Cobblestones are typically either set in sand or similar material, or are bound together with mortar. Paving with cobblestones allows a road to be heavily used all year long. It prevents the build-up of ruts often found in dirt roads. It has the additional advantage of immediately draining water, and not getting muddy in wet weather or dusty in dry weather. Shod horses are also able to get better traction on stone cobbles, pitches or setts than tarmac or asphalt. The fact that carriage wheels, horse hooves and even modern automobiles make a lot of noise when rolling over cobblestone paving might be thought a disadvantage, but it has the advantage of warning pedestrians of their approach. In England, the custom was to strew straw over the cobbles outside the house of a sick or dying person to dampen the sound.
Cobblestones set in sand have the environmental advantage of being permeable paving, and of moving rather than cracking with movements in the ground.
Cobblestones were largely replaced by quarried granite setts (also known as Belgian block[2]) in the nineteenth century. The word cobblestone is often used to describe such treatment. Setts were relatively even and roughly rectangular stones that were laid in regular patterns. They gave a smoother ride for carts than cobbles, although in heavily used sections, such as in yards and the like, the usual practice was to replace the setts by parallel granite slabs set apart by the standard axle length of the time.
In England, it was commonplace since ancient times for flat stones with a flat narrow edge to be set on edge to provide an even paved surface. This was known as a 'pitched' surface and was common all over Britain, as it did not require rounded pebbles. Pitched surfaces predate the use of regularly-sized granite setts by more than a thousand years. Such pitched paving is quite distinct from that formed from rounded stones, although both forms are commonly referred to as 'cobbled' surfaces. Most surviving genuinely old 'cobbled' areas are in reality pitched surfaces. A cobbled area is known as a "causey", "cassay" or "cassie" in Scots (probably from causeway).[3]
Cobblestoned and "setted" streets gradually gave way to macadam roads, and later to tarmac, and finally to asphalt concrete at the beginning of the 20th century. However, cobblestones are often retained in historic areas, even for streets with modern vehicular traffic. Many older villages and cities in Europe are still paved with cobblestones or pitched.
In recent decades, cobblestones have become a popular material for paving newly pedestrianised streets in Europe. In this case, the noisy nature of the surface is an advantage as pedestrians can hear approaching vehicles. The visual cues of the cobblestones also clarify that the area is more than just a normal street.[4] The use of cobblestones/setts is also considered to be a more "upmarket" roadway solution, having been described as "unique and artistic" compared to the normal asphalt road environment.[5]
In older U.S. cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh,[2] New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, New Castle, Portland (Maine), Baltimore, Charleston, and New Orleans, many of the older streets are paved in cobblestones and setts (mostly setts); however, many such streets have been paved over with asphalt, which can crack and erode away due to heavy traffic, thus revealing the original stone pavement.
In some places such as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, as late as the 1990s some busy intersections still showed cobblestones through worn down sections of pavement. In Toronto streets using setts were used by streetcar routes and disappeared by the 1980s, but are still found in the Distillery District.
Many cities in Latin America, such as Buenos Aires, Argentina; Zacatecas and Guanajuato, in Mexico; Old San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philippines, Vigan; and Montevideo, Uruguay, are well known for their many cobblestone streets, which are still operational and in good condition. They are still maintained and repaired in the traditional manner, by placing and arranging granite stones by hand.
In the Czech Republic, there are old cobblestone paths with colored marbles and limestones. The design with three colors (red/limestone, black/limestone, white/marble) has a long tradition in Bohemia. The cubes of the old ways are handmade.
In the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, the retreat of the glaciers during the last ice age left numerous small, rounded cobblestones available for building. Pre-Civil War architecture in the region made heavy use of cobblestones for walls. Today, the fewer than 600 remaining cobblestone buildings are prized as historic locations, most of them private homes. Ninety percent of the cobblestone buildings in America can be found within a 75-mile radius of Rochester, New York.[6] There is also a cluster of cobblestone buildings in the Town of Paris, Ontario. In addition to homes, cobblestones were used to build barns, stagecoach taverns, smokehouses, stores, churches, schools, factories, and cemetery markers.
The only public cobblestone building in the US is the Alexander Classical School, located in Alexander, New York.

That bug from the Teleportation is due to unloaded chunks/render distance. If you are at the edge of your island the far opposite edge will not be loaded. So if you are TPed to the other side your game will think you are in the air and start falling. Can also happen with some farms if the goal portal is out of render distance.

Just in case i wanted to add that you can fix that by using a few portals to get back you dont have to destroy half of the farm
when i made a super short one it didint work thats definitly not the case
I have a small coblble gen so it is not being affected by loading and unloading. However I still get stuck on the pad. usually when I have too much speed. This could also just be thap tp pads have a cooldow or somting.

