I feel that way about Achtung Baby in general. When I first got the album, I thought it was good, not great. But the more I listened to it, the more I realized it was a masterpiece. Every track is a home run and blends so well together from start to finish. The Joshua Tree will always be U2's biggest album. But in many ways, Achtung Baby is their most significant work.

God, such a great song from a masterpiece of an album, Achtung Baby. That period in rock history, the early to mid 1990s, is just incredible. You had U2 and REM at their creative peaks, and the grunge bands exploding onto the scene.
During that first half of the 1990s, bands like U2, REM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, and Beck put out some of the best music in rock history.

Listen to "Until the end of the world" and especially "Acrobat". Both are rock and hard-rock songs especially "Acrobat". It is one of the most intense, heavy, dark and fast rock songs. Achtung Baby was a mix of everything. It goes from a pop/alternative/electronica rock to grunge rock to rock to hard rock all in one album. That is the genius of it.

@@ramonarellano4988 Yeah, it's interesting to think about. I mean, Ultraviolet would have been a more obvious choice, but maybe The Fly was a bigger "statement". I still admire U2 for how boldly they "reinvented" themselves with Achtung. Not many bands have balls that big :D

"There is a silence that comes to a house, where no one can sleep, I guess its the price of love and I know its not cheap"...Bono is simply one of those who has the gift of writing beautiful, deep, bittersweet, hopeful, complex, happy, sad, truthful, haunting, romantic ( I can go on and on lol ) songs...its just how he really is able to pull those emotions with his writing and singing right out of you...You feel it when he sings, period.

Harder than completing 'Where the streets have no name'! I do not think so, 'Exit' could be darkest U2's song ever, 'Bullet blue sky' is brilliant but started with a simple bass melody, 'With or without you' is a very odd song, a huge but wonderful risk ...

The best and worst thing about U2 is that to truly appreciate and fully understand some of the songs one first must go tru some very bad shit in life, like for example, "one", to really get the full meaning of it you have to have failed epicly in love first, kite and ultraviolet at more examples. Best band ever...EVER.

One has nothing to do with failings in love its about human beings as a race and from doctors to dentists to teachers and on and on and how we have to carry each other through life like it or not guess we all take our own meanings from the great u2

@@gianpierodetommaso8710 yeah, i don't feel it the same way, but i understand your point. The last great albums that U2 did were those three: "Achtung...", "Zooropa" and "POP".

Going to see The Joshua Tree Tour in Melbourne November 15....I so hope they play this song. Absolutely BRILLIANT. I'll never forget seeing them way back in October 1989 three times here in Melbourne and I even drove to Adelaide and watched them again...they haven't lost it.
