I feel that way about Achtung Baby in general. When I first got the album, I thought it was good, not great. But the more I listened to it, the more I realized it was a masterpiece. Every track is a home run and blends so well together from start to finish. The Joshua Tree will always be U2's biggest album. But in many ways, Achtung Baby is their most significant work.
Saw U2 in 1988 with my wife when they performed this. My wife is gone but hopefully soon we will be together again and talk about the U2 concert. They were fabulous.
So Sorry for your loss. Said goodbye for now to many I love the past few years I understand. Jesus will hold you heart. Pray you feel His peace that surpasses all understanding and you know intimately His love for you. Hes coming soon. Love you. Jesus Loves you far more to die for you.
God, such a great song from a masterpiece of an album, Achtung Baby. That period in rock history, the early to mid 1990s, is just incredible. You had U2 and REM at their creative peaks, and the grunge bands exploding onto the scene. During that first half of the 1990s, bands like U2, REM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, and Beck put out some of the best music in rock history.
Listening to this on a sleepless night early in 2020. The upcoming day may be rough due to lack of sleep, but for me this music is a medicine, giving peace of mind, that I'm thankful for.
Listen to "Until the end of the world" and especially "Acrobat". Both are rock and hard-rock songs especially "Acrobat". It is one of the most intense, heavy, dark and fast rock songs. Achtung Baby was a mix of everything. It goes from a pop/alternative/electronica rock to grunge rock to rock to hard rock all in one album. That is the genius of it.
@@ramonarellano4988 Yeah, it's interesting to think about. I mean, Ultraviolet would have been a more obvious choice, but maybe The Fly was a bigger "statement". I still admire U2 for how boldly they "reinvented" themselves with Achtung. Not many bands have balls that big :D
Great memories. When Achtung Baby was released, I was living in England, and some friends & I drove to Edinburgh. We played that CD over & over- especially this song. I loved it the first time I heard it, and I love it even more today.
Me too! I've heard this song since 1991. The first time I heard it was going to give proof to the Rural University (UFRRJ) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And when I listen to the music, I still feel and remember those times.
When I was all f*cked up and had opera in my head....my girlfriend was the lightbulb over my head. She's now my wife for almost 20 years and still the lightbulb over my head. She stopped the cycle of self harm, desperation and ignited self belief.
For me, it was the early 90s of Hungary. All the world in a positive turmoil, everything becoming more and more free, I was excited about going to University, these were awesome days and this music throws me back.
When my son was a baby I played this song. He was sitting in his pushchair and listening to it carefully. Now he is 28. No phone rings, no letters, no skypes...
I used to think One was the song of the Album but I realize now that this is the Song of the Album. Achtung Baby is U2's finest work In my opinion. Not one bad song on it.
The best album U2 ever made. The most complete album. One, Fly, Acrobat, Love is blindness, Until the end of the World, Ultraviolet, Mysterious Ways, this album is unparalleled. Goes from electronica to pop to grunge rock to alternative rock to hard rock all in one album. Phenomenal stuff.
Gerard Bonner , this album is growing, and growing, I don't know where (or when) will stop, I also think that neither the band knows what they did, is anazing.
Love the ending...BAYBAY, BAYBE, Baby light myyy way...Just great lyrics. "There is a silence that comes to a house, where no one can sleep, I guess its the price of love and I know its not cheap"...Bono is simply one of those who has the gift of writing beautiful, deep, bittersweet, hopeful, complex, happy, sad, truthful, haunting, romantic ( I can go on and on lol ) songs...its just how he really is able to pull those emotions with his writing and singing right out of you...You feel it when he sings, period.
This song is serioustly the most fantastic song to experience live.! "Ultraviolet" and "One" by U2 and then "Better Man" by Pearl Jam are definitely the three most extraordinary and in any way fantastic songs to experience live.. Fantastic songs! really!!!
Seemed like every time I was at a crossroad of my life, this album would end up playing in my car as I drove for hours. And when it got to Ultraviolet, my fav on the album, things seemed a little brighter ahead. An awesome song.
Lo mejor de este álbum, todo!!!! Es simplemente espectacular. Lo peor, nunca U2 ha vuelto a hacer una obra maestra. Amo U2, pero este álbum es lo máximo
Whenever I listen this music, I remind movie "Click" 's last scene. And I refresh my life again through this amazing combination. This song is driving me touching.
"and the day is as dark as the night is long...there is a silence that comes to a house where noone can sleep, i guess its the price of love, i know its not cheap, etc etc" man! bono's lyrics are just rip through you...just pure beauty!...and i m not even gonna go into the magic of his voice...specially acthung baby era...my favorite album from them...
"Achtung Baby" is the best U2 album ever made. Watching "From the sky down" documentary, it truly gives a sense of how difficult this album was to make (they still call it the most difficult album they ever made). Definitely, the best rock record of the 90s.
Harder than completing 'Where the streets have no name'! I do not think so, 'Exit' could be darkest U2's song ever, 'Bullet blue sky' is brilliant but started with a simple bass melody, 'With or without you' is a very odd song, a huge but wonderful risk ...
It was always and is an uplifting album for me. Came out when you I was 23 at uni and travelled with me thru my 20s and onwards. UltraViolet and So Cruel are masterpieces.
listening 4am 1-7-21. I love U2 & this song is great just as whole album is so good. It brings me back good memories of singing harmony w/them & dancing in my apt. thank you 1-7-21