Yo Implodent I’m AnIronmanMoment lol ty for clout and anyways there was some short period of time before now where you could break almost any ore on any island and it wouldn’t lose durability, it got patched but there might be some maxed pickos from that time, I could’ve done it but no motivation, really tempted to do it now since im Ironman and it’d be the coolest collection item i would have

to stop the tp thing place a fence where the tp pad is gonna be then place it and if u are in the perfect middle it will tp u it will take some time to tp urself though unless u perfectly align urself wich i think is worth it edit: to align urself if u have a gaming mouse u can use a dif tp pad that makes u face where ur cobble gen goeos then set ur sensitivity to only go up and barely to the side

For some reason my pickonimbus isn’t insta-mining the cobblestone at all. Even though it has 1500 base mining speed. I don’t have efficiency 5 on it, but neither did yours in the video 🤷🏼♂️. I only put compact on it (and refined reforge). It’s slow 🧐

placing it on very very very small windowed size is a dumb idea if u get macro checked u for sure wont see it which could get you banned, make sure to always watch your screen!
i mean yea you have to pay attention incase your teleport pad gets bugged anyways. whenever i heard the exp sound stop i just checked the window
Btw u dont really need to make the window tiny. There is a chrome plugin called Picture in Picture (which also works on opera) U just press Alt + P and u have a mini video u can watch while mining. (Very useful if u dont have a second screen or are on a laptop like me)

there might be ghostblocks near the tp pad, like a few blocks, but should not be a problem for the entire generator, i remember it happening in 2019 when there was no other way to lvl up mining xddd

By the way you can go over 400 speed if you use young dragon (and/or a black cat, but I'd guess there's better pets for efficiency.)

if you put a slab right next to the teleporter (the direction you are going) then you wont have to worry about getting stuck, but with some blocks, slabs have a lower level than blocks like the enchanting table or chest, I would definitely recommend the enchanting table rather than chest or slab, as long as you are going in a continuous speed ( as long it isnt too slow, continuous speed is definitely recommended) you will not get stuck whatsoever, this works with going sideways and going straight on, the minimum speed i would say would be 100 and the maximum is too the max (however fast you want to go). ps i would like to get credited. Your big gamer BirdyChirp, forgot to mention, you dont have to worry about the teleport pad distance, go as far as you like

Honestly it’s not rare at all. You can go to the crystal hollows and mine hardstone bc when it gets low, you can use another pickonimbus to repair it. Now, the most likely outcome to this is that I’m an idiot and it gets rid of compact whe u repair it pls correct me if I’m wrong.
i can't combine two of them with 4,998 and 4,990 respectively in an anvil or reforge anvil, so idk about this

I just wondered, does it matter what pet or armour we should use whilst doing this? I.e. black cat for speed, or a mining pet for more mining fortune? And any specific armour we should wear too?

if you have a pet with a qc, use that for more fortune. but if you have a scatha, use that for the wormhole perk.

i found that you can put a trapdoor ontop of the teleporter, on the bottom half of a block, and you will most of the time get pushed ontop of the trapdoor, but i have, very rarely, fallen down and through the teleporter and like 2 blocks below it

This most likely won’t help for this but the only why I’ve found if not getting stuck in the teleport pads is to lower your speed by a lot maybe you could put a door on the block to stop you from going to far
I could also be very wrong here
yea lowering speed by a lot makes it more consistent. it happened to me a TON with 500 speed

So basically I get a lot of ghost blocks that's why I made 2 cobble farms very far from each other and I tp to each other at the end of one farm so that once I get ghost blocks and get tped to the other farm, the ghost blocks fix themselves as the chunk unloads but I read someone's comment saying the getting stuck glitch is because of the chunk unloading so I rlly don't know what to do now

you can set a teleport pad two blocks behind the entrance to the gen, and one block up with a slab on the bottom half of the block above it, with railings to make sure it doesn't bug you to the side, and that should work (so i've been told)

i honestly have no idea how to fix the flying teleport pad issue but when im farming potatoes the way I fix this is by not using sprint when I get to the pad and just using arrow keys, never gotten stuck on a pad using that, almost always get stuck when sprinting. hope this helps in some way idk if it actually does though

freezes ice so occasionally the tba is halved because the minions don't have to place a block

i didn't mention in the video bc i'm an idiot i guess, but the scatha pet's wormhole perk actually works on cobble, and from my testing buffs rates by about 20%

Implodent there seems to be an issue with the generator because it only re-generades the highest and the lowest cobblestone block, but not the other two
Is ALL of your lava, source blocks. Cus that’s the reason why it will be broken for you

How can we avoid admin checking with that ? Using F11 is allowed as long you are in front of your screen, but for example if you're watching something you are not noticing something (if you are getting checked) and that make you sus for the admin...
ive gotten 100m cobble collection from this and havent been macro checked, so its not really a problem

more speed doesn't make it much better from my testing. 200 speed is about the same rates as 400, if anything it's better because of less teleporting dt

Wouldnt it be better to build the cobble gen 5 high and using a lower speed like 150 or 200 so you reach the teleport pad slower?
okay so i did some testing:
500 speed
- 147,504/hr
400 speed
- 144,336/hr
300 speed
- 152,724/hr
200 speed
151,296/hr
this all could be chalked down to human error (or rng with getting stuck in pad) or smth, they're only 5 minute tests
also the gen is 5 high, i don't think anymore would be benificial. you can also fix the teleport pad bug by setting the teleport pad like two block away from the farm itself, placing a slab over it and elevating it a block higher (so i've been told)
i don't have island space to do this and am too lazy to fix it, especially because chances are i'll never use this again, but if you're using lower speeds to fix the pad just know that that's not rlly necessary
@@Implodent Yeah I was more asking this because the more time you spend breaking blocks and not teleporting the better, so if you go at 200 speed you will reach the other end twice as slow making you have to spend less time teleporting
