That is 1993 Power Morpher custom restoration perfection! If I ever bought myself one, I'll do precisely the same. You did an excellent job ^^ No bias or nitpicky here, but I wouldn't say that the Morphers up till now; the 1993/DX, Legacy, and Lightning collections are the perfect Power Morphers. Custom-made ones have come close so far, but my picture/vision of an ideal Power Morpher would be like this: 1. The Morpher bulkiness & thickness should be like the 1993 version. It also needs to make the holder like the Legacy & Lightning version has but it can fit 1993-style Morphers. 2. The back side of the Morpher should be like the Lightning version but with the Legacy version's colors. 3. The plating could be like the 1993 or Legacy versions with "Power Rangers" letters in the red circle. 4. The circuitry, sound system, light effects, and inner plating should be like the Lightning collection (cause I do like the voice actors, the light effects, and the inner plating's detail). Still, I would keep the voice actor as a secondary switch menu while the primary switch menu should be the morphing sound and music theme like the Legacy version. And keep the power coin reading function. 5. The power coins should be the Lightning collection cause I like the Power Ranger helmet motif on the back of the coin. That's what my version of a perfect Power Morpher is like. The same goes for the Master Morpher as well. The Lightning collection are fantastic and have better sound quality, but two downsides are that when I want to morph, I would like to say the phrase rather than let the voice actor say it. The Morpher are way too bulky and thick, which can be slightly heavy to hold. The Legacy Morphers are great cause they're quite show-accurate. But the downside is the coin itself can often come out of the Morpher or turn around whenever we move around, and it's a hassle to rearrange the power coin to its correct position. 1993/DX Morphers, to me, is nearly perfect. Looking at it, it's lighter and thinner than the Lightning collection and probably the Legacy Morpher. The downside is that the Morpher is upside down, and the sound quality could be better.
Amazing Job sir!!!! At 11:45, I liked the Plastic Fork lol you could also use something called Kapton Tape, it protects against Heat and prevents shorting from electrical components such as that capacitor there. Also brilliant job on the paint application. Looks gorgeous all around!
Yeah, this is nice. I went full out, front and back. I picked up the set that's based on the 1992 Dynobuckler from Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuuranger; I want to customize it into Burai's Dragon Buckler (aka Tommy's Power Morpher). But, I'll have to contact Starlight Studios to see if they still make the custom parts for the 93 Power Morpher (Ex.: A replacement X-arm slider, diecast Power Coins, etc.)...because it would suck if they don't do that anymore. UPDATE 2022Jul05: Tryna use the disinfecting wipes to clear off the sticker residue WORKS, but that and gettin' the old stickers off in the first place are bith5 just an extreme pain in the nuts. Your choice of paint tripped me out, because the paint I have is Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic in gold...which is great as far as my customizing goals (Burai's Dynobuckler, aka Tommy's Power Morpher). Wondering if I should get some fresh screws for this thing, the heads of a couple of'em have rusted. The clear red part in my Morpher had what I thought was some dirty spots...nope, that's wrong. Those are scuffs. Nothing can be done for that. 😑 Still wish there was a way to get a reproduction of the belt clip holster from the Dynobuckler (since Bandai America bizarrely DIDN'T make that)... Finally, you got lucky with yours!! The XY axis component is much more common to have one or both of the hooks (that the spring latches onto) be snapped off, which also results in a not fully functional opening gimmick; in that case, that entire component needs to be replaced.
I have these two myself. Got the 93 morpher at a good cheep price. I've repainted the plates but I haven't ordered any sticker replacement yet. I'm next gonna get the new hasbro version and turn it into the master morpher.
I got the morpher and blade blaster from eBay in today. The morpher will need to be restored because the spring doesn't function, and this video helps so much. Thanks!
Update: Fixed the spring and it pops out once again. Unfortunately the wire became detached, but I don't really care about the sound and lights for now until I fix it.
Does anyone know why; when I open my legacy morpher only ONE light comes one. When I hold the button down, the light moves with the music. At NO time does my legacy morpher have all its lights on....
GREAT VIDEO *** I have (I believe) the original “Morpher” - 5 Power coins - 2 Power Ranger guys (green and blue) 1 breast plate - replaced the batteries - the lights and sounds come on but the sound isn’t very loud - the side stickers are torn but the “MIGHTY MORPHIN” and “POWER RANGERS” are intact - have been in storage for about 27-28 years Anyone interested?
It's crazy how well these Morphers held up after 30 years.
Cause the electronics are super simple

One of these days I'll get mine fixed.
Thanks a lot, this helped me in figuring out the position of the parts once I opened mine.
Very shiny morpher and great job at putting the stickers on neatly to make it look like the legacy power morpher except for the sounds but great job.
Ok I need to find an original morpher now..I can remember getting mine from toys r us back in the day.
This was such an awesome video.

Can you tell what paint did.you use?

That's great, if you want to restore the electronics usually a quick solder will fix it. They were a pretty simple design.
Hey , how are you ... Dude i was wondering what you did with the plates to get the scuffs out before the paint job ?
do you have a slow reassemble complete video? or step by step to how to put the red part into the other one ? im having trouble to reassemble mine
Nice.
You should be proud of yourself.
Just got mine and the sound is very low and lights aren’t working not sure how to fix that or if it’s even a good idea trying
Is there a way to disable or change the voice lines and audio of the morphers?
I never understood why the American versions had the wrong stickers on them
It was to hide the Japanese origin of the show. American kids would’ve been confused if they saw “Zyuranger” on the toys.
Where can i find a replacement spring
Does anyone know why; when I open my legacy morpher only ONE light comes one. When I hold the button down, the light moves with the music. At NO time does my legacy morpher have all its lights on....
How were the original sticks removed?
What type of paint did you use I wanna restore this lightspeed rescue morpher I recently picked up from the flea market
i think he used rust-oleum titanium silver u can get it at walmart, it’s the one with the fancy percussion nozzle
Can the 1993 Morpher board fit inside a legacy morpher?
Hey at 10:10 there is a very small spring...what is its location...i dont remember where it was when i undid my morpher
Hi Hookahnadian, are you referring to the small spring next to the batteries on the table?
@@AlmostCountsCollectibles yeah. It drop while i was undoing the morpher to fix the buckle...but dont know where its from
@@CanadianShishaGuru i tried to fix mine today and same thing happened, did you manage to put it back properly?
Can you fix mine? It was in about the same shape, except now that it opens, it won't close all the way
I have the newish legacy morpher, any ideal how to switch the morpher handle, I swear it’s backwards
How many morphers do you own now
GREAT VIDEO ***

I'm interested if you still have it
The piece that you do not know what you call it is a Diode.
That's not a diode, it's a ceramic capacitor.
what would u recommend using to strip the original paint off?
Fingernail polish remover should do the trick pretty quickly.