The best and worst thing about U2 is that to truly appreciate and fully understand some of the songs one first must go tru some very bad shit in life, like for example, "one", to really get the full meaning of it you have to have failed epicly in love first, kite and ultraviolet at more examples. The whole album was perfect
Definitely my favorite album of theirs.
U2's greatest album and one of the best albums of all time.
This song is perfect in every way.
Without doubt this is U2's greatest album. Remember when they were as good as this?
My heart soars when the guitar starts kicking-in at the beginning...
Same 🤩
Is it just me, or is it true that the more you listen to this song, the more you like it?
I feel that way about Achtung Baby in general. When I first got the album, I thought it was good, not great. But the more I listened to it, the more I realized it was a masterpiece. indeed it is...feel like trash you make me feel clean, what a line...
This is great, and this song beautiful, but nothing like what they did in the eighties
Roger Mahajan bbb We
Achtung Baby and Zooropa.
Yes im
They might be a little over the hill nowadays, but tracks like this show how insanely epic this band was in its prime.
They’re still putting out great tracks even over the hill lol
Greatest band on this planet. I never tire listening to them. So many ways of interpreting their music. Something for everybody!
Listening to this on a sleepless night early in 2020. The upcoming day may be rough due to lack of sleep, but for me this music is a medicine, giving peace of mind, that I'm thankful for.
This song also helped me too to get through the almost sleepless nights of the 2020
Best album ever made in the history of planet earth. So haunting. Still listen to this whole album at least once per week.
Best album of the 90's...
Certainly up there. One of the few albums I love playing from start to finish.
MattPopOfficial I would say it is "the masterpiece" of the "Pop" arena
+MattPopOfficial absolutely...

It's top 10 but not the best. The 90s were incredible for music.
I will never comprehend how this was never a single. It could'a been HUGE.
M B , the real good songs are never singles, singles are for the shallow masses, get it ?.
@@ramonarellano4988 Up to a point, sure. I mostly agree. But Ultraviolet is also poppy as heck. Still a missed opportunity, methinks.
M B , maybe you are right, have them released this song as the first single, instead of the Fly, ...hummm.
M B my point is, people were mostly not ready at the time, they were kind of ahead of this particular time in music.
One of their best albums. Still, play it after decades when it waa released.

it wasn't for you :D
It only gets better and better!❤
When I was all messed up and I heard opera in my head. Your love was a light bulb hanging over my bed.
Psychiatric hospital. ♥️💖
Bono is an under-rated poet, all four of them are amazing and they create a unique sound.
When my Dad played this song in his car when I was a little child I said: Yeah the baby, baby, song 👍
That’s adorable!
I was that dad too..
Paulxboxblaster YT your dad must be a huge U2 fan!
Thanks Paul
📢AMEN🙏
Loved U2 for over 35 years, and this a tune
Achtung Baby is the best album ever!!! N Ultraviolet is the best song ever!!!
I like the ambient texture guitar chords by the Edge. Thank you, Brian Eno. He's all over some of their best music.
my favourite ever song, over 400 times played in my itunes and 100s more before i got itunes. thers so much going on musically, so much depth.
Edge's sound on the last few minutes of this song is the best I've ever heard.

When this album was released I played it over and over and over again. Brings back good and bad times.... ;)
Simply the one of the best songs of U2. My fave band.

Oh that time was good.
That bass line!

High school memories. I always loved that song but I love it even more today. Love from France people.
