Triforce! #301 - Lewis has lost his mind
Probably
@@Jasper_Hill ??? Forget to change your account lol?
Clarifying 😘
@@Jasper_Hill I assumed as much, but you see it all the time haha!
Karl Pilkington is surprisingly good at serious acting. He was pretty damn good in The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe.
How did I instantly know what book Sips got? LMAO.

So I know when I listened to this episode since Spotify doesn't offer this feature yet.

‘Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt in every film’ is possibly the worst take in triforce history
How is the Lebanese family Lewis
Never knew Pyrion was a massive FC Metz fan.

I ain’t reading all that, I’m sorry that happened to you or I’m glad it worked out that way
Yeah
Ya, if I lived in Florida I would have a concrete bunker house built 10 feet off the ground on steel piles driven 50 feet into the ground.
1:01:25 i just drink the pickle juice and grab a few pickles, taste fine and its great electrolytes if you have a hangover
I've never been this early!!
not a minute in and Lewis is already joking about people dying recently 😵
Classic
Yeah. And it's funny as hell
Please don't pretend to be offended for us. Floridians are not upset by comments like that, we make them every year ourselves
Lmaooo flax liking the *mets* such a bad team but they did make it almost!!

Welp, this episode is clearly dated lol... So uh, how about those Dodgers? 🤣
